An ideal getaway not far from Boone, West Jefferson, and Blowing Rock, this comfortable well-appointed, well-outfitted cottage sits on a long scenic bend of the New River. The house is paneled and trimmed throughout with varied domestic and exotic woods. The front porch looks out over a rock-terraced flower garden and winding rock stairway. The back porch looks across the river into a steep bank of rhododendrons and hardwoods on the far bank. Wildlife can be glimpsed along the banks most times of the year. A small pond at the far end of the property is home to hosts of turtles, frogs, and in the warmer months, dragon flies and water birds. Year round the property is a bird paradise.
