Great Family Vacation at Hawk's Cay on Duck Key!

Our in-state vacation was just great at this "Villa"! The two bedrooms and full kitchen were much better then a single hotel room for my husband and I, our 2 year old and my mother-in-law visiting us in FL for the week from Arkansas. The view from the patio & master bedroom is really that dock (and better then the pictures) and water in the owner's picture...where my husband fished everyday (he has a license) after a 1 minute drive to the dockside store for live bait....where enormous tarpon fish are swimming around the docks in swarms...fun for the 2 year old to see! Hawk's Cay resort is beautiful and we went to the resort pool, & lagoon (a nice clean "fake beach" next to the pool) and "Ocean" restaurant...warning: 18% gratuity automatically added to every meal & even to each drink at the beach side grill! But good food and drinks....The Fish Company down the street in Marathon is worth a drive, food, and the view. The house was very clean and nicer then a hotel room, only problem was our newly potty trained 2-year old likes to go a lot and there is no bathroom on the first floor...we went up the steep stairs a lot. Patio is nice with table and plenty of chairs and loungers, the spa is nice and very hot! Beds were like clean white hotel beds with crisp sheets. A/C works great. There was plenty of towels and kitchen items for use. You will need more trash bags if you plan on eating dinner in, or just having trash, only 2 provided. We would definitely return here, the view and resort are really great and if you go the right time of year it's a great deal! Thanks to the owner, Jeanne, for emailing me after so many questions, letting us book at the last minute, and for sharing your villa! The only downside, which was an upside for my single mother-in-law, was that the private home across the canal had older adults who liked to be naked outside all hours of the day and night while they partied.

We just returned from our stay and couldn't be happier with the villa. The villa was very clean and comfortable to stay in. We traveled with small children so the gated patio was perfect to keep the kids entertained and in close watch. The Brandt's are wonderful people to work with. We are already planning our next trip back.

My husband and I stayed here in April 2013. We enjoyed our stay. The townhouse was everything we expected and more. The welcome basket was an added touch that was greatly appreciated! The townhouse was very clean and as described; with an added bonus of dishwasher and laundry detergent!!! Also, the kitchen had every accessory you could possibly ever need! Hawks Cay was within walking distance. We went snorkeling and on a fishing charter both right there at HawksCay. We were able to utilize all of the resorts amenities. We would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway either couples or families.We are already wanting to plan a trip back withour extended family and will hopefully be able to rent one of Jeanne's bigger properties for that trip because I know it will be perfect!! They also left us a phone number to contact someone in case of emergency; which I felt was very nice. Although everything was perfect and we had no reason to call! Had a blast!!!

Comfortable and Clean!

The Condo is comfortable and very clean, the patio was the perfect spot for morning coffee and evening cocktails. The overall space is well laid out and the canal view off the patio is just as pictured. We had no problem using all of the resort amenities. Tito's burned down the week before we arrive and the rest of the resturants in the resort are horrible. (we tried Ocean and the Beach Grill) Needless to say the condo's kitchen was well used and honestly the bad resort food gave us the opportunity to explore other islands. We will definitly return and when we do we will stay in this unit.

First time in the Keys for me. Traveled with family members with one group in this villa and another in a villa owned by the resort. We greatly enjoyed our time in the Brandt's very well maintained villa which was better maintained than the resort's. Beds were so comfortable, kitchen well equipped for doing our own cooking (we had a chef in our group), enjoyed eating outside on patio area & relaxing in the spa. Jeanne was also in Hawk's Cay at the time & even spent the time to stop over to give us restaurant & attraction recommendations. We tried a number of them, ranging from unique joints to a restaurant with great cuisine & fantastic sunset view. Descriptions & photos are accurate; I'd highly recommend the property & would love to stay there again!

Amazing Vacation Spot

I visited with my fiance, my twin sister and her fiance. We really enjoyed our stay at the Villa. It was very clean, the welcome basket was just what we needed after a few hours of traveling. If anything, the photos do not represent how AMAZING the backyard jacuzzi / spa pool is... it was our favorite spot to relax. We were there every morning and night, it is larger than appears in the photos. We had no problem using any of the amentities at the resort. You can order drinks at the pool, we just had to use a credit card instead of a room key and order from the bar. We did not try to order from the servers that walked around, but you may be able to do so. Thanks again for the great trip.

Great Accommodations

We really enjoyed our stay at this Hawk's Cay location. Very nicely appointed. New beds were very comfortable. Enjoyed walking to all amenities. Granddaughter enjoyed swimming and kayaking in the lagoon. Enjoyed New Years Eve fireworks display and band at Hawks Cay Resort. Had a wonderful time with our family. Would highly recommend this property. We are very particular about cleanliness and this property was very clean and comfortable. Owners are very nice , hospitable and easy to work with. Welcome basket was very nice. Thank you for sharing this great property with us.

