We took the kids and the dog for a last minute get away. The owner was very accommodating, taking us at the last minute. This was the perfect house and the perfect spot. The views were wonderful, the house was clean and comfortable and well equipped. When traveling as a family of five and a dog it is difficult to find a place that works for us, this cozy house was perfect. The kids loved sleeping in the loft. The pool table was a nice touch and the kids loved learning to play. The kitchen was the perfect size and had all the basics needed to cook a good meal, and even was stocked with some basic spices and necessities. The country road was great for a hike with the kids and the dog. And the kids (and the adults) had a blast at the Jay Peak Pump House indoor water park. Very clean, well run, not crowded and so much fun! We all slept great after that. The little country store on the way to the mountain had everything and was fairly priced. The kids keep asking when we can return to "our little house in VT." I think we may have to go back!
Owner response:Kathryn, Thanks so much for the great review!! So glad we were able to accommodate you and your family on such short notice. Sounds like you had a great time. We work hard to make sure every guests visit is as memorable as yours, and it's great to hear that we're on the right track! Tell the kids the house will be ready for them the next time your ready come back!! Cheers! E&J

The place was warm comfortable, clean and very well equipped right down to the waxing bench!! We entertained friends stayin on the hill and they were impressed as well, as far as we are concerned staying somewhere else while skiing Jay is not an option, spend some time there and you will see what we mean. StromHaus is a terrific little chalet to come back to after a long day of skiing at Jay Peak! It is located a few miles from the mountain in a very peaceful area very close to the Canadian border. The chalet is perfectly set up for our family of 4, with one master bedroom, a loft with two futons, and a basement with a pool table and sleeper sofa. It is very clean and bright. We took great advantage of the small but well-equipped kitchen. The basement has a great setup for storing skis, boots, etc. and even has a ski waxing station. We would definitely return.
Owner response:Thank you all for the wonderful review!! It was nice to have you all come up & rent after having visited the house when your family had stayed there a few years ago. Come back again anytime as we do offer discounts to our return guests. Cheers! Eric & Judy

This is a beautiful house in a beautiful location! We had three great days of skiing at Jay Peak, and the convenience of location was key: easy drive up the mountain road, great general store in Jay to stop at for dinner necessities on the way back down, wonderfully supplied kitchen to cook in, and the TV and pool table kept my late-teen & early-twenties sons very happy! Warm, lovely bedroom and comfy sleeping loft - the driveway was well plowed - the place is clean as a whistle - it's everything you could want! Hope to go back soon!
Owner response:Wow Craig thank you, what a great review!! We're so happy you all enjoyed yourselves. We've worked very hard to make sure that our guests are comfortable & have a great time while staying at the house. Come back again soon as we do offer discounts to our return guests. Cheers! This quiet tucked away chalet, minutes away from Jay Peak is a wonderful winter hideaway. Our family with our son and dog enjoyed running around the property and go for long walks down the country road. The chalet was very clean and fully equipped with all you need to have a great vacation. I personally love cooking and everything was included (olive oil, salt, pepper, toaster, etc...) Thank you very much for a wonderful stay! Delphine, Marc & Luke and our dog Rex
Owner response:Delphine, Glad you all had a great time up at the chalet, we've tried very hard to make things comfortable for everyone. That's great that you all took advantage of the property & the surrounding beauty of the country roads for walks with the dog, I bet he loved it. Additionally we'll be getting your ski jacket shipped out as soon as possible. Thanks again Delphine, it was a pleasure dealing with you all! Cheers! Eric & Judy

This was our second stay and we will be coming back again. We might even bring the kids next time... Nah! My husband & I can't say enough about this house: The cleanliness is impeccable, the views are breathtaking and it's location is minutes to Jay Peak Resort, as well as quaint shops.
Owner response:We were so happy we were able to accommodate you all on such short notice. Being able to give you our "return guest" discount was our pleasure & we know it was a nice surprise to you all. We've worked very hard to make Strom Haus your vacation getaway year after year. We look forward to having you back again! Take care Richard!!

