  Why stay in a hotel when you can stay in an authentic Amsterdam canal house, complete with your own kitchen, for approximately the same amount of money? I'm a tiny bit reluctant to sing the praises of the "Pearl" studio only because I have every intention of returning and hope there won't be *too* much competition for dates when I'm ready to visit Amsterdam again. My partner and I were there for a week celebrating our 20th anniversary -- It's hard to imagine a better experience. The apartment is clean, quiet, well-appointed, comfortable, in an ideal location (a one-minute walk to a large grocery store, two minutes to Dam Square) on the Singel (the innermost of the circle of canals in the Centrum) ... and Marten and Jojo are wonderful hosts. If you're looking for an authentic experience of what it's like to live in this wonderful city, don't hesitate: This apartment is a wonderful lace to call home.

  We stayed in the Pearl for 3 nights in late May 2011. The apartment is exactly as pictured. Very comfortable and with all the amenities one would need. Huge windows with a wonderful view of the Singel Canal. You can easily walk to all the major attractions or simply hop on a tram. The owners, Martin and Jojo, could not have been more helpful. They even provided us with a museum card that we were able to use to get into all the major museums. A major plus. In all, a fantastic apartment in a great location.

  The apartment is in an ideal location. There is a bike rental next door, a large supermarket a block away, plenty of restaurants within walking distance and Dam Square is about two blocks away. Central Station is an easy walk or a short train ride. The apartment has a great view of the canal and is very comfortable and quiet. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

  This place is ABSOLUTELY wonderful! Mostly because of the friendly service we received from the owners. Totally helpful and informative. The room was detailed twice a week and we had access to the laundry (which is nice!) The kitchen was very well equipped and the grocery store was very close. We cooked many wonderful meals at home! Location is right next to Dam Square so the shopping and access to tours was very close. We did our homework before deciding on this place and we were glad we did!

  This apt. was lovely and met all my needs as described. I enjoyed cooking in the full kitchen and delighted in the heated stone floors in the WC and the spacious walk in shower. The hosts were so friendly and helpful with advice and good instructions when we needed them. The view from the window on the canal was beautiful and we took advantage of the fact that the owners owned a wonderful canal boat that offered a gourmet dinner cruise. The captain of the boat gave us great facts as we cruised the scenic canals. He was so knowledgeable and had a very rye sense of humor. We had broadband and cable TV and access just across the hall to a washer and dryer. This apt. is so conveniently located to a super market, public transportation, shopping and a nice coffee shop next door. I would recommend this VRBO location to anyone who wants a nice environment and a great location. I felt very at home here and had a great and relaxing visit to Amsterdam because of my cozy home to return to every night.
