Bear Pleasures could not have been more perfect. My family enjoyed the Arts and Crafts location and the flat parking made it much easier on my parents. The children enjoyed the loft sleeping area and pool table. The view was beautiful and we even had a late season snow shower which made it even better. The cabin was very clean and comfortable,as was the hot tub. This cul-de-sac is so peaceful and private. A great place to stay and I hope to return next year!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Excellent location. Easy to get to all locations. Had my grandchildren there for a week. Nice parking pad where we could play games, Grandchildren loved the screened in porch, since they are not fond of bugs that fly around at night. Clean, comfortable, and would rent again. Rental agent was very helpful.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

This cabin is awesome! Close enough to local attractions, but yet far enough away for privacy. This is a beautiful cabin and I highly recommend it to any one wanting to get away. It has all the conveniences of home. Couldn't have asked for a better place. I have stayed there numerous times and will be returning in the near future! The photos are good, but there's nothing like seeing it in person! Very clean! Close to Dollywood, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, restaurants & shopping locations!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Talk about CHARM!! This place has everything you could possibly ask for: atmosphere, nature, sicadas buzzing at night, and all the necessities of a home away from home. The beds are very comfortable, the fridge is cold and the hot tub is hot!! My two teenage boys were with us, and they had a blast. To be honest, when we arrived the air conditioner was not working, so we called Alpine and they sent a repair man that day. By the time we arrived back after a day of shopping and sightseeing, it was fixed!! All in all, I would highly recommend this place and would definatley come back!! Thanks for the memories.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Arnold and Lisa, Thanks so much for the wonderful review! We have been so blessed to be able to share our dream with families and help them to make lasting memories! My husband of 32 years passed away in July and we had so many wonderful memories of building and then using this cabin to make those memories that I cherish today! Let me know when you would like to go again and I will be happy to share our place with you any time I can!

An absolutely awesome visit! We were there from end-of-March to first-of-April '08 (five nights); enjoyed the cabin, enjoyed the sites of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, enjoyed the shows, enjoyed hiking, and even extended our stay in the cabin an extra night. We fell in love with the cabin upon our arrival, and on the day we left, our youngest son came into the living room and announced, "OK, we're NOT leaving!" My kids actually want to transfer their school up to your area and LIVE in YOUR cabin. It was a vacation we will never forget. My wife and I've even said it was our BEST vacation in our nearly 15 years of marriage. The staff at Alpine Rentals was FANTASTIC, too! They were VERY helpful anytime we had a question or concern. We'll see you again next spring break, from sunny Florida!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

What a beautiful spot! The best vacation we have had in a very long while! The accommodations were perfect for our group of 8, and the amenities were fun. The hot tub and pool table, the great eating area, the roomy kitchen, the comfortable beds, the location on a cul-de-sac so the kids had a spot to play safely outside, the rain on the tin roof, the view...the list could go on and on! The proximity to the sites in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg was nice, yet being up in the mountain, we felt like we were all by ourselves up there! We are already planning to make this a yearly trip, and will be staying at Bear Pleasures! You will enjoy every minute!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Great cabin Great getaway. Loved the hot tub. This was a Christmas gift for our father-in-law and mother-in-law. It was so terrific because it actually snowed while we were here. It actually seemed like Christmas in the Smokies. Thanks for the vacation!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Dale and Diane, What an amazing time we had this week. Thank you for sharing this beautiful cabin with us. We loved having the hot tub on the "enclosed" porch. No bugs! We also loved having the last cabin on the street. You have done a wonderful job amking us feel at home. The cabin was very clean when we arrived. we used every square inch of you place. We read your books, watched you movies and did our laundry! May God bless you for blessing us!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes, Stoplight 3A:
This is where my husband and I came for our honeymoon in 1978. We both were raised by hard working parents that did not travel alot. So for me that honeymoon trip to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge was a real treat. When we had an opportunity to think about a vacation home this was the first place we thought of. So in 2003 we had our cabin built. Then in 2005 I decided to quit work and we decided to offer our home to others who loved and wanted a great place to get away to. My husband passed away on July 14,2010. So now having built this cabin together and spending many wonderful times there, it is a very precious memory of wonderful times there with him and our children. I hope you and your family can come and share it with me and store some wonderful memories for your family!
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
We loved hiking the many trails in the National Park. We love eating at Calhoun's and the Park Grill. And the Greenbrier, which was originally an old hunting lodge, was a great place we would go and eat to celebrate our anniversay! There is great shopping and for me just sitting on the deck and reading a good book is wonderful!
