We had 5 families meet at the house (12 total). The house was perfect for all of us. We had a great time and the ski slopes were close by. The owners were very helpful to us in planning our trip. My parents loved that there were no steps leading into the main level. The boys were exctied about sleeping in the loft. The house was very spacious and clean. The kitchen is well stocked with lots of extra thoughtful items available. The furniture was very comfortable and there was enough room for all of us to be together. The downstairs was also very nice. There was also plenty of parking space for all of our vehicles. We are all looking forward to making this an annual trip.

Our familes came from SC, Tn, Pa, and Ohio. The house was exactly what we needed, large enough for kids to remain in the lower level most of the time while the adults enjoyed the main level. We had 8 inches of new snow while we were there and the skiing and tubing were wonderful, so I was told. The house is well equipped as described which made our cooking much easier. We plan to return!
Owner response:Bob, We're so glad your family enjoyed their visit. It IS a great place to be together but yet have plenty of room to spread out. So glad that nature cooperated and that you had SNOW!! Nancy

This was a great home for our Christmas family vacation with lots of room for kids and adults. Wonderful view and perfect location especially for skiing, ice skating and tubing. Kitchen was well equipted and dinning room table was large enough for all 9 adults. Will definitely rent this house again for our next trip to Sugar Mountain.
Owner response:Thanks so much Mary. We were glad to share our home with your family and we're so glad that everyone enjoyed it! Nancy Pippin

We really enjoyed our stay in this warm, inviting, well-equipped home. It is extremely clean and extremely spacious. We were two families with a granddad and an extra friend along, and we all had plenty of space. The kitchen had everything we needed and plenty of mugs for coffee and cocoa! We enjoyed the large dining table for eating and for playing games. The location is extremely convenient to skiing and not far from the main entrance to Grandfather Mountain. Everything is in excellent condition, and it felt like home. We would love to return!

We were at the cabin for the New Year and it was great. The cabin was really warm and cozy, with very spacious rooms and great beds. We were 5 couples and this cabin was exactly what we've been looking for. The three sofas in the living room, in front of the fireplace, were exactly what every one needed after a day of skiing. Thanks Nancy and we promise we'll be back.

Nancy "Our family stayed at your fabulous home for 4 nights right after Christmas. The house was awesome and fun was had by all. The location was great. Since we are from South Mississippi, we were hoping for snow. Boy were we surprised at how much snow and ice there was!!! But it was awesome. We hope to come back to that area again, and we will certainly check to see if your house is available." L McKay

We had a wonderful stay in this home. It was great for 2 families and was well furnished. The downstairs room allowed the kids to have their space and the upstairs was great for the adults. The views were beautiful and the home is close to the ski slopes. We will try to book again.

We stayed at this warm, cozy, and very accommodating home for our daughters graduation in May from ASU.It was absolutely perfect. My husband is in a large electric powered wheelchair and the home was very accessible for him, he was able to move freely around the first floor with no problems. We had 14 people at the house for dinner one night, two were in powered wheelchairs and we were not crowded at all. The views from the great room and deck are awesome, the wrap around deck is a wonderful place to enjoy coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening. The furnishings are are very comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need and more. The layout is perfect for a large crowd with various age groups. We had a wonderful time there and would highly recommend it, Calvin and Nancy are very kind and went out of their way to make sure my husband would be able to get in and get around in their beautiful mountain paradise. We thank them very much and hope to return in the fall. Tony and Kim Blaha & Family May 2009

This works wonderfully for us. We just couldn't believe it. We tried to get y'all's house again but it was gone. We had used VRBO for trips to the islands and Breckenridge, so I thought I'd just check and there you were! Our good fortune! C Parker * Previous renter thru an agent and introduced us to VRBO!

A great 2005 ski trip for all of us! Your house was a joy for everyone. The kids loved the basement which gave them A place to “hang out”. They referred to the basement as “camp” and camp offered all the required amenities like; Music, Games,TV, lounge area, bed rooms, and bathroom/shower. The kids enjoyed the room with the 2 bunk beds while their older 12 year old cousin was able to enjoy his “own room” with a queen size bed. So for us, a fun ski trip is when the kids say at the end of a memorable trip“That was awesome and when are we going back”….Thanks for lasting memories and a pre-2005 Christmas Joy!!The North and Oliver Family.

We had a great visit in this beautiful place. It was quite spacious and it snowed three or four inches while we were there, something we rarely see in Savannah. We hope to return again next year. Convenient to the slopes and a beautiful view. The McCorkles, the Allens and the Johnstons.

Perfect place to stay with large family or group of friends. We took my parents, my husband's mother, and our three children (5 adults, 3 kids) for a weeks stay. Everyone had plenty of space! (We could have had more people and still had room) Great location! Boone/Blowing Rock/Grandfather Mountain/Linville/BRP, everything right there and easy to access. Also not far (30-45 min) from Elizabethton/Johnson City, TN (good antiqueing) Banner Elk has a great playground for the kids if you have small ones.(about a 15 min drive max) After a morning of hiking, waterfalls, and nature loving on the BRP for the adults, could spend the afternoon at the playground burning off some energy with the kids. Grocery right around the corner, so "grub" wasn't an issue either! And the house--nicely appointed, comfortable and clean. GREAT KITCHEN if you plan to cook and eat in. Look forward to a future stay....highly recommend it to anyone!

This home is wonderful ! Had everything we needed and super close to the slopes. It was large enough for everyone to have their own space and the kids loved their own "private" place downstairs ! Would highly recommend the owners as they have great communication with you and do everything possible to make your stay enjoyable. We stayed in this home in Feb. 2003 and we will be back !

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home with the fantastic view and the great location. The home was very clean with ample space for the 14 of us. Very close to the slopes as well as points of interest we wanted to visit. Very quiet and peaceful. Saw deer in the woods next door. It snowed 5 inches while we were there. We plan to come back. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home. We highly recommend it to everyone.