A few family members and myself stayed at this beautiful cabin for a couple days while attending a family reunion in upstate VT. After a long couple of days greeting relatives and chatting late into the night, this cabin was a wonderful place to relax in. The entire house was very clean with all sorts of great amenities (especially the more-than-comfortable master bed and the pool table). We enjoyed the large yard and deck for our breakfast each morning. We also made friends with the cows and horses next door! Hopefully we can make it back during ski season! Wonderful experience - would recommend to anyone.
Owner response:Hey Kep folks, glad you had a wonderful time up at the house!! We've tried very hard to make things comfortable for everyone. Come back up this winter, we do offer discounts to our return guests!! Cheers! Eric & Judy

Hey guys, Wanted to say thanks for letting us stay at StromHaus. It was great! We will certainly be staying there again. Such a great setting and location to Jay was just right. Thank god for Subarus though - it was a little tricky getting out the one day! Also, I was under the impression that there was WiFi at the house. Not sure if I read that WiFi was an accommodation or just assumed so...it was nice to not be connected though :) Wish I had known about the tuning bench! I would have brought my tuning stuff and saved myself a few hours the previous week! Next time - right? Are either of you patrollers? Couldn't help but notice the NSP posters and magazines around the house. My dad is on the patrol at the local hill down here. Thanks again for a great stay and we look forward to visiting again soon! -Dave Owner response: Dave, glad you enjoyed your stay. I was there right before your arrival and I understand what you mean about the tricky driveway. My Subbie almost didn't make it out either! I am a Patroller, 13 years and going strong. Glad to hear we had family at the house. Let us know the next time you're ready to come up and we'll do our best to accommodate you! Cheers! Eric & Judy Strom

This house is great! We found everything we were needing! Friday night was a littlebite stressing because we were not knowing the adress and 3 friends has arrived very late in the night. But the with cell phone all had finished very well. The only suggestion I have is to draw a little map for giving at the check-in ;) Saturday has been an awesome day for skiing and it has been great to cook the dinner all together at the Strom haus and to relax in the living by listening each story of the day. Sunday morning was a surprise with a mountain of snow outside! The only word for that is : WOW! Here it is winter, yes that a perferct place! People are so great! Well, Eric, Judy, I really want to thank you for your patience, you was very professional. We hope to come back in 2012 and to enjoy again your house!
Owner response:Hi we're happy you had a great time up at StromHaus!! We appreciate your suggestion & interestingly enough have included it, as this year we have started to manage the property ourselves Part of the check-in instructions include a a very detailed map to get to the house. We look forward to having you all back again & do offer discounts to return renters!! Cheers!! Eric and Judy

Myself and 4 friends stayed at the StramHaus for a very cold and beautiful weekend. We had a very good time - relaxed in the common room, cooked some great food, skied Jay Peak, and took a long walk on nearby snowmobile trails. The condo has one queen size bed in the master bedroom, however the other 'beds' listed are futons or pull out couches. The condo's basement is perfect for handling gear - with plenty of space for lots of wet ski gear to dry and warm up before it is time to put it on again. Last minute booking for the weekend trip (Thursday before) was not a problem at all. Oh and a beautiful view!
Owner response:We at StromHaus are happy we were able to accommodate you and your group on such short notice. The house, as is listed on our site, clearly states the sleeping arrangements to accommodate everyone in the house. There are also pictures of all of the sleeping areas as well. (ie. Queen size bed in the master bedroom a futons and pull-out couches.) Glad you took advantage of the basement design, your experience was exactly what we had in mind. The views are beautiful all year round. We look forward to having you all back again soon.

We are very satisfied about our trip to Jay Peak. It's a nice welcoming town. We went to snowboard and the mountain is really impressive. The House had all we needed to live well; a lot of kitchen implements, spices, dishes. I'm happy about the living room with big and comfy couches. The house is clean and absolutely well-maintained. A pool table !!!! Yeah You need a car, the 'big' grocery store is at the next town: a 20 minutes ride. We recommend this house to everybody who love nature, peace. Families, friends, everyone who wants to have all they need for a good price. Thank you Judy and Eric.
Owner response:Thank you Stephanie, it was a pleasure dealing with you all. Please come back & stay with us again next year! Cheers! Eric & Judy

This was our second trip to Jay Peak and staying at the Strom haus. We golfed three days at Jay. The house is amazing. I enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning having a cup of coffee with the sun rising over the mountains, watching the horses in the field across the road and just chillin by the fire.

We had lots of fun skiing at Jay Peak, sunny skies & lots of snow. We came back to the house played pool, watched movies & had a 4 hour poker marathon. We also got to see the lunar eclipse outside from the deck. We all highly recommend Strom House & Jay Peak. See you next year!!!
