Our white-walled villa is built on a gentle mountain overlooking the bay of Roses. The villa is well appointed in a quiet setting with no noise on a safe private road. There are sea views from all levels of the villa and the Pyrenees in the distance adds to the truly beautiful vistas.
We are a short downhill walk to the quaint fishing town and Port of Roses. Roses was founded by the Greeks and later the Romans. Roses is well organized and has many shopping delights. With 12,000 people Roses is a bustling happy environment with excellent beaches, very clear sea, and many quality sea front cafes that compliment the layout of this historic town. Local wine is excellent and inexpensive with many bodegas only 5 mins from Roses. The locals are very friendly and helpful. Barcelona is 90 mins and Perpignan France only 45 mins from the villa.
This area of the Costa Brava has excellent clarity of sea water that is ideal for snorkeling or diving and sailing. Boats can easily be rented locally. There are many small accessable quiet beaches and coves away from the main areas. We are 30 mins from mountain villages in France with excellent restaurants and 40 mins from Perpignan. Barcelona is an hour away by car and there is an excellent train service to downtown Barcelona.
The world class El Bulli restaurant is less than 10 min away from the villa.
