Our beautiful Shady Home is now available for vacation rentals- A recently remodeled 2 story home on 1.25 acres, it is located just 5 miles from Woodstock on a dead end lane, very private yet minutes to town. The in ground pool is open and maintained June 1 through September 15. This home has been in our family for over 45 years and has been carefully and lovingly furnished and equipped for children and grandchildren. Some of the owner's antique family furniture and art works are displayed and used, but it is a comfortable home. In the last 5 years, the owners have built a new kitchen and dining addition and renovated the 2nd floor, to 3 bedrooms and a new bathroom, with tub/shower. All new appliances. In summer, 2009, a new sun porch was built outside living room. Check availability calendar.

My husband and I bought Our Shady Home in 1962 when our boys were 3 and 1- Our daughter, Julie arrived in 1967- We lived in New York City and spent many weekends and most summers in Our Shady Home- Today, I am a widow, live in North Carolina and travel to California and England frequently.- My California home recently designed by Julie's husband, Richard Baker, is also available for short term rentals. I love renting out my home- I have talked and met some very interesting people-
Why the Owner Chose Woodstock
In 1963, before we bought Our Shady Home, we looked in a 150 mile radius of NYC- we both knew Woodstock and when we saw this home, we felt it was for us- My husband always said he bought it for the view, while I bought it for the convenience of a bedroom and bath on the 1st floor- Woodstock has always offered an interesting combination of art, music, theater and good restaurants, as well as a fascinating array of shops.

This house is magnificent. It was an absolute pleasure to be staying here. It is beautifully updated, pristene, and meticulous: the cleanest house we have ever rented! We, (my husband, teenage daughter, and very small dog) all felt so welcomed. The grounds are so beautiful, which gives a feeling of such serenity. We saw three deer while having our morning coffee. We recommend this house to all!!

We loved our stay at the Shady Home. It has all the facilities/amenities of one's home. It is beautifully located in the woods with 100% privacy and has a wonderful pool. The house is immaculate, it is very well maintained and is very modern. The owner and manager provide outstanding customer service. I highly recommend this place to ALL! I utilized this Shady home to have some friends up for my wife's 30th and every guest was wildly impressed. The pictures don't do this beautifully remodeled home. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean. The kitchen was a perfect gathering area. The heated pool was the best. I will definitely recommend this home to all my friends looking for a nice country get away! Oh yeah, let me not forget Frances the owner and Debbie who made sure I had everything I needed, they are truly special people!
