Why the Owner Chose Clayton
I chose this property because it has been in my family and it is only 1 1/2 hr drive from my home. I have been traveling to Clayton NY for over 40 years.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
Clayton is a small town with lots of history for families to enjoy. The cottage has a great view of the main channel and it is on an island that has history of one of the famous hotels use to stand in the late 1800's.
The screen porch is a great feature for those rainy days as well as nice days. Many families use this for evening gatherings.
Owner's Map of Clayton
I am the half owner of this victorian cottage. I grew up in the summer in the 1000 islands. My family would spend time with my grandparents at this place. There are many memories for us.

Family Vacation..... This is our 2nd year staying at the cottage. It has all the comforts of home. We had big family dinners, fishing, kayaking, water skiing, and jumping off the new tower. We hiked around the island and played tennis. We went to Kingston, The Boateak, and The Bay Drive In. There is so much to do. Great trip with great resturants and lots to do

This was from our guestbook....If you are looking for the comforts of home, island life, and adventure, this is for you. The cottage offers you the comfort of home all you have to bring is yourselves. We loved the screen in porch which offers a gorgous view, tables to dine at and a sitting area for you to enjoy a bug free evening. We went hiking on the trails and got to see a fox. We also used the tennis court and checked out the post office where you can learn about the Frontenac Hotel. This will be an experience that we will not forget.

This island house was perfect for 5 couples that shared it. Plenty of room, practical furnishing, and very relaxing. Swimming off the boathouse was good for the swimmers in the group, and particulary enjoyed using the big screened in wrap-around porch. We had two boats to get around in and we would boat to Clayton's free docks and walking across the road for ice cream. We also enjoyed boating over to Alex Bay and dining at the floating dock restaurant that is next to Capt. Tompson's. Of Course Boldt Castle is a must see, but just cruise among the islands is lovely. Round Island has a tennis court on the grounds of what was the Frontenac Hotel. There are boating charts of the area available in the house, so that boaters can stay out of trouble. If you are looking for luxury, quiet life, the water, and a bit of adventure, I think this property fits the bill.
