The cabin was ideal, the location was perfect for my daughter's wedding on the Parkway and the reception at Mast Farm. For a total of four adults and two children the sleeping arrangements were perfect and thanks to a cool front the fireplace was most enjoyable. Being a 'flatlander' the drive to the cabin off of Hwy 105 was fun for all and the only regret was I wasn't on my motorcyle. Thank you for the quick response after our stay also, from previous experience I had expected to come to you for the deposit return. Getting the deposit returned so quickly eased my mind. We really appreciated your hospitality and the warmth of your cabin.

The house was well sized for my crew of 7, and we could have probably fit at least two more comfortably. I loved the log cabin feel on the inside with the wood beams and lofted ceiling. We also made use of the hot tub and pool table. Great place for a group or family vacation. The only couple of negatives I would say: A lack of some basic amenities like flour, soap, and sugar Close proximity to neighbors - depending on the season privacy is relatively scarce Otherwise, we appreciated the proximity to Valle Crucis, Linville, Grandfather Mountain, and Boone. We also really enjoyed the Foscoe Community, the folks were helpful and extremely friendly. Thanks for a great weekend and we appreciate you opening your home to us.
Owner response:We are glad you enjoyed your stay! However, I would point out that the house comes equipped with all linens and towels and household items - like dish and laundry detergent. It would really not be feasible to provide personal toiletry times or food items needed for cooking.

My roommates from college and I went to the Rocky Roost for a girls getaway! We had a BLAST! Your home is very comfortable and absolutely beautiful! I love the rooster on the porch! We had 12 ladies and we were all very comfortable - enough beds and room for everyone! The kitchen was great for cooking for a night in and enjoying many glasses of wine on the screened in porch. I can't wait to see the fire pit you are installing - it is going to be fabulous! Perhaps we will come again in the fall! Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us!

What a warm and welcoming place to relax and enjoy the company of friends! From the fireplace to the beautiful, eclectic and fun decorating, I cannot think of a better way to spend a March weekend. I wish I could wake up every morning to the incredible mountain sunrise that peeks itself up from the rolling view - wow! I will be going back as soon as I can.

Very comfortable and cozy cabin! The beautiful snow fall on Sunday night was a great surprise that greatly enhanced our stay! We really appreciated the pool table for the guys, the Wii for the kids and the well-appointed kitchen for fixing our meals - and the hot tub and the good stock of wood!

We had a great time visiting the NC and even got a little snow on our last day! The house was wonderful and accomodating for the adults as well as our children. We enjoyed the zip-lining and snow tubing (very close to cabin.) I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend the Rocky Roost!

This was our first "mountain" vacation for the family. We are beach bums, but this is much more relaxing than Emerald Isle! We ALL loved the sleeping porch and took turns with catnaps. We hope to be back in October 2012. We did some great shopping in Blowing Rock too - nice little town!

The Rocky Roost was a great place to meet some good friends for some R&R. The house is comfortable and well appointed. Ziplining was a good time for those in our group who had the fortitude to try it. Hiking Grandfather Mountain was also fun! Great place - we would recommend to others!

Love this beautiful mountain home! My favorite part of this home is the sleeping porch - we had evening and night temperatures of high 50s to low 60s - perfect for sleeping out. Favorite activities - Jacob's Ladder (Hebron Rock Colony), Rafting with Edge of the World! Favorite restaurants - Our Daily Bread in Boone, and Grandview at the bottom of the mountain. Mostly we had a good time reconnecting as a family - thank you so much! We hope to be back soon!

Whitewater rafting in the Nolichucky River, biking at Lees McRae and fishing (more like catching!) at Grandfather Trout Farm. Loved the house - very comfortable and relaxing. We recommend the hot tub and pool table! Worst part was having to leave, but we hope to be back soon. High Mountain Expeditions was great for rafting trips and Jackalope's View is a wonderful restaurant!

So...the sleeping porch is awesome! We would have stayed out there the whole time if not for sight-seeing to do and the ASU graduation to attend! What a great idea for the porch - and it is so cute! We are planning a return trip in August...can't wait to sleep on the porch again! Thanks so much!

We had a great time at your place. It's gorgeous, so beautifully decorated and absolutely the place I would want to get snowed into. Went with a group of girls and we spent a good deal of time on the screened in porch - beautiful time of year for that. All around great weekend, and now I want to take my family back up there. Thank you for thinking of everything!

Wow - we loved the house! We brought our daughter up here to look at Lee's McRae and ASU for college and have fallen in love with the Rocky Roost! Wayne and Becky - you thought of everything we could possibly need - loved roasting smores by the fire ring and rocking on the screened in porch. We will definitely be back to stay when our daughter comes to school - thanks again!

The cabin is decorated too cute! Love how you have thought of everything. Sitting on the screened in porch was our favorite. I loved your selection of books. We came to the Roost to hike the Grandfather Profile Trail, hike down to Linville Falls, visit the Mast General Store and Watauga Lake - which was beautiful!
