Front View - Big Pine Key Vacation This immaculate 1300+ square foot, 3 bedroom, 3 bath, two story canal-front home is situated on a fully fenced, corner lot directly facing, and less than a minute’s boat ride from Pine Channel. Located in the Eden Pine’s Colony subdivision of Big Pine Key, this home is a boater’s paradise, with a 70+ foot concrete and wood boat dock & seawall along a crystal clear canal, complete with a fish cleaning station and pool ladder. The neighborhood boat launch is minutes away, and once in the water, you are only a short boat ride from the open waters of the Atlantic, the protected waters of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, the world renowned dive & snorkel site of the Looe Key Reef & many nearby patch reefs, and of course, the back country. This vacation spot offers one of the best boating locations in Florida and the lower Keys. You don’t have to be a boater to love this vacation retreat. Relax at home when you’re not out exploring the waters, biking, or walking the nature trails of this spectacular island. This fully equipped home has cathedral ceilings and the perfect ambience and décor for a Keys retreat. There are 3 large bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms upstairs and 1 full bath downstairs (the guest bath has a Jacuzzi tub and shower), a laundry room, and an incredibly large upper porch deck facing the canal. Every room, except for the bathrooms and laundry room, has ceiling fans, and cable TV in each bedroom and the living room for a total of 4 TV's. Full cable TV package with hundreds of channels, plus pay per view, and wi-fi. The master bedroom has king size bed, huge dresser and TV cabinet and more drawer space, private bath and huge walk in closet equipped with a mini-library with hundreds of books for your reading pleasure. The second bedroom has a queen size bed, larger dresser, and another large walk-in closet, also stocked with hundreds of books. The third bedroom has twin beds, and another spacious closet. The fully equipped modern kitchen with breakfast bar overlooks the Great Blue Heron National Wildlife Preserve in the front of the house. Adjacent to the kitchen is the living/family room which opens out via an extra wide set of sliding glass (pocket) doors onto the screened porch and outside dining and relaxation area. The screened porch is outfitted with a dining set for 5, a tropical oasis with a calming fountain and plants nested near a more intimate seating area for 2. Exit the screened porch and you are outside on the portion of the deck open to the sun and sky, an excellent place for tanning, grilling, boat watching, or relaxing under yet another dining table ensemble complete with a shade umbrella. With the deck facing west over the canal, you can watch the incredible sunsets of the Florida Keys, iguanas sunning on the banks of the canal, the tiny Key deer and their young foraging for food, beautiful birds in flight, and all sorts of amazing wildlife. After all, this home is situated in the middle of several National Wildlife Refuges. Located downstairs is a third full bathroom, convenient for use after boat or canoe or kayak trips, walks, bike rides, or whenever. A storage room holds 3 bikes for guest use, as well as paddles and life jackets for use with the full size canoe located in the fenced backyard. The parking area is a raised concrete slab with three parking stalls, capable of parking several vehicles of all sizes in each stall, including a boat trailer, and there is additional parking available in the grass side yard. The front of the house and its balcony overlooks the Great Blue Heron National Wildlife Preserve, and with a vacant lot on one side of the house, and a mostly vacant house on the other side, this is a very private and quiet spot. If you want to adventure out, the Bahia Honda State Park rated as one of the top 10 beaches in the country is just 10 miles north of Big Pine- we have beach chairs & towels ready for you; Key West is just 30 miles south, and there are charter snorkel/dive and sport fishing opportunities all over the lower Keys. This house is both kid and pet friendly. Once you get here, you will never want to leave!
