This by far an away was a great location on Maui. The condo is probably the best condo location on the property, and was very clean. Our family had everything we needed to call it home. For the price you won't find a better location, more convenient rental process, and spectacular views each morning and night. If I were to provide any negative feedback it would be the pool was a bit small; but heck...you're in Maui; you should be spending your time at one of the several magnificent beaches just a short drive away. Other than that...you can't go wrong staying at "Le-Penthouse". It's no wonder this condo rents out fast and has return customers. Overall a great experience. Mahalo!!!

Steve and Mary Anne ( Los Angeles, Ca) We stayed in "Le Penthouse" from Dec 23 to Dec 31st. The pictures on the web do not due justice to the view from this condo. You will not find a better view. We ate every night on the lani at sunset and had coffee in bed every morning watching a whale go by almost everyday. The condo was perfectly clean. It has everything you need for picnics at the beach. The brand new giant big screen is great for movies and tv. You will miss out if you pass up this condo. Thank you so much Paula and Carl for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Not only the lack of snow and cold, but also the mix of Christmas decorations around our complex and around the island with swaying palm trees, 80 degree temperatures, and whales out your window to the west and Haleakal?, the east Maui volcano behind you. Fabulous View

This was our second time staying at Le Penthouse. Thank you Carl and Paula. The view is spectacular and can be seen from every room.. We never had to use the air conditioner, because we allowed the breeze to flow through the rooms, cooling the entire place. We could hear the waves lapping on shore at night. We did not want to leave. We watched the sunset from either balcony almost every night and then we would go out because the condo's view is better than most of the restaurant views. Next time we will stay longer. The condo has everything one would need. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances, glassware and cookware. The condo is close to many beautiful beaches. We especially loved Mekenna Beach, just a few minutes south of Kehei in Wailea. The snorkeling there is fantastic. We saw the same fish as we did at Molokini plus turtles. This condo is very comfortable and spacious. We cannot say enough about the beautiful view. Wifi and dvr are also provided.

Maui vacation

The view was fantastic; the condo was spotlessly clean, very quiet, comfortable, and well-equipped. TV and WiFi reception was very good. Our security deposit was returned promptly, and the owner was very helpful when we were making the reservation. The location was great for our needs. We would definitely recommend this condo.

Never wanted to leave!

My fiance and I stayed at this condo from May 5th til the 20th. We had the pleasure of meeting Norm upon our arrival- he gave us all kinds of tips on restaurants, grocery shopping, and beaches as well as laundry and barbeques etc. He is such a great guy and we will miss him!! He even gave us a card to congratulate us on our marriage... This condo was spectacular! We loved every moment we spent there! It was immaculate when we arrived, and had everything we needed and more (I did let Norm know that I wished it had a larger tea kettle, but I am a big tea drinker, so I am sure the smaller one is fine for most everyone else!). Trevor and I are in love with Maui, and definitely are going to be back soon. We will certainly try to get this condo again as it was a big reason that we enjoyed this trip so much! On our wedding night we went to Spago restaurant for dinner. The food, service and views were amazing , and I would definitely recommend this as the best romantic place for dinner (although it is very pricey, it is totally worth it!). CafeO'Lei has great food at lunch and dinner but would recommend lunch over dinner- we found that they kinda rush you at dinner, and was sort of pricey.. Kihei Caffe is one of favourites for breakfast, although for a nicer atmosphere I would choose the place at Five Palms?? as my favourite breakfast joint- cant beat the view! Just down the road from Village by the Sea is Monsoon Indian Restaurant- fantastic food and view-is a must go to! Our absolute most favourite place to hang out was Moose McGillicuddy's- awesome food and service, plus great happy hour and daily specials- we watched hockey games there. Another good sports bar that is close by and has a good atmoshere to watch "the game" is Scoreboards- it is new, the food is OK, and they have great happy hour specials and lots of TV's. Safeway is definitely the best place to get grocer ies, and the homemade sushi is awesome. Our favourite beach is either Wailea or Big Beach- we couldn't decide which we liked best! Hamoa beach is awesome as well (it is just after Hana I believe- we stopped there during our road to Hana trip) We went for massages on the beach at Makena Golf resort- absolutely stunning and so relaxing- would recommend that to anyone who needs to relax! For all the women who may want a manicure or pedicure- go to Quinnie's- it is on Lipoa street. I could go on forever about the things I love about Maui! We really hope that we get to come back very soon.

