Three adults stayed here for three days in March. While not high end (and we didn't expect that), the furnishings were very comfortable and the garden was a total delight. We had wine and dinner there two of the three evenings. The location of the house is excellent for walking throughout the historic district. The only complaint was the difficulty of making the TV/DVD work. We wanted to watch the news and a DVD but had great trouble with the controls. Otherwise this was definitely 5 stars for us.
Owner response:Thank you for the review. Sorry about the TV, we recenty upgraded the cable. The directions for both the TV and DVD have been revised and made clear. Glad you enjoyed the comforts of our home and courtyard!

My son and I came to this property so that he could participate in Georgia All State Chorus. It is a short walk to the Civic Center, where his rehearsals were held, or a bike ride, which he preferred. I was able to enjoy the courtyard and the wi-fi allowed me to get a little work done while I was here. This is a very comfortable house in a quiet neighborhood and was very clean and in good order for our visit.

Terrific value for the price -- a well kept property with a lovely courtyard. We ate about 1/2 of our meals at the house -- Kroger's is an easy drive, and even walkable if you are in fairly good shape and like to walk. Very easy walk to Forsyth Park, Georgia Historical Society, Mercer-Williams House, and several lovely squares. It is also a nice place to relax when you need a break. Very easy to work with Deb & Chuck! The Visitor Information Center on MLK Blvd. was a great place to start. Friendly, knowledgable staff, and they offer a good deal on a parking pass -- good for several ramps and all meters (except those with 1-hr. limits). FOOD: Blowin' Smoke BBQ on MLK Blvd. is a 4-block walk from the house -- great food and beer. We also enjoyed a 5-star dinner at River House Seafood & Bakery and a good breakfast at Huey's -- both on River Street. HOUSE TOURS: Williams-Mercer House KNOWS how to do a tour -- the best of the lot. Owens-Thomas and Davenport also have very good tours. We were a little disappointed with the Green-Meldrim tour, but it was OK. CEMETERIES: The Old Colonial and Bonaventure cemeteries were very interesting. We took a brief trip out to Tybee Island and Old Fort Jackson -- ran out of time, so did not see Fort Pulaski. We highly recommend The Savannah Walking Tour & Guidebook ($5.95). We used it alot and several locals told us that it was the best guidebook. Easy-to-follow walking tours with good historical information. Nicely done.

The condo was just as the picture showed...It was very clean with so many extras that you don't think to bring with you and the kitchen was fully loaded with spices, coffee, condiments, even aluminum foil....these extra things add up at the grocery store and then you have to haul them all back home with you...They were there when we arrived. For you beach lovers theres everything you need to take to the beach and enjoy the day chairs, umbrellas, sunscreen, towels, coolers etc.... And it has 2 tv's which I really loved because then I could watch something I like when he was watching sports. There is a new grocery store and at least 4 well known fastfood chains within a couple of blocks which was very helpful to us. Deb and her husband were really down home friendly southern people. They were helpful in getting us set up on such a short notice. So I would recommend staying here. For the price it is well worth it and a motel room doesn't even compare~~~~~~~~P.S. I even seen the police cruising really slow down the streets at night. So this made me feel really safe in this big nice tourist town...Plenty of shopping, eating, drinking and siteseeing for everyone.....Have a great time we did.....

We stayed here Nov. 2-9, 2010 and all was perfect. Loved being in a neighborhood rather than hotel, especially in this home full of character, art and special touches. A pleasure to just 'stay home' some evenings, cook our own meal, watch a DVD or read a book (Chuck & Deb have provided several about Savannah). Great location: 2 short blocks to Forsyth Park, a few more to downtown. Lots of info in the rental about things to do/see. Walking everywhere is a joy: historic architecture, many lovely squares and, oh, those majestic live oaks draped with spanish moss (sigh). A week isn't long enough for seductive Savannah to reveal all of her charms, but it's definitely long enough to achieve a very pleasant state of swooning.

I stayed in the upper room this past weekend and had a wonderful time. The bikes came in handy, and the rooms were more than what I had expected. The antiques and artwork gave the place a real Savannah feel adding to our already wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this place to others. This was my first experience with using vrbo dot com, and I am thoroughly impressed. Sorry hotels dot com, you don't compare.

We stayed in the lower unit for 6 nights in late April, 2009, and really enjoyed our stay. The accommodations were very nice and the extra amenities (wine, biscoti's, bikes, menus, books, beach/picnic accessories) were a great help. The location was only a few blocks from Forsyth Park and we felt it was a safe location. We used the courtyard often and the bikes really helped us travel around the historic district quickly. We've stayed at many VRBO properties and would easily recommend this as a good place to stay.

Perfectly situated for walking around Savannah. Beautifully decorated, many wonderful resources provided for getting around Savannah as well as some great books about the area. All the comforts of home and then some. A perfect spot whether you've been to Savannah before or if it's your first time.

We went to Savannah for my cousin's wedding and stayed four nights in this wonderful house. The downstairs unit was a perfect fit for my mom, son, husband and me. My mother's cousins took the upstairs unit and told me that they were very, very happy with my choice of accommodations. Deb thought of absolutely everything. The kitchen is well-stocked with anything we could have wanted, the bathroom has emergency supplies and there are even board games for a lazy afternoon! We were surprised by how much fun it was to sit around the table and play; it's a wonderful home for enjoying simple pleasures. My son particularly enjoyed bicycling through the streets of the historic district. We loved having the backyard, too. We thought we were just renting a house, but we ended up getting an experience. It felt as though we had stepped into a home that we didn't remember having, but it was somehow cozy and familiar. I highly recommend it!

We stayed in the lower unit with our two daughters just last week (March 19th through the 21st, 2008). It was conveniently located (2 blocks) to Forsythe Park and you could actually see the Park's famous fountain if you stood in the middle of the street outside the unit. We sat in the Courtyard each afternoon before heading out to dinner, enjoying the wonderful Spring temperatures and the plants that were all just starting to bloom. It was a leisurely walk to City Market, heading through a number of the squares for which this town is so famous. It was a great place to use as a base, as we explored the area for the first time. We will be back.

Beautiful home loved it the minute we walked in the door. Within easy walking distance of the squares. Everything we needed was in the home. The little things like salt and pepper.
