Bienvenidos a Villa de Los Suenos. We discovered Los Barriles and our Villa on a sailing voyage to the South Pacific three years ago. This is what dreams are made of... somewhere under the cocos!
Situated on almost an acre of land, less than 200 yds to the Sea of Cortez, is our Italian-in-style Villa, 5000 square feet of upscale interior living with an additional 3000+ square feet of verandas,private patios and pool area. Some find the villa floor plan unique, though after traveling to France, Spain, and Italy we find it very European. It boasts two separate, well appointed living arrangements, and can accommodate two separate parties, a large family reunion, magnificent wedding or relaxed corporate retreat!
Upon entering the front gate, guests arrive to a welcoming courtyard with sounds of water falling from the fountain tiers, graced with fluffy palms. Two identical garden level wings of approximately 1000 square feet flank the central courtyard, each with private entrances. The 2-story villa entrance is straight ahead!
Wings feature very comfortable living with a complete kitchen/dining/great room, private patio, featuring a Tahitian palapa umbrella and dining table. A very large and spacious bedroom sleeps four in two queen beds, with Tempurpedic memory foam mattresses for those dreamy night’s sleep. Unpack the suitcases into enormous European style built-in armoires and still room to exercise! A lovely large bathroom with shower adjoins the bedroom. A queen sleeper sofa can sleep two more in the kitchen/dining area!
Upon entering the main 2 story villa foyer, guests face the grand staircase featuring a local artist tromp l'oie. Service bar/dining to the left, conversation and music to the right. The dining area boasts a 12 foot long dining table, seating as many as 18 dinner guests. This garden level area flows from the courtyard, inside and back out through two sets of French doors to the seaside view veranda. The music, conversation area features our c.1902 Bluthner parlor grand piano. At the top of the stairs, there is comfy seating, large sectional sofa, complete with flat screen TV and Sea of Cortez views. Adjacent to this is a game table or desk area, views to the mountains. From staircase landing, take stairs to the right where master bedroom suite with queen bed, built-in armoire, adjoining bath with Jacuzzi tub, shower, his and her sinks, and views to La Rivera and south.
Finally, our recently constructed "outdoor playroom"... Classic, venetiano mosaico tiled, salt water pool (with swim jet) and spa offering additional entertainment. State of the art, salt water chlorination provides the latest technology in maintaining pool and spa water to the utmost level of balance and clarity. An abundance of lounging, patio chaises and hammocks under the coco and fan palms, hibiscus, bouganvilla, and fruit trees create the "lost on an island" feel. Last and not least, the outdoor kitchen under "the party palapa"! A large grill, rotisserie, oven, sink, fridge, and out from under the palapa, those "chefs at heart" can delight in pizza or bread making, pig roasts, full party fare with a very large, wood-fired horno(beehive oven) built in the traditional Mexican Ranchero style!
The villa can accommodate one big family, or one big wedding, retreat, reunion, or simply two separate vacationing parties!
My son and I reside on the property. We can help with organizing the details of your vacation whether it be a day big game fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing in Todos Santos, kitesurfing at one of local schools, music and theatre in La Paz, Cabo San Lucas, or karaoke at Tio Pablo's in our own pueblo of Los Barriles! Guided tours can be arranged for hiking, and or horseback riding, quad adventures, or our renowned casacada hike in the Sierra de La Laguna mountain range to a couple fabulous 30 foot cascadas for those brave cliff jumpers! We also have favorite hot pools for warming up in on the return!

Why the Owner Chose Los Barriles
My son Franck and I were on a 2 year sailing adventure to the South Pacific aboard our S/V Ocean Eyes. Los Cabos was the first stop where we planned to have Thanksgiving dinner with a girlfriend in Los Barriles. After disembarking in La Paz, then finding our way on land to a small but world famous fishing village "Los Barriles" and Thanksgiving under a palapa, we fell in love with the villa across the calle sporting a "for sale" sign. It seemed the perfect spot for a vacation rental, with many rental options and would afford us a place to come back to once completing our sailing journey. Now, heading into year four, Franck will graduate from Junior High School, fluent in Spanish, and continue his three years of high school in the nearby village of Santiago. We have both become kitesurfers and enjoy the world class conditions found at our "Playa Norte" November through April. Late spring and summer months we head 10 miles south to La Ribera where we enjoy lighter southeasterlies, and shallow, flatter warmer waters, ! We love our peaceful, yet full lifestyle of living in a less touristy pueblo, with benefits of the nearby tourist resorts of Los Cabos, San Jose del Cabo, and La Paz.

We can give you our full appreciation as locals and full-timers of all activities and places to enjoy here. Located just a mile from our pueblo, guests will find an abundance of restaurants, quads for rent, fishing charters, banks with ATM's, good shopping. We are also a 3 minute walk to Playa Norte for morning swims, walking the dog, or heading out to kite or wind surf. We have the modern conveniences we are all used to north of the border, but without the hustle bustle lifestyle. Instead of horns blowing, sirens, and tires schreetching, we listen to the coo of the morning dove, roosters crowing, and bells ringing beneath the necks of the local farmers cows and goats! Life is simple, peaceful and relaxing.
We will be happy to arrange for your activities to be waiting upon your arrival, and should you wish to enjoy our delectable delights, we're ready to prepare meals for you. We offer a fabulous outdoor kitchen with large outdoor oven for homecooking, pizza, breads, roast pig...catch of the day. We also recommend for that freshly caught fish, our friend Chris Moyer's, Smokehouse for preparing your catch for its return to your freezer at home! He also smokes whatever you catch too. We have our "Captain" connection who just happens to win many big fishing tournies here, he's ready to fish when you are.
On top of all, we can provide a venue for weddings, retreats, corporate vacations, with our almost 1 acre site and over 5000 sq ft villa. This year we hosted a fund raising pig roast for Franck's school, DANCING to the NEEDLEFISH JAZZ TRIO for over 200 guests. What a fun evening.