Maui is beautiful

It was our first trip to Maui and enjoyed every minute! The condo was perfect and the views are absolutely breath taking. The condo was fully equipped with everything we needed and very clean. Our son loved the beaches and the Molokini snorkeling trip the most, along with my husband. My favorite part was having our morning coffee on the lanai and watching whales everyday!! We also took the road around the west end of the island and it was beautiful; then another day we drove to Hana and continued back to Kihei. Yes, you can drive the whole island but if I recommend anything go clockwise. We went to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. to have lunch and we all really enjoyed it. We also went to the Maui Ocean Center, but were a little disappointed on the size of the place. I guess we were expecting more for the amount of money we spent to get in. We did most of our grocery shopping at Costco and Safeway. I would recommend this condo to anyone going to Maui, we plan on going back and hope this condo is available.

Idyllic Place!

This was the first time I have used VRBO and must admit I was a little nervous. I saw this place on line and thought it was too good to be true and was prepared to be disappointed. We were far from disappointed. The place was wonderful and my elderly father,who we took with us,just loved the lanai and the spectacular view. Norm, the neighbour and person who cleans up the place was great as well. He helped us get orientated and offered great advice about a number of things on Maui which we greatly appreciated. We ate most of our meals in but our favorite was breakfast where we sat out on the lanai and enjoyed the wonderful view and the occasional whale sighting. It is a wonderful place and we would love to go back to it sometime again soon. It has been 32 years since we were back in Maui. Thanks Karl for the chance to experience Maui in the best way.!!

Yes, my wife and I take great pride in our home on Maui and great satisfaction when we hear back from so many of our VRBO guests that they enjoyed staying there. I've often told people that we have the best view on Maui and when you're out on one of our two lanai's and see a whale breach, kite surfers sailing by, or watch the beautiful sunsets night after night, you've got to agree. When my wife and I go there, we love fixing things up, buying new stuff, keeping things fresh. When our guests return year after year and refer their friends, we know we are doing something right. We love our home on Maui and we're happy you did, too.

Hi Carl, Aloha! Thanks for the quick refund. It was a pleasure dealing with you. Here are my views about your condo and you can share this with your customers as well: First of all I want to thank you for letting us stay in your condo. It was very clean and very spacious. The condo was fully stocked though we did not cook much in the condo. Also the pictures on your web site does not do full justice to the heavenly view you have from the living room lanai. The Ocean view is out of this world and you can see ocean from any room in the condo. The Condo is centrally located and very close to good restaurants, shopping and you can get anywhere in Maui in almost 15-20 minutes. We did little bit cooking in the condo but mostly ate outside. Below are our favorite places in Maui where we would love to go again and again: 1. Stella Blue Cafe on South Kihei Road, this place is just 5 minutes from your condo and they have excellent food. This place has the best Fish in Maui and reasonably priced. 2. Taquera Cruz on S Kihei Road, opposite Kamaole 1 park Beach in a small strip mall. Just a small hole in the wall kind of a place but they had amazing blackened Fish taco's. 3. Mama's Fish House near Hookipa beach , very formal restaurant and had amazing food and service. Pricey though. 4. Pita Paradise on S Kihei Road, near Wailea. It’s tucked in a small shopping complex just before the shops at Wailea. It has great mediterrarian food and excellent service. There are many places to mention like Monsoon India ( Great Indian food: Try their Buffet on Friday and Sunday); then try Fish and Chips at Bubba Gump in Lahaina, good burgers at Peggy Sue's on South Kihei Road ( 5 minutes from Condo). We visited almost every beach in Maui but Kamaole 1 Park Beach is our favorite as it was great for kids as well as adults. Very close to Condo. We also liked Big Beach as well as Baldwin Park beach as they were less crowded and had great views. Kids enjoyed Maui ocean center, Submarine ride. Helicopter ride towards West Maui and Molokai was fantastic. Costco has a great deal for Helicopter ride with AirMaui. I recommend everyone to visit Costco as its right next to airport and you will find lot of good deals for your activities and stay in Maui. We had a awesome time in Maui and would definitely like to visit again and stay in your condo. Mahalo, Rishi

