The condo was as advertized--nice view ,well furnished and equipped. We stayed here four weeks, Oct 10-Nov 6, 2011. We ate all meals on the lanai. Enjoyed watching all the activity on Honl's beach and park. The pool and barbeque are well maintained and the complex has security. Sunsets are beautiful from the complex. We had a rental car, but it is an easy walk to town for restaurant and famers market. The Farmers Market is great with local produce and crafts items. It is held Wed-Sun weekly and prices are good. There are many parks and beaches nearby for snorkel and surfing. There are many surfers, fishermen, and picnicers in front of the complex or at the beach next door. The unit has WI-Fi and washer and dryer which are nice to have. We had a nice breeze when leaving the lanai and front door open. Did not use the air conditioner. I would recommend this unit to others. Great for a couple or family as sofa makes into bedl.

What a pleasant surprise as this condo exceeded all our expectations! Location was great. We could have walked into town every day. Furnishing...great. Island decor and very comfy. Ease of checking in and out...great. The people at the front desk were both kind and helpful with directions. The view...great! I spent most of my mornings and evenings enjoying the lanai and direct beachfront view which was both hypnotizing and relaxing! We never had to use the air conditioner since the breeze coming in from the open lanai doors proved all that was needed to be very comfortable. We loved all the extras...we made use of all the beach equipment (umbrellas, chairs, snorkel equipment, towels, boogie boards, etc.)and found all of it in great working condition! I would certainly stay here again and would recommend it to all my friends! Thank you Kathy for always being so friendly and helpful with all my questions!

Thank you so much for sharing your lovely condo with us. Although in previous years we stayed in Building A, oceanfront, we enjoyed the views from B building just as much. Always something of interest at the beach, including surfers and offshore whales. Family members rented 2 other condo's in B building, and we all commented that yours was by far the best decorated. Mahalo!

We had a wonderful stay in this unit, and definitely look forward to a return visit. The unit is well stocked, and the facility is beautiful and well maintained. The view from the lanai is breathtaking. We saw whales and dolphins swimming by!! The unit is located within walking distance of the shops and restaurants in Kona, and there is a nice beach park right next door. I would definitely recommend a stay in this unit!!

Our stay in this condo couldn't have been more perfect. It had everything we needed and the furnishings were lovely. The view was so pretty and exactly what you imagine when you think of Hawaii. We absolutely LOVED the sound of the waves during our times on the lanai. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to anyone planning a trip to Kona. Even though we had rented a car, it was great to have so many places; restaurants ['On the Rocks' was my personal favorite since you could sit outside and enjoy the ocean, the sunset & also the nightly entertainment] and shopping within walking distance. We had a great time exploring the island and seeing all the beauty that is everywhere you look. Hope to return someday..

We really enjoyed staying in this unit. It was every bit as good as the description here on vrbo.com. The location is perfect, central to the various Kona activities we did and within easy walking distance to all the stores and restaurants on the upper section of Ali'i drive. The Kona Reef is a very nice owner-occupied condominium complex right on the main strip in Kona. You might expect it to be noisy but we never noticed anything but the sound of the ocean. The design of the lanai is angled i.e. has you looking squarely at the beach and it channels the sound of the waves right into the unit. Although being out on the lanai is best, the conveniently located mirror panels on several walls mean you are never far from a gorgeeous ocean view, even while preparing a meal in the kitchen. This owner has the unit decorated in a very nice tropical theme and set up with everything you could need while visiting the Kona Coast even including an in-unit washer & dryer which was very convenient for us. Downstairs the pool & spa area was great, very clean and the maintenance crew was regularly checking to make sure everything was functioning properly. Alongside the pool area was one of the best outdoor cooking facilities I've ever used. Four giant stainless BBQs meant there was never any waiting to find cook space, in fact the place could host a large party with ease. From here we based several day trips - visiting the gorgeous beaches of Kehaka Kai State Park, the hillside coffee plantations above Kona, had an absolutely perfect day of kayaking and snorkeling at both Kealakekua and Honaunau bays near Captain Cook and a went for a lengthy road trip up through the Kohala mountains with a hike down into Polulu valley and the return trip via Hapuna and Anaehoomalu Beaches along the North Kohala coast. We hope to return to Kona for another visit as soon as we can, maybe bringing our grown children next time and I would look forward to coming back to this unit if we could arrange it. The owner is very helpful with lots of friendly communication and I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.

Two friends and I went for a girls getaway (all in our 20s) we loved the fact the condo had a very central location and was within walking distance to the shops and restaurants. The condo itself looks out over a little sandy beach which you can swim in. Everything that we could possibly need was provided and we had nothing to worry about except having a good time!

This condo was everything it was advertised to be. A wonderful, quiet location, with an easy walk to shops and restaurants. The view of the surfing beach provides entertainment all day long. We met many of the on-site owners who were very hospitable - sharing beach equipment, food and information. The condo itself was very clean, and had everything we needed, and then some. The pool and bbq area, which look out over the ocean were ideal. We would highly recommend a holiday here!

This condo is in an beautiful location, looking on to a public beach with sea turtles. It is within walking distance to Kona shopping and resturants. The unit itself is well-ventilated with three ceiling fans, including one on the lanai, which makes it very pleasant if you prefer not to use the air-conditioning. It is very tidy and has everything a person needs including internet access. The condo pool and barbeque area was very nice and well-maintained. The owner was very pleasant to deal with when booking the unit. I found this condo to be an excellent choice for my husband and two small children. We had an amazing time and the accomodations exceeded our expectations.

This Kona Reef condo was beautifully decorated and in the best location in Kona. We saw inside many other units and this was one of the most nicely appointed. It was worth every penny and more. Don't hesitate to stay!
