This was an incredible stay. It was like living in a treehouse. There were 12 windows facing east that let in the sun and moonlight. Enchanting. The decor mixed French, Mexican, and stateside beach. Big bathroom with great ventilation. Open your window to look upon a giant sycamore tree overhanging the creek. Birds galore. Just steps to the beach where we picked up beautiful beach glass in blues, greens, and white, smooth stones with interesting patterns, and driftwood. The best find, however, was an interesting sea creature with white waving tendrils. My husband told me it is one of the oldest animals. Great restaurants in Montecito, a long walk, or a few minutes drive. This town has a population of 10,000. You never have to leave Montecito. Lotusland is a big draw here.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much for this wonderful review. I really appreciate you taking the time to post one. I am so happy you enjoyed your stay here and your time at the beach too sounds really interesting. Always, great things to be found there. Hope you can come again soon!!!

Just as all the guests have confirmed here, this is a lovely way to spend some relaxing time away from it all. Cozy, comfortable and convenient! Less that a 5 minute walk to a beautiful beach, easy access to SB, quiet and well furnished. Hated to leave, but guests were coming all the way from Rome and had to be good neighbors :) Many thanks to Nicola and her kind family! Hope to return in the not-too-distant future.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We recently stayed 2 nights at Creekside Montecito, and recommend it highly! The room is charming, in a quiet setting, set amidst beautiful trees, next to a lovely creek. Best of all, it is within easy walking distance of the beach. Nicola and Cliff were such gracious hosts, providing excellent breakfast food and even loaning us their bikes. This was a great way to enjoy beautiful Santa Barbara and also have a private, quiet get-a-way. We'll definitely be back!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.

Had a GREAT one week stay at the Creekside Monticeto. The location is perfect and just blocks from the beach. After several days we felt like locals. Nicola and Cliff are very personable and helpful. Just the right amount of attention. The accomadations are also great.Very private,light-filled,spotless,and designed to make you feel very comfortable.Very relaxing. We Liked all the wonderful breakfast items in the room + teas, popcorn, fruit, etc. They have beach chairs, towels, sun umbrella that you can borrow. The beach was great to walk on going either directions. We hope to return again for a longer stay. All in all it was a perfect place to stay and so close to all the sights and to get on/off the freeway. Of couse, this was made possible by the hospitality of our hosts.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Miramar Beach View on map
Miramar Beach is only a short walk from my house. It feels different to many Santa Barbara beaches because of the way it curves around. The tide pools on the west end of the beach are a source of endless fun. swimming is good at Miramar Beach and can be especially fun if you bring bodyboards and ride the small waves. Where you enter Miramar Beach there is a trail that says "Hammonds Meadows". It takes you on a sand path past tropical plants and flowers to Hammonds Beach.

Hiking Trails View on map
The front country is the region that most people think of when they decide to take a hike in Santa Barbara. The front country is the south-facing slope of the Santa Ynez Mountains. These are the most favorite of Santa Barbara's trails. This is the beginning of the McMenemy/Saddlerock/Girard Loop. This is a lovely hike in the lower parts of the mountains above Montecito. There are nice view spots along the way.

Why the Owner Chose Montecito:
We have lived here for 30 years. We built our guest cottage 20 years ago. We love our home and location and wanted to share it with guests and help them discover the Santa Barbara area. We enjoy hosting company and the guest house has given us a wonderful opportunity to do that.
