Rented this house for 4 people. Absolutely loved it! The upstairs master bath and bedroom with lanai was a private retreat from the rest of the house. My 84 year-old parents stayed in the larger bedroom downstairs which has a sliding glass door opening directly into the beautiful ocean-front yard. The washer and dryer are also in this bedroom (in a closet). The third bedroom is small. The photos of the house are an accurate overview of the property and amenities. The house was clean and quiet. There is no air conditioning but the electric fans worked great to keep the house cool. Honolulu is about 45 -60 minutes away if you need the nightlife and shopping scene but we loved being in the more rural area. Costco, Walmart, Chilis restaurant, and a movie theatre are all within about 25 minutes for all your shopping needs. We found turtle beach and delighted in seeing the turtles upclose on the beach as well as swimming in the cove. Porpoise swam by a couple of mornings. It's important to remember that you are staying in a house with an established neighborhood. The neighbors were very friendly. The bus goes by regularly if you don't want to take your car. We can hardly wait to be able to come back and stay here again. Best place on the island (and we have been everywhere on Oahu).

The house has a wonderful view of the ocean, with a well tended garden. Goin to sleep with the sound of the wave was amazing. We enjoyed the beach nearby and other not far away. The house has all you need for a relaxing vacation. In an hour drive you can reach the busy Honolulu and Waikiki and other historical site. Thanks Rebecca

our group of 7 including grandparents and 3 small children had a wonderful stay at the home! plenty of room for everyone, safe for the kids and we loved to watch the whales from the property!! we loved to swim at the ko olina lagoons, and otherwise the house was so comfortable we just spent much of the time enjoying the view and relaxing. would highly recommend the house if you are looking for something a little off the beaten path (although starbucks is not far)!

We reserved this home after looking at several different areas of Oahu and finding most everything already booked, so we anticipated somewhat "less" of it. Having now spent time there, I'm amazed it was still available. The home is situated on an absolutely beautiful stretch of ocean that gives you the illusion of being one of the first to discover it. It was well equipped and very comfortable. For beach time, Makaha Beach is wonderful! Surfing, snorkeling, sunning - it's all great! We swam with sea turtles and layed our beach towels mere feet from a sleeping monk seal. Back at the home, I'll always remember grilling steaks and lobster tails to the sound of waves crashing on the rocks. We sincerely hated to leave our sanctuary in paradise and will definitely be back. Thank you Rebecca for sharing your little piece of heaven with us!

I must rate this as one of my most memorable vacations. I have stayed in Makaha many times because I love the beaches and the seclusion. It's a true Hawaiian experience. What made this home so perfect was the layout of the house. The upper portion of the house is the master bedroom suite which is like almost having a separate unit allowing the ultimate privacy a couple would want while on vacation. We had our two adult children with us downstairs. Our typical day would be to get up and play tennis, before it got to hot, at the beautiful courts at the Poki Bay Marina, beach excursions to local pristine beaches, home to a showers and sipping drinks while watching the boats, porpoises and the occasion pair of whales swim by. Kids took out of Poki Bay Marina and went swimming with the porpoises and turtles. Best kept secret is that in the neighborhood that the house is in are very small public beach accesses which lead you to underwater cave. Surf was too rough by the time we discovered them but looks like a snorklers dream. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions. Thanks Rebecca and Debi!

Our family just returned from Hawaii and spent a week (4/7/11-4/14/11) at this home. We were very happy with the house. The view is breath taking and we did get to see whales. The house was clean and very comfortable to stay in. This is a perfect area if you like peace and quiet. Yet, not to far when you want to venture out to Wakiki or other sites.

This is the second time I rented this property. My sister, her family, and a friend joined me January 2011. We had the most restful nights sleep due to the waves crashing on the lava rocks. I slept in the master bedroom on the second floor as this was my favorite room to be in because there is a lanai that you could sit and relax and watch the sunset. Now, the view from the bottom floor wasa just as good. We seemed to have taken about a hundred sunset photo's as they were beautiful every evening. I believe we saw whales almost every day from the lanai. I even got to see one breach (come out of the water). I screamed so loud from excitement that my family wondered what had happened. Everything you would need is supplied at the house. We cooked dinner almost every evening so it felt like being home. We saved so much money just staying at the house and not having to pay for meals daily. They also had umbrella's, beach towels, a cooler, and other items (snorkel gear). I would definitely go back on my next trip.

Me and my family just recently stayed at Rebecca's home in makaha about 2 weeks ago. It is more beautiful than the pictures and the view from the master bedroom is breath taking. I loved waking up in the morning to hear the ocean and see the view. We had our sons 1st birthday party over there, and it really came out so nice due to the surroundings. Our kids had a lot of fun and I had fun playing house.

Our family spent 3 weeks in February 2010 at this lovely beachfront home in Makaha. We found the accommodation everything as promised. Relaxing, clean, comfortable, quiet, all beach towels, umbrella and beach toys supplied (my grandchildren loved it) and the house and property in great condition. We enjoyed watching the whales pass by in the morning and the most beautiful sunsets in the evening. Loved the body surfing at Makaha Beach, just a 5 minute walk from the house. We had the wonderful opportunity of staying at Rebecca's oceanfront villa for a Christmas holiday with our 4 children. The house is exactly as the pictures show; very nice, spacious, clean and with all the amenities one would need for a relaxing holiday. The ocean front view provided us with so much entertainment from the whales, dolphins, flying fish and just the surf itself was facinating! Nearby Makaha beach was great for us to venture in the water a bit & a wonderful change from the fast paced crowded Waikiki. Debi is great to deal with on sight; very friendly and bubbly! My only regret -how long it will take before we can return...

