Location, location, location! Want to be within walking distance to town but still feel like you are miles away? This house is located on Satulah Mountain in the historic district. Satulah Mountain is one of the oldest mountains in the world and the first summer homes of Highlands were built on Satulah Mountain. This home that we call "Treehouse" is well appointed and has a fabulous, large 450 sq.ft. screened porch with views of Whiteside Mountain. The house is very secluded, having an approximate elevation of 4200 feet but is within walking distance to downtown (less than one mile from the Old Edwards Inn). Comfortably sleeps six plus a sofa bed in the downstairs playroom/office. We can accomodate up to 6 adults and 2 children under the age of 10 but cannot accomodate 8 adults. Handicap accessible with an elevator.
Master bedroom has a king sized bed with a full bathroom and flat screen television. Second bedroom has a king sized bed and full bath with television. Third bedroom has two twin beds and full bath located in the hallway. There is a stereo system with speakers throughout the family room, kitchen, back deck and screen porch. It has a 200 CD changer, Ipod station dock and AM/FM tuner.
There is a terrific treehouse in the backyard for children to play in during their stay. The house is fully stocked with dishes, cooking utensils, linen, reading material, DVDs, CDs and board games.

A Delight In North Carolina !!!

Our family just spent last week in the Highlands at the Treehouse. What a lovely spot to spend time with family and grandchildren. The Treehouse was very comfortable, private, spacious, with a great screened in porch, with beautiful views. Cozy and family friendly. We ended up spending most of our days and evenings on the porch, when not touring the lovely in full bloom, rhododendron, countryside . The many beautiful Falls and hiking trails were a delight. The house is within walking distance to the lovely town of Highlands, where one can experience music, art, great food and friendly locals. The owners were a delight to deal with and always available..The home was very well maintained. Hope to make it back that way sometime in the future. SIB, Tulsa. OK

The house and location were perfect for a quick 3 day getaway that felt a lot longer. The house is very nice and it's the ideal location (with great views) -- just above downtown highlands so you can explore and still be close to a great market and restaurants.

Spent a long weekend with my family at the Treehouse and couldn't have had a better time. The house was fantastic! We were immediately impressed with the quality of the home, the mountain views, and such close proximity to d'town Highlands. It was such an easy and short walk d'town. The owners were wonderful to deal with and helped make our stay enjoyable. Overall, it was such a pleasurable experience, one I would highly recommend to others.

The home was so warm and inviting-like we had moved our own home to Highlands. Our little girls loved the trip - and when they are happy-everyone is happy! We can't wait to return!

This was my first experience with VRBO but everything worked very well. Our stay at Treehouse couldn't have been better. The house is so warm and comfortable, it felt like we were staying with old friends rather than renting a house. Very pleasant and conveniently located. We hope to return next year.
