A group of six of us had a long weekend getaway to see the sights and sounds of SF/Taos. We had a great time - the house was a perfect base for seeing the downtown sights and Canyon Road galleries. The house did not lack for anything - they even had martini glasses! Grocery store with good gourmet selections was just a block away. Hottub was great at night. Next SF trip we'll being staying there again.

This is a large, charming home filled with thoughtful furnishings and suited to groups of various sizes and configurations. We received excellent communication throughout the rental process, and would not hesitate to stay at Capitol Casa when we return to Santa Fe. The location is phenomenal, but the street is quiet, residential. The owners have decorated the home with lovely and eclectic pieces, as well as with practical ones where needed. The beds were comfortable and the linens were excellent. Everything was clean and fresh.The entire experience was great from beginning to end.

We booked the Capitol Casa for a group of 10 girls - our annual Aggie girls trip! We have been traveling together for almost 20 years visiting many cities and trying differen types of lodging. This was by far our favorite trip! The house was superb for a large group of ladies. We had several areas to congregate and chat over (many) bottles of wine! The bedding was delicious as was the general decor. We walked to town several times a day, drove to Ten Thousand Waves Spa, and even cabbed it to and from El Arbol for some dancing. We all look forward to our next visit!

Family Reunion

For a family reunion the front porch and dining area with a huge dining room table provided helpful gathering places. Individual a/c units were appreciated as well. Service personnel prepared the hot tub, and a friendly gardener hoped that he did not disturb the occupants. The location is outstanding, providing walking distance to the sights and sites of downtown Santa Fe. There were lots of games for the young people, and the accommodation of 16 people was greatly appreciated.

Six of us recently stayed here during a family reunion. It was perfect for that sized group and would also be great for even larger groups. Close to everything. The house is spacious and we never felt crowded. Extensively used the front porch as a gathering place. Highly recommend staying here if you want to feel like you are at home.

There were 13 of us staying at Capitol Casa and we feel it was one of our best family reunions ever. The house was perfect for a large group. We still were able to have a fair amount of privacy despite the large group. The house was furnished beautifully and several of us commented on the hominess of the house. The fresh flowers and the attention to detail,like lots of clean towels and lots of information about things to do, places to eat, etc., helped make our stay enjoyable. Our one small plumbing issue was scheduled with the plumber as soon as we called about it. We couldn't have asked for a better location. We could walk to all of the downtown locations and much more. An Ideal Reunion Spot

Seven members of my immediate family enjoyed four days and nights in Santa Fe in late May. Capitol Casa proved to be a great home for us, with much more space than needed and an unusually well equipped dwelling. Restaurants in town are fine, but we especially enjoyed the informality and ease with which we could create snacks and meals after a short trip to the market. It's comfortable, convenient, and very well managed -- lots of helpful information received well ahead of time and not a single glitch.

What a great time. Within blocks of the Plaza, Canyon Road, Restaurant Martin, (new James Beard nominee!) House itself is just right: robes, towels, and super well stocked kitchen. Number of beds is fantastic for large groups of non-couples. Lots of special touches: live flowering plants, fresh flowers, many spices, games. We had a really lovely time. Never met the landlords, but never had a need. Everything was clean and comfortable. The house just felt like home.

Family Ski Trip

Arrived December 26, 2010. Total of 8. Plenty of bedding. The square is a little to far to walk in 20 degree weather, but in OK weather permitting. No complaints at all. Hot Tub was great. Kitchen/dinning. Big TV in basement. Parking for three cars. Quiet neighborhood. Owners comapany is right next door. Must walk to Guadalupe Cafe for Breakfast and dinner. Order some of their sweet rolls the day before and reserve a table. Santa Fe isn't Breckenridge for skiing. However, Breckenridge isn't Santa Fe for eating/shopping. You have trade offs. 4-5 hours closer to Dallas and lots more to do for non skiers. I skied 2 days and had a great time.