Aloha Carl! Thanks for returning our damage deposit so promptly. We wanted you to know that we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Maui. The condo was great; it was as described and pictured on the website. We loved the oceanfront location, and the views, sounds, ocean air, and bird watching from the lanai, and the fact that we couldn't hear traffic noise from the main lanai. The condo was clean on our arrival, and was well equipped. It was great having the 2 beach chairs. Karen, the concierge, was very helpful, and everything she recommended was very good. Lunch and the service at the Five Palms Restaurant was top notch, and in a spectacular beach setting. We did a sunset whale watching tour through Boss Frog- it was good value and our guide/skipper was very knowledgeable. We saw several whales and also got to hear their sounds through the underwater sound system. We would stay at your condo again if we needed a two bedroom, and I have actually already recommended it to family and friends. Mahalo!

June 29, 2009 Dear Carl, My husband, daughter, and I really enjoyed your beautiful condo on Maui. It was very neat and clean when we arrived. We were extremely pleased. Everything was right at our fingertips, and there was plenty of room. We enjoyed the pool and using the grills also. We would definitely recommend it to others. We enjoyed eating at Cafe O'Lei. The food was very good. We also found a small Mexican (fast food) restaurant called Taqueria Cruz. It was in the Dolphin Plaza. There were tables outside to sit at. My husband and daughter enjoyed snorkeling and kayaking in the Makena-Wailea area. My daughter rode a bike daily and para sailed on Maui. She also went canoeing in Kihei. The two pools were spotlessly clean and all the grounds were well-maintained with gorgeous gardens and tropical flowers. We enjoyed the communal bar-b-ques and everyone was so friendly and accomodating. Saving the best for last, that view from the lanai, what can I say...a feast for the senses, palm trees swaying, birds singing, the ever-changing sea and those awesome sunsets....my husband threatened to handcuff himself to the railing and never leave. April 16, 2009Dear Carl,Thanks so much for letting us stay at your condo in Maui. This was our 10th visit to Maui and by far your condo was the best we have stayed at to-date and the best value. It is extremely spacious and the kitchen was very nicely appointed and the new appliances were a definite bonus. The views from the two bedrooms and the lanai were incredible and I miss waking up every morning and opening my eyes to see the ocean and the palm trees – from my pillow – I didn’t even have to lift my head! I also found the condo location much quieter than previous condos we have stayed at. We also enjoyed the use of the bbqs which are conveniently located next to the pool so the kids could swim while we grilled. In our view the best beaches are in Kihei-Wailea and so the condo is the perfect location to hit the waves. I would recommend your condo any time. 1. We thourougly enjoyed our stay in your condominium. The interior felt "new", bright and spacious. The kitchen was compete and very functional, and the mirrored walls made the place feel twice as big. Internet access was easy to set up. The balcony was great for viewing the ocean and the sunsets. And the location at the North end of Kihei was ideal providing short driving times to everything in Kihei and McKenna as well as a short drive (less than 40 minutes) to Lahaina and Kaanapali etc.) And a short drive to Kahaliu. The pool area was very nice. And the barbeques were a bonus, they were very clean, seemed almost brand new. In summary it is a great condo. We enjoyed it very much. 2. The condo was very clean when we arrived 3. We had everything we needed. Lots of towels and sheets etc. and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. 4. We would definitley stay in your condo again if we return to Maui (which we might in 2 years or so) and would definitely recommend it to friends and family. 5. The obvious activities to recommend are driving the road to Hana and driving up to the summit of Haleakala. We enjoyed both. We ate suppers out about half of the time; enjoyed the Pupu Lounge, Moose McGillycuddey's, Fred's mexican, Outback Steak house, Bubba Gumps (in Lahaina) for lunch, Cheeseburger in paradise (in Lahaina) for lunch. All were good. The restaurant that we would recommend is the Greek Bistro in behind Moose McGillycuddy's in Kihei. Their menu is somewhat limited (and Greek) but the calamari starter is the best we have ever had and the prices are reasonable. If you are a snorleller (or not) you MUST take a snorkel trip to Molokine. The water is crystal clear. Snorkel Bob's has a reasonabely priced trip. Over-all we had a great time. Maiu is a great island to vist. This was our second visit to Maui and we thouroughly enjoyed it both times. We spent most of or mornings and early afternoons on various beaches: McKenna, Kaanapali, Wailea, McKenna Cove/Secret Cove, drove the road to Hana, drove up to the haleakala Summit, took a snorkel trip to Molokini/turtle town, checked out the IO needle, wandered through Lahaina and Kaanapali, snorkelled at Wailea, Ahihi and Kaanapali/Black rock (saw 2 turtles), checked out most of the beaches on the island, did the usual tourist shopping at the local shops and swap meets etc and vegged out at the condo. Aloha Carl. Thanks for the prompt refund of our deposit. It almost beat us back to the mainland!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at, "Le Penthouse". It met our expectations and much more. It truely is the best location in the entire complex. What a view of the ocean and mountains from not only the lanais off the living room and master bedroom, but from the windows of the second bedroom as well! The well stocked kitchen we used everyday. We did some dining out; however, we did dine-in to enjoy the sunset from the living room lanai. Although we didn't need to contact him, what a nice note from Norm letting us know if we needed anything to just give him a call anytime. The pool was wonderful. We spent parts of three days just lounging by the pool and playng in the water with our grand-daughter. We took advantage of stopping at COSTCO on the way in as it is convenient to the airport. Both Safeway and Star Markets are located just a short distance from the complex. We shopped at each as well. We enjoyed dining at Stella Blues just down Kehei Rd from the complex. For Greatful Dead groupies, it's walls are full of memorabilia. The food and service were great. If you just want good Hawaiian food, check out Da Kitchen Express a couple of miles south on Kehei Rd from the complex. We found it full of local patrons; a line out the door; and, did I mention the food. You can call ahead and place an order (i.e., we did) to save some time. Even if you have to wait, it is well worth it in our opinion. It is not for dining-in; but if it is Hawaiian food you want then give it a try. Again, thanks for letting us stay at, "Le Penthouse" What a wonderful place. Unfortunately we don't have any immediate plans to return to the Islands soon (sigh). We enjoyed the lovely pool and the jacuzzi, and the very convenient location to so many great Maui activities - snorkeling, walking on the beach and the Maui Ocean Center. BUT - Sitting on the balcony - watching the sunset as the breezes ruffled the palm trees - priceless. Very comfortable and well appointed space - with a well stocked kitchen. We loved out time at the condo and can't wait to go back.

