This is a very well located property with long views of the ocean. Clean and confortable with an attractive ambiance, including Japanese style shoji screens and windows. A private one acre property with a fabulous avacado tree among the many fruit trees,. The lower level bedroom (#3) is the least comfortable of the various spaces in the home...best described as a basement room. The listing description was accurate but the pictures do not do justice to the open and comfortable space. An excellent kitchen that is well supplied. The technology (TV/music) was adequate but could be improved: Good points are an iPod dock and housewide wi-fi. Areas for improvement would be an upgrade to flat screens and more than basic cable. Once again, a very good value and recommended as such.

Your beautiful home offered us a view of the "real" Hawaii. The setting was just perfect with the plush grounds, comfortable furnishings and incredible view. What a wonderful place to meet our 3 sons- one from Alaska, one from the Marshall Islands. It was fabulous!

There is a scent here when you drive back here from Hilo that is absolutely magical and intoxicating at night. Coming home here with a tasty beverage to enjoy on the screened lanai we have been seranaded the chorus of tiny frogs in the night. I think we have spent about 80% of our time on this lanai. Sunrise breaks on the morning clouds in mysterious and wonderfully soft tones- I think we've chosen a vacation in heaven! This is a lovely place. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us. We have come to the Big Island to celebrate many things. First of all, this is our honeymoon and we are here with Larry's parents as they are celebrating 60 years of marriage. We are also celebrating Christmas and the end of another year. The pool has been wonderful as has been the patio and screened lanai. The view is spectacular with the full moon over the ocean. Dining here has been so relaxing.

We had a lovely visit, the house was a comfortable base of operations for our explorations of the east side of the island. It was cooler than being in the city or on the Kona side by far. Akaka falls is a wonderful nearby treat.

We enjoyed enormously our relaxing stay at this home that had every facilty we desired. The children loved the pool. The location is just far enough out of town and we prefer the less touristy part of Hawaii to the resorts any day.

As a true-blue Type A, I found the time at this lovely and serene home a transforming treat. Take time to greet the morning sun and to allow the ocean to calm you. A day reading on the lania with an occasional trip to the pool is wonderful. If you must got to explore, try the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden on the 4-mile scenic Drive just down the street and to the right. It's one of the loveliest settings you'll ever see. Hilo town was a favorite as well. Let Kona have the trendy tourist traps...I'll take a real town like Hilo any day! You're in for a wonderful time...take time and enjoy.

We feel so fortunate to have been able to spend a week here in your lovely home. I've already spent time in Kona and Volcanoes so enjoyed a full week of exploring the East Island and relaxing here at "our home". A What's Shakin' Smoothie was a daily necessity. How fortunate that it's just down the street! This vacation was everything I hoped it would be. Mahalo for helping make that happen!

We've spent 2 weeks in your wonderful home here, we've felt like your family, slept in your bed, cooked in your kitchen and enjoyed the beautiful sun rises from the screened porch every morning we've been here. The quiet and peace are just exactly what we came her for. We come to Hilo every year but stayed in hotels before. I sincerely hope that your home will always be available to us. We appreciate you folks allowing us theis wonderful privilege of spending this time in your home. Our vacation has been the best! Thank you.

Many many heartfelt thanks for opening your lovely abode to us. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and it was a real austerity to leave the island. Having never been to any of the islands we actually had few expectations. Landing in Kona was similar to our imaginings of the moon and at the same time the desert so we felt quite at home. We had an extraordinary time--snorkling,swimming with the turtles, hiking Kilawea Iki and upper Waipi'o Valley to name a few--you know so well. We're hooked and so grateful to have finally gotten there. Your home was so cheery and comfy, simple and elegant. Thanks for making it available to us.

I wanted to write and tell you what a wonderful time I had while staying at your Pepeekeo “Sunshine House”. It felt as though the sun was inside the house with me — thus the name I have given to it. You definitely have a part of heaven on earth there!!! I felt grateful to be meditating in the sacred space and swimming in your pool, for the health of it.The birds were so enjoyable in color and song and the variety of plants and flowers were luscious and invited the naturalist in me to explore each one in detail. We explored much of the Big Island throughout the week and walked on a three week old lava flow on Kileaua! Very exciting! I am grateful to have had the opportunity of experiencing your home and the Big Island. Thank you very much.

We enjoyed our visit immensely and felt very comfortable in your elegant but relaxed home. Found everything we needed, including a teapot - (except an alan wrench to unjam the disposal after we gave it a bit too much to digest at one time). The pool was perfect for an early morning wake-up swim, and we were usually out all day till evening when we got home to fix supper that we enjoyed on the porch. Then we watched a movie or some TV. Your guidebooks and maps were also very helpful. We really could have stayed another week or 2 very happily and will definitly be in touch next time we can get away to the Big Island.

Just back, I already long to return to Hawaii and it's warm tropical breezes, to Hilo - a town with everything I wanted and just the right size, but maybe most of all to this house. I could spend forever sitting in the screened in porch, with a warm breeze, watching the barges come down the eastern side of the Big Island eventually stopping at the Hilo port. Or maybe what I liked best was the morning sun so huge and gold as it rose from the ocean. I could see it from the bedroom through the palm leaves without lifting my head from the pillow. It was more perfect than you can imagine. The house was soooo comfortable. It didn't have any of the sterile feel rentals can have. Fours of us (my husband, myself, an adult friend, and my 14 year old son) stayed for 17 days and we had plenty of room and privacy. It could easily accommodate 6. Nice places to join together and comfortable places to be alone. Three of us are cooks so the farmer' market in Hilo was a special delight for us and the kitchen had every single item we desired

We want to say again that we enjoyed your Hawaii home very much. The eastern influence was delightful, and it was relaxing there. Even enjoyed perusing some of your books. It was just the right ambiance so we were comfortable with our home base while we explored many properties ourselves. Thanks