Six friends from three states met in Santa Fe to catch-up and relax. We found Capitol Casa on VRBO and selected it based on location and size. We were so delighted when we actually arrived! The home is amazing on all accounts......from the welcome vase of fresh flowers to absolutely everything you would ever need or want. (And, if not, the landlords are right next door and will provide you with info and any other comforts you might need.) Although this house is older, it is perfectly clean and charming with its beautiful New Mexican flair. We loved building a fire and sipping wine in the evenings. Capitol Casa is a wonderful home away from home. The walkable location is perfect if you are exploring Santa Fe downtown and Canyon Road....fabulous restaurants, shopping and historical places are so close! As a group, we loved Capitol Casa. We are going to highly recommend it to our friends and family.

Our group of nine stayed at Capitol Casa for a reunion and the house was perfect for us. The house was furnished beautifully and stocked with everything we could possibly need plus more. Warm and comfortable furnishings, great beds, and a kitchen overflowing with fun serving pieces; perfect for our "chefs" and entertaining divas! The location is the best. Easy walks to everywhere. Capitol Casa is everthing it says it is and Kristen and Debbie could not have been more accommodating and easy to work with. Would most definitely return.

My seven girlfriends and I loved staying at CapitalCasa for an annual reunion. The house accommodated all of us with ease. We had breakfast there everyday and cooked dinner in the well stocked kitchen most nights of our 5 night stay. There is a little supermarket literally around the corner (that has alcohol too) so food was easy to get. Central Santa Fe and Canyon Rd were a close to walk as were plenty of lovely restaurants.

We comfortably accomodated 11 family members. We walked everywhere. We also hosted a brunch and comfortable accomodated probably an additional 15 or so people. The accomodations are Sante fe with the adobe home and unique decor. Our beds were sooooo comfy! Our favorite spot was the front porch...

The house is conveniently located within a short walk of Canyon Road, the Plaza, Museums, and all the great shopping and restaurants the area has to offer. Getting to major highways by car, and the pick up/drop off across the street to the Albuquerque airport via the Sandia Shuttle are all so convenient. Well appointed house with all the comforts of home. Very well equipped kitchen. We really enjoyed sitting on the front porch with our friends in the cool mornings and evenings. Although off a major road, the street is very quiet. Great home for seven or more.

Capitol Casa was perfect for our reunion of 9 women! We found this wonderful house on the internet, and after a myriad of questions submitted to the owner (which were promptly answered), we decided to rent the house for 5 nights. WOW--we were thrilled with the accomodation! It far exceeded our expectations. The house was furnished beautifully. The bedding was devine, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The added touch of a magnifcant fresh floral arrangement made us feel very welcome, indeed. The location of the house couldn't have been better--so close to the main square, and yet located on a very quiet residential street. During our stay, we had several questions that the on-site manager answered. She was extremely helpful. If you have a large group meeting in Santa Fe, Capitol Casa is definitely the place to stay!

I planned my friend's 50th birthday girl's weekend. 12 of us came in from across the country. Capitol Casa was like staying in a good friend's home! There were comfy beds for everyone, everything we needed in the kitchen for gourmet feasts, a great fireplace and the location was SUPERB! What a perfect place for our group of women traveling to enjoy Santa Fe! The house is well-equipped with everything you could possibility need and the location is ideal--and easy walk into downtown Santa Fe. We have a group of friends who love to converge on Santa Fe for four or five days at a time. We just completed our second stay at Capitol Casa and will definitely return again. We were thrilled to find such an ideal vacation spot within a day's drive from home. Everyone in our family of five likes to have his/her own space, and we found it at Capital Casa. Having a full kitchen allowed us to save money on breakfast and lunch and then we could walk to a wide variety of restaurants for dinner. Being able to leave our car at the house when we were sightseeing downtown was a real treat. The house had absolutely everything we needed--even board games to play on the front porch!

My husband and I recently returned from a wonderful Easter vacation at Capitol Casa. We shared the house with seven other adults (all family), and it was a perfect match for our group. The house is beautifully decorated, comfortable, clean and very well stocked with all the everyday items. With five bedrooms, everyone had plenty of space and privacy. We had lots of room for breakfast together in the dining room and for board games and guitar playing in the living room. We loved the convenience of being able to walk to the Plaza and to Canyon Road. This is a wonderful house for a family or group of friends to spend time together. Highly recommend it!

