This home is unique in design from the surrounding units in that it has an open kitchen/living room with a high ceiling. Each bedroom has a private bath; two with tubs; two with showers. The master suite is upstairs and has a large jaccuzzi tub/shower. It also has an incredible view. The middle bath off the living room can be used by guests. The deck on the front is 15 yards from the beach. You have a 180 degree view of the beach of Mustang Island (where Port Aransas is located. There is also the bedroom/bath downstairs at beach level, that we call the "surf shack". This room is rustic as it is literally on the dunes, so for those that are timid of the sand you will want to stay upstairs. It has a window unit a/c and three windows that look right on to the beach dunes. There is a nice walkway to access the beach with an outdoor area to rinse off after returning. This is a great place for children. You can see them from the house when they are on the beach. There is also a common area pool for you and your guests.
The house has some walls covered with cedar giving it a beachy feel. Also some large mounted marlin and sailfish. Tile floors in the living area ; with a drop living room where the kids usually hang out(carpet). The house has a washer & dryer to keep the towels coming. Also there is an extra refrigerator/freezer in the laundry room. You can surf and fish right in the front yard! Some beach accessories are available for your use, such as chairs and a few toys. The complex has opened an overflow parking that will accomodate boats and trailers. Across the highway and north about one half mile, boats can be launched in to the bay at Wilson's cut, that takes you to the Shamrock Island area. We do allow dogs. They must be kept on a leash. Also please park all but two cars in the overflow parking as the parking situation is very tight.
You can usually see the milky way galaxy and the pink light is incredible at dawn and dusk.
We are doing a light remodel in the month of December, 2011, so several things will be updated. We have also changed management to Port A Escapes, and will have better cleaning services and linens.

- You can fish in the surf right in front of the house. We have caught many fish there. Reds, trout, shark,pompano, blufish,spanish mackeral, whiting, croker etc.

Why the Owner Chose Lost Colony
It is about 7 miles out of Port Aransas, close enough to run in to town and far enough to get away from the crowds. It is between beach markers 78 and 79.
The Unique Benefits at this House
You can fish right in front of the house in the surf or in the bay just across the highway. I have caught many a fish(trout, reds, bluefish, whiting, shark, spanish mackeral,king mackeral, once a tarpon.
The front deck is about 20 feet from the primary dune!! You can easily walk to the beach or drive two miles south to the beach access road and come back and park in front of the house.
Located 2 miles North from beach access road #2. You can drive on the beach to the front of the house.

Hi,
This house has been in the family for twenty years. We have had so many great times here. To see the moon rise over the ocean is truly spectacular. Or the stars on a moonless night. You can still see the Milky Way galaxy! There is a 200 degree view of the coastline while sitting on the deck.
