  Just wanted to let you know what a wonderful time my sisters and I had at your beach house. I have stayed on many of the sea islands of SC but never that close to the ocean. I can understand why it is your dream. I was telling my husband about the island and your house and we are looking into when we can come back down this year and possible bring our pooch Rebel with us. I just fell in love with the island and I know my husband will as well. Thank you again for the use of your home, it was very comfortable and inviting. Margaret

  Our week at Mary's Dream was wonderful! Mary's Dream has always been my "dream". To go back in time, a time when my family vacationed on a very quiet family beach. To stay in an oceanfront beach cottage. What wonderful memories! Mary's Dream made them real again. Thank you!! Mary has thought of everything to make your vacation, not only nostalgic, but very comfortable. The cottage was very clean and provided modern day amenities. The wifi was excellent, esp. since our cell phone reception was minimal. The cable TV provided an excellent selection for viewing. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well. We loved the wrap around porch with gates. Our two poodles loved laying on the deck and we didn't have to worry about them. We had fairly nice weather for January and enjoyed sitting on the porch with our morning coffee. Nothing like the sun, sea and coffee to start your day. Thank you Mary and Richard for allowing us to stay in your cottage. We will be back and soon! Margaret and Tom

  Owner response: It is always our pleasure to share our home and especially so with like minded people like you. We put careful thought into building the decks around 3 sides of our home and covering the one in the middle. We wanted to allow the beach lover who doesn't necessarily want much sun the ability to enjoy the ocean under the covered deck. We also give the beach lover who wants as much sun as they can get the option of two decks; one of the decks has sun in the morning and one has sun until late in the afternoon! The gates were installed at the top of both sets of stairs to allow children and "fur-babies" the ability to run and play while giving parents and grandparents the ability to relax! We are so glad you enjoyed your vacation and look forward to having you return year after year.

  We have just arrived at Mary's Dream. It is awesome; I am in love with this place. It is so relaxing; just what I needed. I will have to come back again in the fall. It is so awesome! • WONDERFUL vacation house

  We had never been to Edisto and I have to say that both of us found this house and the area to be our favorite of all our vacations. We try to go someplace different each spring and fall. We hadn't been to South Carolina and our focus was finding a place that we could relax and also be close to Charleston, Beaufort & Savannah for day trips. We brought our 23 year old and 10 year old dogs with us (neither have ever been on a beach) and they loved it as much as we did. The house is wonderful, full of fun and charm. The deck is amazing. Typically on a vacation we like to sleep in, but we found ourselves waking up early in the morning to grab a cup of coffee and witness the most amazing sunrises we have ever seen. It was wonderful to fall asleep to and wake up to the sound of the ocean. Quite frankly, we have never been so sad to leave a vacation home and we have stayed in some top notch houses in the Adirondacks, North Carolina, New Hampshire, etc. We are usually looking forward to going home to our own bed by the end of a week's trip...but the bed (in the master bdrm) was so comfy. Sitting on the deck and watching tons of butterflies go by all day long was magical. We hope to come back again soon. Thank you for sharing this fabulous home.

  Hello! We had a great time again;the weather was lovely all week too so you gotta love that! The "Dream" looks great; we love the see thru deck and the new Lcd TV in the bedroom.   We really can't thank you enough for sharing your home with us. It's obvious your house is a home; it's not just a beach house. The love you feel for it shows in every room and we have fallen in love also and can't wait to go back. The clear railings on the deck are such a nice touch! After our shower in the late afternoon we would sit out and have a drink and it was just like being on the beach but no sand! We have spent more money (perhaps I shouldn't say this to you) but never had a better time; we will certainly be back and hope you continue sharing her for at least a few more years before you keep her to yourself; I know I would have a hard time ever sharing her if I owned her! We were happy with the sunshine each day and as the week went by it got warmer and warmer. We stopped in Charleston on the way to Edisto so on Thursday we spent the day in Savannah - it was great, I had never been there before. We also have never checked out Botany Bay - it was beautiful. My husband even went swimming everyday! I'm sending a couple of pictures to show how much we enjoyed our time. Hopefully we can come back again! Blessings on your day Linda