I just wanted to add my highest praise and recommendation for the house. We have stayed there several times over the years and think it is exceptional in every way. This trip consisted of a group of 10 women from Denver celebrating a 50th birthday. Everyone loved the house, had a great time and our weekend could not have been better - because of the house. Kristen thinks of everything - from the comfort of the beds, linens, kitchen utensils, accomodations, barbeque, many wine glasses, etc. - just a great place to relax and party. Something for everyone. It was perfect for us and we had the best weekend ever. All of our party were amazed at the comfort and luxuriousness of the house - true, authentic Santa Fe. Plus it is so close to the plaza, everyone walked to see the sights and did plenty of shopping. We had great chefs who loved the kitchen. We loved it and know you will too!

We are so happy we chose Capitol Casa for our February vacation. We had a family group of 13 and thoroughy enjoyed the home. It had luxury in all the amenities but was so comfortable and roomy. Wow. What an amazing house. We came as a church women's group of 7 and this place was perfect! So uniquely furnished, very comfortable, close to everything, and just fantastic. We will most certainly come back next year. Manager was also great to deal with.

We were 5 adult women friends, and wanted a house where we would all be comfortable -- Capitol Casa fit the bill beautifully. Plus we enjoy cooking some of our meals, and the kitchen was very well equipped, including with those little ingredients you wouldn't want to buy for a few days but need. It's also wonderfully located -- we chose not to rent a car, and were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. And all of our dealings with management were easy and professional. Thank you!

Capitol Casa worked beautifully for our family of five during a spring break trip to Santa Fe. The house is charming, clean, spacious, and very comfortably furnished. It is supplied in such a way that you know you are indeed meant to enjoy being there--and we did. The location was wonderful for strolling into Santa Fe, and after a long Chicago winter, a little time in the hot tub at night looking at the stars was superb. We loved being able to lounge around the living room with a fire burning in the fireplace after an afternoon of hiking. We would definitely make a return visit.

We had six of us - three generations - in the house for a week. It's a great place - lots of room to spread out, near groceries and gas, and only ten minute walk to the plaza. The house has any amenity you could want; everything is clean; the beds are great, as is the hot tub. The five year old in our group didn't want to "tour;" he wanted to be in the house. We'll be back.

I hesitate to write this review because I prefer to imagine Capitol Casa as our private home. Three girlfriends and I have rented the home three times now and will return for a fourth visit this October. It's truly lovely. There's plenty of room for a group such as ours and the home is well maintained and comfortably appointed. The cozy living room boasts a nice fireplace-- a great setting for a glass of wine before dinner. The hot tub is clean and private and a soothing place to drink a cup of tea after a day of sightseeing. It's a short walk to the plaza or Canyon Road --a nice feature when you want to be able to walk to dinner! This home, thankfully, does not feel like a rental. It's warm and inviting and very hard to leave.

Our recent visit to Santa Fe was quite memorable and enjoyable. Even with the poor weather we didn't have a day of disappointment. Capitol Casa has a box of literature with ideas for fun activity planning. We had two families stay at Capitol Casa and we all had our own personal areas. It is a very comfortable home. The beds are comfortable and plenty of soft pillows and quality linens. The kitchen is fully equipped. The location couldn't be more convenient to the downtown area. There is a small coffee shop on the end of the block, and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. There is also a playground, and basketball courts at the end of another block. If you choose to stay at Capitol Casa, you will not be disappointed.

I have visited Santa Fe many times and decided to take my four grandchildren and my two daughters for Spring Break. I found Capitol Casa on this website and was thrilled to find something big enough for us all and close to the heart of town. It worked out perfect for us. The house has old world charm with its antiques and rugs, but has been updated with all modern facilities. My grandchildren especially loved the downstairs where they could play "hide and seek" , games or watch their own tv. We walked to town and to restaurants, but they really preferred to stay in "their new house in Santa Fe" . Kitchen is well equipped for cooking, liens are wonderful...I would highly recommend for anyone visiting Santa Fe. Our only problem was ski equipment rental during Spring Break. A wonderful home for large family. We were 6 adults and 3 teens. the House was spotless, and very well equipped. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very large and modern. The kitchen large enough for several cooks, and dining room held us all. It is close to town(walking distance) and wonderful restaurants all over town. We would certainly stay there again.
