This was truly the perfect place for my family to have a mini get together for our sons 50th birthday. The home is beautifully appointed, it has everything you could possibly need including a quisinart! The location is perfect, you can easily walk to Solvang yet you are on the edge of town and in a very private location with a beautiful view of the valley, no traffic, great parking, quiet and so comfortable you really don't want to leave. Within 5 miles you can visit many nice places, the Mission Santa Inez, wineries, shopping, the ocean is nearby, many very good places to eat and of course the bakeries in Solvang. The owner is wonderful and makes the whole rental process very easy. Everything and more is accurate about her listing, the interior is just lovely, well maintained ready for you on arrival, better than the pictures and the little (outdoor) kitty shows up in the am for some food which is right there and no problem at all. We all felt like we were very much at home and I found it hard to leave after four days. YES I would definitely stay here again and recommend to most anyone who likes the homey, gracious charm in a place they rent for whatever the occasion.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Dear Julee - You have a beautiful home, even more beautiful than the pictures can show. We stayed for a girl's getaway in the upper level. Between the home's decor and the landscape views, it was like being in Tuscany without leaving the country. The linens were excellent quality and the house immaculate and well appointed. We enjoyed watching the birds play in the fountain while we had our morning coffee. The upper deck is perfect in the late afternoon after a busy day in town. Julee, you made us feel like family and we thank you for a wonderful time. We will definitely return whenever in the area. I could not stay in a hotel after staying in your home. Thanks again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

I should have written this review much earlier but kept forgetting to log on. Julee really took care of us with this unusually comfortable and luxurious home-away-from home. I arrived with 4 couples and we took advantage of the 4 bedrooms, kitchen(s), outdoor deck, and it was a perfect getaway for 4 young couples from LA coming to Solvang to taste wine and enjoy the town in a chill fashion. We had 2 chefs in group and we pre-planned our dinners to cook from 'home' and the kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed!! Also although a previous reviewer had mentioned that cats lived there, I also traveled with 2 people with severe cat allergies and I simply e-mailed the owner about this and she assured me it would be immaculately clean and it was!! I don't really have any complaints about this rental...Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We rented rim of the hill during our son's destination wedding week in Santa Ynez. We were so impressed with the well stocked kitchen, the lovely French decor and the views. We were able to save some money by preparing a few meals at the house and everything we could possibly need was there. The furniture is comfy and so were the beds. We enjoyed a meal on the deck that has gorgeous mountain views. We would definitely rent this home again, thank you for a wonderful time. We loved everything about the house! It was so wonderful to come "home" after a long day at the Tour of California & wine tasting. We can't wait to come back next May for the bike race. It was so relaxing to eat dinner and watch the sunset over the valley. Thank you for a lovely time. We apprciate you sharing your cozy house!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Hospitality to the max! This homeowner provides an abundance of fluffy white towels, sumptuous bed linens, casual throws for use on the patio, a gourmet's kitchen in upper unit, complete with plenty of wine glasses and anything you might need! We barbecued both nights, and just enjoyed our "home away from home" . Perfect weekend retreat, fabulous views (bonus: watched a full moon rise over the mountains!). A great place to "wine down" with friends !Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

About the owner: I am a local Realtor both in Santa Barbara and the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley! I purchased this 1 1/2 acre property in 2001 when I moved to Solvang. What a wonderful place to live and visit! This home is full of my favorite things for you to enjoy.
Why the Owner Chose Solvang:
I didn't purchase this home with the idea of making it a monthly vacation rental.....I just loved it and wanted to stay!..... but as it is today, with so many people traveling and enjoying homes instead of hotels, this property begs to be shared!
