Life can sometimes get a little hectic so we decided to unplug for a week and escape to Martha's Vineyard. We looked for a while to find the perfect house and have to say we found it! The Island was amazing in the off season. The weather was unusually mild so we scored there too! Thank you to Karen and Paul for doing such an amazing job with your house. It was immaculate and even better than the photos. What a beautiful home in a great spot. PS LOVE YOUR HOT TUB UNDER THE STARS ART NIGHT

A special thank you for all you have put into this amazing property. From the detail of the plantings and grounds to the beautiful art work in the house we just cannot say enough about the beautiful property. We looked for a long time to find a rental on Marthas Vineyard and have to say we found the perfect get away. If you like to spend time in the kitchen you will love this home. It has been created by a real family with endless love and care and is not just a "rental house". We will be back!

I found the Hannigan's Oyster Watcha Meadow by pure luck. Arriving in the fall after the busy summer folk had left was pure magic!. I walked beaches that were all mine, had no wait to get into all my favorite restaurants and shopped endless end of summer sales in all the boutiques in the villages. Best of all, however, I have to admit was the amazing property that Karen and Paul have created. It is pure and simply the most relaxing place you will ever find. Between the beautiful gardens, extensive lawns, patios and beautiful pool I had to really push myself to leave the property. The house is beautifully decorated and appointed to the 9's. Nothing is worn, torn or tired as you find in so many rentals. The kitchen is a cooks dream, the beds all comfortable, rooms loving appointed showing Karen's flair for decorating and her being an artist with a strong history of designing homes for herself and others. I have never been in such a comfortable and well laid out house before or with such a wonderful personality. The meadow was in full bloom with yellow wildflowers and the vegetable garden was begging for me to pick the last of fresh basil, tomatoes and squash all planted for the enjoyment of the owners but also the tenants. The Hannigans live in the caretakers cottage in the woods next door but totally made me feel like the house was mine while I was there. They were there if I needed them but other than that they left me alone. I would not have even known they were there if it were not for a call to reserve the Kayaks. They not only set them up but gave me great hints as to where to launch with wind conditions being what they were...something I never would have thought about! I could go on and on...but have already done so. Oyster Watcha Meadow is a piece of heaven. If you are considering homes on Martha's Vineyard. LOOK NO MORE>>>>>> I have already booked 2011 and plan to make it an annual retreat! Thank you Paul and Karen for sharing your beautiful compound. You guys are THE BEST!

We discovered Oyster Watcha Meadow 9 years ago and have been coming back each year ever since. Some years we stay in the guest house, some the main house and once had another family join us and took both houses. We love the flexibility of the two houses and that it fits our group size each year. It is like a dream come true. The huge summer sky and constant breeze off the ocean are my favorite things about this amazing house. To me it is everything that is Martha's Vineyard. Karen and Paul have done an amazing job creating this little piece of heaven. Each year when I come back it is always a fresh and new as the first year and then some. They always upgrade and keep everything in brand new condition. It is also in an amazing location in that it not only sits in this beautiful 5 acre meadow but it is so central and close to town. Best is that even when the Island is sinking with tourists, once you are home you feel like you are the only ones on the whole Island. Thank you for each and every vacation we have shared at Oyster Watcha. Each year as we drive down the dirt road to the house our kids always say....there is no place like home....there is no place like home. It really is so much more than just a rental house.....each summer it really is home for us! We and the girls cannot thank you enough for all the memories we have of our stays at Jennie La. You guys are the best!

What an amazing surprise to rent what you think will be a dream home and truly find that it is! Location, Cleanliness, well maintained, well equipped, fantastic homeowners and on and on I could go. If you are looking for an amazing vacation in a home that is just perfect, look no more. We have rented this house more than once and will do so again and again. The owners, The Hannigans help you find the out of the way places so that you really can find the "off the beaten track" true gems of the Island. They have lived on the Island for over 25 years and know it like the back of their hand. We love them like family! Our family loves coming to their home and truly consider it our home away from home. Look No More.... a stay at Oyster Watcha Meadow is the only way to go when staying on Marthas Vineyard..... such a great location...close to everything yet away from summer traffic. It truly is a little piece of heaven on earth. When we finally buy land on the Island it will be the owner of this home that will design my new Vineyard home just as she did this amazing compound. She is amazing with an eye for detail that just will astound you! Treat yourself on your next visit to the Island and rent this amazing property.

