We had an amazing time at Villa Ultima, everything was perfect in your home. It was the most well equipped home we have ever rented. The location cannot be better, so convenient to be able to walk to the Harbour, great restaurants and entertainment is all within walking distance. You were so great to deal with, everything you would want and need to know was so well documented. We are looking at our dates for next year and will be in touch. Thanks again, Doris & Kevin Tracey

Wonderful vacation

Couldn't ask for more! The house was very clean and stocked with everything we needed. We rented a boat for fun on the water ways, after a great day on the water we would come back for a relaxing dinner and warm swim. Thank you Ed& Karen. You had so much helpful information, that it made our vacation planning worry free.

Let me start by saying Ed and Karen are absolutely amazing people to deal with. The was never a question unanswered or a detail in the house that was overlooked. This house contained every gadget you could want and things I couldn't figure out. ( Not much of a chef) Often there were two of everything as a back up. My husband, myself and two sons 18, 21 stayed for 3 weeks over Christmas and New Years. The fishing rods got a very good workout daily and the boys caught numerous fish of many varieties. Beach chairs were also used extensively!!! What a nice touch. The weather was simply perfect. The location to the marina was wonderful. We walked there numerous times a day and took in the atmosphere at the ball drop New Years eve. The proximity to the grocery and pharmacy stores were very handy as well. This upscale neighborhood has such a safe and peaceful atmosphere . The beds were very comfortable and the bedding luxurious. We used the BBQ twice for a change. We vacation often and I would put this vacation at the top of our list. Many fun memories were created and will be cherished forever. I would recommend this home to anyone with a desire for the perfect vacation home with an outstanding location. Sadly we had to leave but plan on coming back again.

Relaxing in paradise

We recently stayed at Villa Ultima on our vacation to Cape Coral/Ft. Myers Beach. The previous house we stayed in was sold and no longer available. We came across this property on vrbo.com and it met our needs in terms of space. The owners were extremely easy and pleasant to deal with. Upon final payment we received very thorough instructions for "check-in" along with detailed descriptions of the home's amenities (which there are many) and the surrounding area. The surrounding area is very nice. The Cape Harbour Marina is a nice setting for dinner, gelato, an early morning run and latte, and then more gelato! We were about 20 minutes from Ft. Myers Beach which was also very nice. The home itself is immaculate. Each of the beds are extremely comfortable, the layout is fantastic, the appliances are all well maintained and high end. It is obvious the owners take pride in their vacation home. The owners insisted if there was anything we needed not to hesitate to call providing us with both of their cell phone numbers. Not wanting to bother them, we nearly went out for propane for the grill only to realize they had a full backup on hand. The pool is very relaxing and the lanai is perfect for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and drinks! After long mornings at the beach, naps for the kids and happy hour for the adults led to relaxing evenings with great weather! We felt as if we were in a private resort! We anticipate being back!

Hello Karen and Ed, Well been home for a week and hating it already. Minus 3 today and suppose to go to -15 by end of week, so definitely dreaming about being back at your fabulous home right now. We can't begin to tell you how much we enjoyed every aspect of our vacation and your house. Lorne and myself both love to cook so it was so nice having the kitchen stocked with every possible, bowl, plate, pots, utensils and most spices that we would need. We BBQ'd every day except once when we went down to the Marina. It was also great that everyone got their own King bed and bathroom and since the one couple couldn't make it, we made good use out of the queen room as well when Lorne was snoring too loud I would either kick him over there or move over myself. We golfed about 5 days and although the courses were quite wet as there had been quite a bit of rain we still had a great time and the prices were exceptional. We normally go to Palm Springs or Phoenix and they are both quite a bit more expensive. We would like you to thank Jerry as well for coming over and showing us how to use everything and it was nice that he was only a phone call away although everything ran smoothly so didn't have to bother him. Anyway if we make it back that way your house will definitely be where we are going to stay even if we have to work our schedule around the availability. Anyway have a wonderful day and I am sure we will talk to you again sometime for a future rental. Deb and Lorne

Dear Ed & Karen We would like to take this time to let you know how truly blessed we are to have found such a beautiful home to enjoy with our family(s). We appreciated all the information you provided us prior to our arrival. Our first walk through the doors of Villa Ultima was simply "breathtaking" and knowing we were staying in such luxurious surroudings confirmed what we suspected from the start... we had found our "little piece of paradise" on Cape Coral. So much attention to detail no matter what room we were in. We wanted for absolutely nothing. We so enjoyed relaxing in the pool with our children and boating to as many destinations as we could squeeze into one week... Fort Meyers Beach, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, Pine Island. Just cruizing through the canals and taking in the beauty of the neighborhood scenery were all treats beyond compare. Dolphins, sea turtles, manatee's, stingray, osprey, and numerous sea birds were a daily source of "awe" for all of us. Thanks so much for sharing your home away from home with all of us. Hi Ed & Karen Well, it was our 6th visit this year and every time is as wonderful as the first. We know that the Villa is always going to be immaculate, spotlessly clean and extremely well maintained. The facilities are first class and we never cease to be thrilled every time we walk through the front door. It is the little things that make all the difference. Ed rang to make sure we had arrived safely, and at the end of our holiday Karen rang to make sure our stay had been okay and to ask us if there was anything they could do to improve things. Our response - how can you improve on perfection ? We are already planning our next visit and thank you both for sharing your beautiful home. Wonderful Time - Hated to leave

