Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Monroe grew up on this farm and I have been living here for the past 36 years. We do not allow hunting so the chances of you seeing a large herd of deer are especially good every day. Monroe is retired after being a Union Carpenter for 36 years. I work in an elementary school teaching grades K - 4 how to handle themselves with a computer. We have two dogs who pretty much rule the farm. One is a Dutch Sheppard and the real boss of the family is a long-haired miniature dauchound.
Why the Owner Chose Beltzville Lake
This rental was part of the surrounding farm that we bought in 1992 when Monroe's father passed away.
The Unique Benefits of this House
You will be able to enjoy the peace and quiet of country living. The cottage is at the end of a dead end road and is surrounded by woods. You will be able to take a mile long walk through the woods and enjoy nature at its best. The deer roam freely on the farm. There is no hunting allowed so they pretty much have free range. The cottage is private enough to keep you away from any loud noises.

We were a party of four adults, one infant, and two dogs, and we thoroughly enjoyed our late-summer weekend stay at Nan's vacation home. The rustic cottage has the essentials for a relaxed, close-to-nature break and is located close to the Beltzville Lake park, which is verdant, with lots of scenic trails. Nan was extremely gracious and accommodating throughout the process; she responded promptly to emails, shared tips about the area, and allowed us to leave much later than the stipulated check-out time.
Owner response:I want to thank Karen for her gracious words. It was a pleasure to have Karen and her friends and family. We hope that they come back to enjoy the cottage and the deer again very soon. Thank you Karen!

My husband and I (and dog - Libby Mae) thoroughly enjoyed our week at this getaway. We pulled in the driveway the first day and there were 8 deer in the yard. The owners are so sweet and accomodating. We enjoyed leisurely walks through the woods - a nice bonfire at night - and saw deer every day! I've never seen my husband so relaxed on a vacation. We can't wait to come back!
Owner response:We are so glad that Jim and Karen were able to come and enjoy their vacation with us. They were able to relax and take leisurely walks through the woods and watch the deer. They enjoyed a campfire in the backyard while rekindling a closeness they hadn't enjoyed for some time. Come and enjoy the seclusion of a cottage in the woods and find the slow-paced life that helps you unwind and get laid back.
