Plum Cottage is a charming, comfortable single-family home on the northern tip of Plum Island, about 100 yds. from the beach. The upper floor and deck offer unobstructed views of the Merrimac River, the Atlantic Ocean, the New Hampshire and Maine coastline, and the Isles of Shoals.
Some of the best fishing in New England is steps from the front door, in addition to swimming, sunbathing, kayaking, boating, kite flying, bird watching, and strolling the miles of pristine, uncrowded beaches, a cool, unspoiled, beautiful place to spend your summer!
Plum Island is an 11-mile long barrier island just off the shore of Newburyport, Mass. It’s accessed by a causeway that crosses tidal marshes and the Parker River. Most of Plum Island is part of the 4,600-acre Parker River Wildlife Refuge.
The Island isn’t a commercial center, but does have convenient amenities -- a small beach front hotel, 3 excellent eateries, 2 bait and tackle shops, and 2 package/variety stores. Historic Newburyport offers shopping, dining, theater, museums, whale watching and activities for every taste.
Our community is within easy driving distance to Boston, southern Maine and the New Hampshire mountains.