Sorry for the delayed review but our stay was really truly so special that I can still remember every detail! What a find this compound is! We rented only the main house but look forward to renting the whole compound out for our next big family get together. Although we had neighbors in the smaller house we hardly ever saw them and really felt we had total privacy. Its a beautifully appointed home set in a meadow with wild turkeys and butterflies bouncing around....it is picture perfect! This is not a generic house rental - very special and wonderfully maintained. The kitchen was a joy! open to the dining and living area it really made cooking a pleasure with the whole family. Not to mention the top of the line appliances and accessories - you wont find these in just any rental! And the hot tub and pool were such a hit! it was great to sit out in the hot tub and star gaze. The house also has a wonderful layout with plenty of space to have a private tranquil moment or be right in the middle of the family action. We also ended up with unexpected guests one nite from cape cod and easily accomodated them on the pullout in the second living room. I have been coming to the vineyard for years now and without a doubt this house is a definite find! A very special rental that felt like a home away from home....and was torture to leave. The owners are a joy to deal with and the spot they picked just perfect! The house is a down a dirt road that both the adults and kids got a kick out of riding their bikes on. Its a good bike ride to town...the path is just across the road once you come out the dirt path and we enjoyed riding to town versus driving. There is a great farmers market on the way to town that had the best fresh veggies! The house is also located away from all the crazy traffic and provided a great jumping off point for exploring upisland. I could go on and on but I must stop - I am putting myself into 34 Jennie Lane withdrawl :)

We have been to Marthas Vineyard for 10 summers now and we must say your home is by far the most spectacular home we have ever rented. Your attention to detail and understanding what our every need might be really makes staying at your home special. We loved the mineral pool It was our fist time using a non chlorine pool and now we are totally spoiled. Our favorite beach was LONG POINT...thank you so much for the suggestion. Karen and Paul, We had such a wonderful time staying in your beautiful home! The pool was refreshing and the hot tub was the perfect place at night to watch for shooting stars. We LOVED the kitchen, it was amazingly equipped and so fun to use all the various cooking "toys"...I never cooked so much on vacation before. Thanks for the use of the Kayaks and suggestions on where to launch and also for the lobster cooker. They both added so much to make our vacation really special! After your amazing house we most loved how close you were to LONG POINT TRUSTEES OF THE RESERVATION BEACH...we did not even know it existed and have been coming to the Island for years! We like so many others thought there was only KATAMA SOUTH BEACH. Your book with details of so many places to go on the Island really showed us places that even after all these years we had never been. Thanks to you we saw some amazing "off the beaten track" spots that just made us fall in love with the Island all the more. You are the best and have done a great job creating and maintaining a beautiful property and in making sure your guests have their every need taken care of. This is the FIRST vacation that I have ever been on and really not wanted to go home. This compound had something for all 14 of us to enjoy. The kids had days and by the pool. While the adults had many a night reminiscing on the patios. The personal chef you recommended was the icing on the cake. We all suffered "34 Jennie Lane Withdrawl" for weeks.

This was our 14th year of summering on the Vineyard and this home was, by far, the most comfortable, well-appointed house we had stayed in. It had no resemblance to the typical rentals we had stayed in previous years. We loved the pool for an alternate to the beach. And Karen and Paul were excellent hosts.

Our family has had the pleasure of staying at this vacation compound for the last 4 years. We continue to marvel at the improvements that are made every year. This past year in fact, an addition was added to one of the houses and a pool was added as well. This home is truly our 'home away from home' and has every imaginable comfort to make your stay on the Vineyard comfortable. The home is also very well maintained and one can enjoy the hot tub or take a dip in the pool after a day of sightseeing. Our family gathered taking the whole compound for the celebration of our mothers 60th birthday. We have rented many vacation homes and I have to say this house is by far the best home we have yet to find for rent! We could not have asked for a better place to vacation. Each bedroom had its own bath and all the living spaces were so beautifully decorated and appointed. The house was immaculate and bed linens, beach and bath towels all in new condition. The setting of the property is so "vineyard". It sits in a huge wildflower meadow and the immediate areas around the house are so beautifully landscaped. The flower gardens and veggie garden there for us to not only look at but to harvest from as well. We had never seen a salt mineral pool before and now are totally spoiled. I will never swim in chlorine again! Thanks and more thanks for making your home available for rent and also for the incredible job you do in keeping in so perfect. We give you an over the top 5 stars !!!!! Thanks again.....we had an amazing time!

We just left you wonderful home in Edgartown and cannot tell you enough how fantastic our vacation was. The moment I walked in to the front door I knew I was in heaven! Spotless and just amazing. From the artwork to the fantastic kitchen we were just blown away. Not too fussy but just perfect in so many details. Karen you have such an amazing eye in putting together colors, spaces and furnishings! Everything was just perfect! We took photos to keep your ideas fresh in our minds for when we got home. The location, the saltwater heated pool (a first for us and we all loved it....non of that nasty chlorine smell and burning in your eyes... Most of all we loved the meadow at night and sitting in the hot tub under the milkyway and all those amazing stars! We saw 15 shooting stars in our week visit! If ever we are fortunate enough to come back to Marthas Vineyard we will stay with you again. Thank you so much!