We spent the week of Memorial Day at Villa Ultima and wish it could have been a month! The property is everything you could wish for and is just as beautiful as the pictures depict. The pool area is purfect. There is always an area of shade to sit under for those who need to stay out of the sun. The pool was wonderful. We had a mini-family vacation with my 86 year old mother, and two brothers and their wives. It worked out great. Having multiple rooms with king size beds was important as both of my brothers are tall and need the extra area. We found many great restaurants to sample and did some grilling on our own. You don't have far to go to get food and liquid supplies. There are Sam's Clubs and Costcos in the area as well. If you are thinking about it, don't hesitate. You won't be disappointed.

Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We had never been to Florida but had always wanted to go. Staying at Villa Ultima was the best choice we could have made. The pictures truly do not do it justice. The house and location are perfect. We really enjoyed biking to the marina and all it had to offer. Pignoli's restaurant was a great find. Delicious food for a fair and reasonable price. We were able to get out and about since we had a rental car. We went to Ft. Myers beach, Pine Island and Cape Coral. The people are very open and friendly, true Southern hospitality. We were there the first week of November and the weather was perfect! And this is from a couple from Los Angeles. Thanks again, Karen and Ed. you guys are super. Jeanine and Rick Gray

We had a lovely fortnight at Villa Ultima in June/July 2008. The house is exceptionally well located and a real home-from-home. Thanks to Karen and Ed for their friendly welcome and we hope to be back again very soon!

We had a great fortnight and are hugely delighted to have discovered such a lovely base in Cape Coral. Over the past 14 years, we've rented a number of different houses in the area, amongst which yours is outstanding - it's so well equipped and cared for, and the location for us as avid boaters was fabulous! Meeting a couple of dolphins and then, on another day, a grazing manatee, all in the canal just around the corner from Ultima was a highlight we shall always treasure!"

Dear Ed and Karen, I think my family was one of the first to stay in your lovely home. We loved it so much! You furnished it with such good quality pieces - furniture, beds, linens, etc. that staying there was a real treat. The pool is wonderful, the water access to Sanibel Island by boat so direct. Everything was just perfect!

Dear Karen and Ed: I have to say, staying at your house in Cape Coral was better than staying at a five star hotel...never did find the butler though.... Having never used the internet as a way to rent a house, I was a little nervous about the whole procedure. But the way you and Ed handled the whole thing from start to finish, I have to say that I was more than happy with the whole experience and would be happy to use this way of renting again on another vacation. You have made the house warm and comfortable. One of the other ladies hair dryer went out and without you guys missing a skip, there was already a hair dryer under the sink for her to use and not just one hair dryer but I think one for every bathroom. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting out on the patio in the evening with our snacks and wine/beer and sharing the day after watching our son's play in their college baseball tournament. The weather was absolutely perfect - the two couples from Ohio were thrilled to get away from the cold and even my husband and I were glad that the weather was warmer in Florida than in California. Thank you again for sharing your home...if 10 was the highest rating you could receive on your house, then I would rate it an 11!!!!! Cathy and Bill Jezierski El Cajon, California

We have rented many houses in the area over the past few years and we all agreed that your house stands head and shoulders above all the others we have rented. So many lovely extra touches - we were all so sorry that we had to come back home. I honestely do not think that there is anything you could do to improve the house for vacation rental - it lacks nothing - you have thought of everything - even a tea kettle - that was something else we had to buy last time we came to Cape Coral! Please do not be concerned about the fourth bedroom - it suited us just fine. There was plenty of hanging space plus drawer space Many, many thanks once again. Hi Karen and Ed Just to let you know we have arrived at Villa Ultima. The name does not do it justice. My kids think you should rename it Villa Outofthisworld!!! My mother and my son also had a wonderful time. In fact, had a hard time peeling them out of the pool every day. It took us nearly the entire week we were there to search behind every door and in every closet, but alas, we could not find Robin Leach. We hope to visit again in the future. Ever thankful and rested, Cindy Griffith and Sarah Caniglia (and Michael and Peggy) Dear Ed & Karen, There was probably close to 55 for dinner - all the boys which was 22 and then several of their parents - we served chicken/beef burritos and beans and rice on the bar and then had snacks all over...we put the desserts on the little bar and it worked out great...everyone was mostly hanging around the pool or in it and then down on the dock enjoying the beautiful weather and water...we never did find the keys to the boat - hahaha!!!! But we never felt crowded either - the flow of the house was perfect!!!! Thanks again - I am happy that your family felt that we took good care of your house, we treated it just like we would be at our own... Cathy
