National Geographic got it right when they described the Dingle Peninsula as the most beautiful place on earth. I was lucky to have selected "Herlihy House" for a month long visit to commemorate my 50th birthday as it offered the best view in town, clean and comfortable living with all the amenities, wonderful neighbors (including cows, sheep, seagulls, a dolphin, yellow lab, and curious kitty cat), secluded beach, and choice of scenic walk or short drive into town. Even when it rains here, the beauty that surrounds you is overwhelming. From the comfy blue chairs in the living room you can watch an ever-changing sky that seems close enough to touch. As for Dingle, you won't find a more charming town with friendly merchants, talented musicians and artisans, amazing cuisine and of course, lot's of Guinness (best at John Benny's)! Stay awhile and get to know this special place.

We had been planning our month’s stay at the Herlihy house for years and our dream finally came true in October 2009. After viewing several homes in Ireland we knew that this house would meet all of our expectations – and it did and then some. We hosted several groups of family members during our stay who experienced the vacation of a lifetime. All of the amenities you would need or want are at the house: a fully equipped kitchen, four lovely bedrooms, a contemporary Celtic décor, a short walk to the beach where our family caught several fish, phone numbers for taxi drivers, gorgeous views from all of the rooms, a cozy gas fireplace, books and pamphlets on the area attractions, DVDs (we watched Ryan’s Daughter), cable TV, etc. We were most appreciative of the welcoming basket of food items upon our arrival and we were truly sorry when we had to say good-bye to the Herlihy house. I highly recommend this experience for anyone planning a trip to Ireland.

You cannot get passed the views from every window in the Herlihy House. We have never been in a vacation home that has been so serene, comfortable, impeccably decorated and maintained. The walk through the fields and cliffs were breathtaking. Dingle and the townspeople were fascinating and extraordinary, even the hardware store was converted to a pub after hours. Many good ol' times there. Nothing short of a great adventure. We highly recommend the Herlihy House.

The pictures don't do this house justice. It is simply stunning. Tons of room and charm. The view is spectacular. We loved our stay at the Herlihy House and hope someday to return.

We had a fabulous family reunion week at Herlihy House in July 2008. Beautiful and comfortable home, stunning views from the house and the cliff path. We made the most of the sunny weather and did lots of walking - there are so many beautiful places to visit on the Dingle Peninsula. Highly recommended!

This home is absolutely incredible. Aside from it's modern amenities and comfortable spaces, the actual location of the house is irreplaceable. You are literally ON the Atlantic Ocean, overlooking dramatic cliffs and the water from the living room (which is complete with a fireplace - perfect for the chilly Irish evenings). The house is proximate to downtown Dingle and all it has to offer, and the caretakers of this property are two of the kindest, most helpful human beings you could ask for. This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I highly recommend it for ANYONE. The house easily accommodates 8 people, and could sleep 10 comfortably if you have a larger group. The house even comes complete with a few binders full of recommendations for local activities, restaurants, and points of interest. I could not have asked for anything more - I started missing it the second we pulled out of the driveway.

I confess I have an addiction ... The view from the cozy fireplace out across the bay to the Skelligs. One day, I sat snuggled up with a book from the magnificent sunrise until the breathtaking sunset over the sea... all visible without ever moving from my perch ... other than to put the kettle on and pour a cup of tea! I stayed at this magnificent seaside home first in 2005 and have returned several times since then. Believe me, if I win the Lotto... I'd love to book in for the winter!!!! Every amenity you could wish for... and some you haven't even thought of await you at Herlihy House... down to the use of mobile phone! Come and fall in love with Dingle. I guarantee you, you'll return!

We were lucky enough to stay at Herlihy House for two weeks during the summer of 2006. There were six adults and two children and there was plenty of room for everybody - with one bedroom its own suite away from the noise of the kids. The views from every room are amazing. The cottage is immaculate and so wonderfully decorated - the celtic-inspired decorations really represent the beauty of Ireland. We have already booked it for two weeks in 2008.