Le Penthouse has beautiful views from each bedroom and living area. The condo is wonderfully stocked: champagne glasses to knives. Waking up to the view each day was what made this vacation one of our best! Maui is beautiful and this condo is conveniently located and very comfortable. We did not want to leave and are looking forward to returning!

Le Penthouse was perfect for my first visit to Hawaii and Maui. The condo was quiet, clean, comfortable, not to mention the incredible views from our lanais - amazing. The sunsets and early mornings were the most exquisite. We were close to everything and having a fully stocked kitchen came in handy as to avoid eating out every meal. I would like to thank you so much for letting us stay at your house. We had a great time and had great vacation. We were very happy about your unit because we enjoyed beautiful sunset everyday,we had everything we need,room was comfortable. My father has bad knees so he cannot walk far.He stayed in the room most of the time but he stayed in the Lanai and watched whales splashing and enjoyed spectacular sunsets every evening. He really liked your new bath tub because it is big. I would recommend your unit to my friends and family who plan to visit on Maui. Thank you Carl

The condo is absolutely beautiful. What a great job you all did in redecorating and creating such a lovely atmosphere. The sad thing is with the wedding and all, we were not there as much as I would have liked. We were in constant motion until after the wedding. (Our daughter got married on the beach in front of Kehei Surfside/ 5 Palms restaurant.) Mike and I want to return next fall to enjoy ourselves and to appreciate your wonderful location and awesome condo even more. It was clean and had everything we needed. Didn't use the kitchen but next time we will! We read "Maui Revealed" cover to cover and have lots we want to do next time. Most definitely we would recommend the condo to any and all, as long as it doesn't keep us from coming back the week we want to! Debbie

We stayed at Le Penthouse for one week in October 2007 and it was beautiful! Amazing views of the ocean from both the living room and bedroom balconies. Very clean and quiet with all the amenities of home. We ate in almost every night as we knew we'd have a hard time beating the views anywhere else. Very convenient location as the condo is very close to grocery stores and restaurants and is just a short walk to the beach. We would absolutely recommend staying at this condo - we can't wait to go back!
