  This was the second Christmas that we've spent at this cabin. The first one was perfect. This last stay, not so much. We were never sent a rental contract to sign, which was a bit disconcerting, but since we'd stayed there before we just trusted that it would be all right. We were disappointed that there was not a Christmas tree this year and there was less flexibility in check-in and check-out times. There was not enough firewood for our 3-day stay. The worst part of the visit was a knock on the door late in the evening on my last night there. Other family had left and it was just me at the cabin alone. The man at the door wanted to collect trash from inside the cabin so he could haul it off. I did not feel comfortable with that at all. I had no way to verify who this man was, so I did not allow him to come in and collect the trash. On a more positive note, it is a very nice little cabin, but I doubt if we will stay there again.

  Recommended for: Pet owners.

  Owner response: We are very sad that, in this case, we had a guest whose expectation was not met. We try to be flexible, but unfortunately when another guest is due to arrive shortly we are not able to extend our checkout time. We keep our cabins very clean and try our best to help our guests by personally removing garbage from outside every few days.

  This cabin is so incredibly cute and very well maintained. It's adorable! It was more space than we needed, but we weren't complaining.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

  Completely satisfied...all we wanted and more! Very clean and very well equipped with everything we needed. Owners are very easy to deal with. I'm sure the Fernwood is just a nice. Hoping to go back soon. I will recommend these cabins.

  Just got back from a terrific stay in the Smokies! Went to see the fall colors and have a quiet weekend. We got all of that and the trip was wonderful. The cabin is extremely clean and very peaceful. The kitchen was so well stocked and we loved cooking out on the grill each night sitting on the rockers. Thanks for the firewood, we enjoyed a cozy fire each night. Terrific place and we would love to go back again.

  Our family stayed in Fernwood for 6 nights. Our experience was great! The cabin is located in a private, wooded area. The cabin had lots of room and was well stocked. The owners were very kind and easy to work with. I would definitely recommend this cabin, and we would stay there again.

  Just spent 4 nights in the Fernwood cabin. It was just perfect..... secluded, quiet, and peaceful. The cabin was very clean!!! Listening to it rain while on the covered back porch was just what I needed to wind down and forget the stresses of work. The rocking chairs on the front porch helped with the stress relief also. :-) This one will be on my list for future trips.

  We just spent 5 nights at Fernwood! The cabin is great! The location (out of town) was exactly what we wanted! Plenty of room and places to sleep! The double Jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom was unbelievable! We will definitely stay here again!