This home is a wonderfull escape from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki! My family enjoyed beautiful sunsets every night and awoke to the sounds of ocean waves every morning! Our children enjoyed the tide pools ( please watch out for the tide!) finding all types of ocean life living there. We will happily call on Rebecca and Debbi again when we return to Hawaii!!

My husband, our four teenagers and I had a great time in Makaha. We loved watching the whales & dolphins play in the mornings and evenings (especially from the master bedroom balcony). During the day exploring in the tidal pools was fascinating, fishing off the rocks provided an opportunity to 'get to known' the local turtles and in evening the sunsets and night skies were amazing. The Makaha Beach provided relaxation, adventure and entertainment as we watched the surfers. It was wonderful to have a quiet place to explore or just to relax in after a busy day in beautiful Oahu. This beachfront house in Makaha is paradise. We adventured all over the island but almost every day at least one person in our group wanted to just lounge around the house and watch the waves crash into the tide pools. There is something incredibly relaxing about falling asleep to the sounds of waves. One morning when I woke up I sat up in bed and had to rub my eyes, the first thing I saw as I was still in bed was a pod of dolphins frolicking in the water a few yards from the shore. I ran out on the balcony and started to scream for everyone to wake up to watch the dolphins. Luckily it’s secluded because I realized I was only wearing my underwear. Each day we saw several whales. We also saw a few turtles and the tide pools had tons of amazingly colorful fish. This house is a perfect getaway. Whenever we ventured into the madness and crowds of Waikiki I longed to return to our secluded calm house were I could watch the ocean in peace and eat my incredibly fresh local fruits from the nearby market. This house is perfect for people who want to have a relaxing vacation outside of the crowds and noise in Waikiki. I also want to say one of the the guide books in the house “Oahu Revealed” was an amazing companion and never steered us wrong. I also highly recommend Ono Hawaiian (ono means delicious in Hawaiian.) at 726 Kapahulu Ave. I can imagine myself going back and spending a week and not leaving the house. It was that wonderful.

We just spent a fantastic week at Rebecca's house in Makaha! Not only did we have the best weather on Oahu, we also were able to watch Humpback's breaching as we sat on lawnchairs in her back yard. The house was spacious, clean, comfortable, and in a great location to catch sunsets. My wife and I loved falling asleep to the sound of waves breaking on the shoreline. During our vacation we travelled all over Oahu, yet we found ourselves looking forward each day, to our return to Makaha and "our house". We'll be back!

Had a great time -- we had our 4 kids, my wife and I and my father-in-law, so we were looking for a place that we could just relax and enjoy the warm weather, ocean sites including numerous whales and turtles. The backyard views and room to play were just what we needed to escape the winter! Played golf nearby as well and that was enjoyable. Highly recommend this place for a quiet and relaxing holiday with unbelievable views.

My two sisters, two nieces, and I enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, spaceous house on the west side of the island (Makaha). We stayed for a week at the beginning of Feb 09. Rebecca was very easy to work with and so was Debi who had met us to get settled into the property. We had the pleasure of watching the whales and the beautiful sunsets most evenings. The house was very clean which is a must for any person renting a property. Everything you could need was provided at the house as if it was your own. The famous Makaha Beach (surfing) was a short walk from the house and it is one of the most beautiful beaches in Oahu. The best part of my stay was listening to the waves hit the lava rocks while falling asleep every evening. I am missing it already. We will be staying there again next year.

I stayed at Rebecca's house with a couple of friends in January and we had a great time. The house was roomy and allowed plenty of space for each of us, the views of the ocean were amazing, and the quiteness of the area was a very nice change of pace from Waikiki. The ocean frontaqe was amazing. One morning we watched whales for 1/2 hour jumping out of the water. It was just like national geographic. The tide pools behind the house offer opportunities to view fish and crabs. Watching the winter waves pound against the rocks was very impressive. Rebecca and Debi (contact in Hawaii) were great to deal with. Both communicated with me regulary and answered all of my questions. Overall, I would definately recommend staying at this house if you are looking to get away from the tourist areas near downtown. The house is gated, feels safe, and is well stocked with everything you may want for your trip.

This was the perfect spot for our family, with plenty of room for our 10-year old and 20-year old. We put up a badminton net in the backyard and dad and the kids played while I bar-b-qued right next to the ocean. Although a good drive from tourist spots on the island, we loved staying on the quiet northwest side. Makaha Beach was an easy walk. There is a cottage on the street side of the property with a renter, but she was very quiet and we only saw her a couple of times. Rebecca was so wonderful. She made all the arrangements easy. We had a wonderful stay!

We spent a wonderful and relaxing two weeks in Makaha. With two suites and baths, comfortable living room, and a large ocean facing lawn outfront, the house was perfect for bringing along our parents, who enjoyed watching the whales/dolphins in the morning and sunsets each evening. Even with a small child, everything was provided for so we were able to kick back and relax, enjoying the beautiful and peaceful surroundings.

We stayed at this amazing home for six nights in mid-February. We loved hearing the ocean and watching the incredible sunsets. A nice suprise was the mountain view from the front of the house. It was effortless- from the initial phone call to the owner to making ourselves at home upon arriving to shopping at the local stores and enjoying the relaxing environment. The only hard part was packing up to leave.

Wonderful property!! Our family stayed here for 3 nights in February 08 and we had a great time. Beautiful oceanfront home with all the amenities you need, especially if you have children. Watching the whales from our master bedroom balcony was one of the highlights of our trip. We will definitely be back if possible! Thanks to Rebecca as well, she was pleasure to deal with.