Beautiful Condo

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The unit was extremely clean and in excellent condition. The owner was a joy to work with and upon arrival, she had left a nice basket filled with goodies. My only suggestion is to work into the directions "When you turn into Duck Key, take the first left into Hawk's Cay". It was dark and we missed the turn. Thanks for sharing your beautiful place with us and also for the great owner communications!

What a great place to stay!

My husband and I, along with one of our best friends, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in this condo! It was super clean - a must in my book, and had everything we needed for our week stay. I spent most of my time in the back yard reading my book and enjoying the splash pool (it was heated as a jacuzzi, but due to the weather, we asked the pool guy to turn off the heat and used it as a refreshing pool instead)! The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked and the beds were comfortable! There were TV's in both bedrooms as well! I couldn't have asked for more and I look forward to staying here again!

The property was lovely and very comfortable for the four of us. It was so clean! Went to the Tranquilty pool almost every day and just relaxed and soaked up the sun.Perfect location as you could drive either north or south to great restaurants. Had dinner at Lazy Days South twice. Can't wait to make a return trip.

My family and I had great time at one of your properties for the second time this year. We loved the private backyard and jacuzzi. The property at Hawks Cay is gorgeous and the kids had a great time in the pool and lagoon. My husband loved the little welcome basket filled with snacks. We look forward to our next trip. The townhouse was better than advertised. Everything was very clean and in good condition (bathrooms, kitchen). The location was perfect and we were able to have our boat right around the corner from the unit. We even loved the welcome basket awaiting us when we walked in the first day. The owner was so nice and helpful and we will be back as soon as we can.

Our recent stay was overall what we expected....beautiful The house had everything you needed and more . the owner did tell us about the property before we went so we knew that the pool area we could use however we could not order drinks and food which we didn't think would bother us but it was a little inconvenient. We would defiantly recommend to others Thanks again.

Nice, cozy Townhouse

This is a good place to stay for a family. The property is clean and the property manager is extremely helpful with information, grocery shopping, etc...! The splash pool is convenient and the townhouse has a limited view of the water. The only negative is there are no downstairs bathrooms. It can sleep 6 with the pull out couch, but with 4 teenagers, it was a bit tight without a 3rd bathroom. You can use all of the amenities of Hawk's Cay except ordering drinks/food at the pool. The marina, Indie's Club, bike rentals and restaurants all take cash/credit. The pool workers say you don't have access/ use of the pool, but you don't need to check in and can get towels easily. So we found this property very economical without paying the Resort up charge.

Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

The perfect family getaway!

We can't imagine a more perfect place to vacation with your family. We could only get the villa for three nights because it was already booked, and the place we stayed afterward didn't compare. From lazy days by the Hawks Cay pool and state park hopping to a day in Key West and a morning of back country fishing, this villa was the perfect place to come back to late afternoon. TVs in all the rooms which was great for our teenagers, as well as free WiFi. We enjoyed breakfasts on the back patio and plenty of opportunity to eat meals in or have left overs in the fully stocked kitchen. A quick stroll to the Hawks Cay marina for dinner or ice cream made for relaxing evenings and picturesque scenery. Islamorada and all it's activities were less than a 30 minute drive north, and we had easy access to Marathon just 10 minutes south. We would highly recommend the Keys Fisheries in Marathon, tour of the Turtle Hospital, Mango Mike's in Islamorada and Blue Heaven in Key West. The owners and property manager were exceptionally nice and easy to work with. Photos were accurate. Property was clean. Great family memories were made here. We'll definitely be back!

Great Townhouse in a great resort

We stayed at this property in between Christmas and New Years and found the property to be filled with many things to do. Quite different than your normal home/townhome rental. It had much more of a resort feeling. The only drawback that we found were: No bathroom on the first level and (I beleive) the owner doesn't put the unit in the property management rental pool, so you don't get to use all the benefits of the property. We tryed to order drinks while at the pool and we we're told that we had to show a key (like that at a hotel). This unit has a combination type lock so there isn't a key. Consequently, we couldn't order drinks and probably couldn't fully take advantage of all the benefits of the property.

WONDERFUL STAY

We took a last minute trip and stayed at this villa. The owner explained to us that they had recently purchased the villa so we were 1 of the first guests to be housed here. It was my husband and I and our 3 kids. We had everything we needed and the villa was perfect. My daughter and I spent the days laying at the pool, while my husband and 2 sons fished the days away. The Jacuzzi spa on the private patio was nothing short of fabulous! Sitting out there at night after the kids went to bed with a glass of wine was just the most perfect way to end a day. The boys fished right off the pier behind the villa if they weren't out in the boat that we had rented. Jeanne gave us recommendations from boat rentals to spas and everything in between. My daughter and I visited the spa in Marathon called The Skin Institute, worth the 10 minute drive. We already want to go back!! If you want a great place to stay with an owner that caters to the guests, you've found it with this villa!

This was a beautiful place to stay. This townhouse offered everything we needed for a great vacation. We were right near the marina. The owners are great people to work with as well. On a scale of 1 - 10, I would rate the whole experience as a 10!
