Each bedroom is a master suite featuring a private bathroom and a majestic view of the bay and marshes (paradise for bird watchers). Glass doors slide open from each room onto a wrap-around deck with a screened-in porch. There are two separate living areas, a well-equipped kitchen, ceramic tile, and a beautifully landscaped PRIVATE SCREENED POOL overlooking the marshes. Three blocks away (on quiet roads or trails) to the beach, dunes, and tennis courts.
This beautiful bay view house is situated at the end of a cul-de-sac road in the Plantation, a famous, gated community that has preserved the natural beauty of the barrier island. The Plantation has extensive bike trails, a community pool, 3 different tennis courts, and a rock jetty (The Cut) famous for excellent fishing. After a day of outdoor activities, the private screened pool overlooking the marshes will entice you to relax and enjoy the great view and the local bird community. The house also has an enclosed outdoor shower and a fish cleaning sink.
This house has two separate living room areas, each with a flat-panel cable TV, that can easily accommodate two families. The wrap-around deck and the screened porch provide an unobstructed view. Two large decks facing the bay are furnished with Adirondack chairs and a hammock, a perfect place to relax and enjoy the great view of the bay and marshes. Beds include one king, one queen, and one bunk bed consisting of a lower-queen and single-upper.

Why the Owner Chose Plantation
We discovered St. George Island during the winter of 2003/2004 after an extensive search for an ideal winter rental location. We like to be active and SGI offers extensive hiking and biking trails, as well as 20 miles of beach (we have hiked every inch of those 20 miles). In addition, the mainland north of the island is fantastic for river canoeing and kayaking. We love the beauty of SGI, with none of the overdevelopment so common throughout Florida. After renting on SGI for several years, we purchased "A Bay to Remember" in September, 2008.
The Unique Benefits at this House
If you like elbow room and privacy, you will love "A Bay to Remember." ABTR is on a one-acre lot with all adjacent lots currently undeveloped. Pictures do not do justice to the views toward Apalachicola Bay. We often find ourselves just looking out the windows. ABTR has 100% tile floors, which are vastly superior to carpet with an island climate and pet rentals.

Second time to visit and hope to have many more. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We absolutely love the home and the peaceful setting. Private yet convenient. The weather could not have been more beautiful. Lars is so kind and accomodating. We do appreciate working with us on last minute plans. Our only complaint is that we had to leave.

Wow - this residence is a beautiful private vacation home with luxurious amenities. The 2 separate living areas allowed our group to split the 'early sunrise beach walkers' from the late risers. This place is perfect for walkers, bikers, sightseers, swimmers, fishers, sightseers, tennis players - we could do 'our own things' and meet back home for dinner. There are screened porches around the entire house, making for wonderful wildlife viewing during all meals - as well as both sunrise and sunsets. The white sand beaches were easy walking distance from the bay, with a variety of shells and driftwood to find. Thankfully, the BP spill never touched this gorgeous area and it remains pristine. We highly recommend staying at this "Bay To Remember."

Pictures do not do justice to the home as seeing it in person. The view of the bay is AWESOME. The pool is FABULIOUS and we had a great time out there. It is a must that you try out the hammock……so relaxing, with a beautiful view. The accommodations were very comfortable and very clean, however there is lots of stairs. The kitchen had anything you should need (other than food of course.) lol. It is a nice walk to the beach along the trails. We had a peaceful, relaxing stay. A nice distance between houses, did not hear anyone. Cannot say enough about it! Needless to say we were VERY PLEASE with our stay! The one thing I would recommend if you have small children you really need to take a baby gate to block the stairs at the top living area. That is one thing we did not take that we could have used. Highly recommend this home, the home owner is GREAT to work with, responds quickly, and the rental agency was wonderful as well!!! :0)
Owner response:Good notes on the stairs. Except for a very small number of older, grandfathered houses, all homes on the island are on stilts. While being on stilts does enhance views, it does mean stairs.

A Bay to Remember is the perfect place to vacation with or without children. Easy walking distance to the sand beaches, lots of shelling, beautiful to walk along the shore as the sun rises. The home is nicely decorated, beds are comfortable, the kitchen is very well equipped, so nice to eat meals out on the screened-in porch. Perfect location if you enjoy listening to the birds chirping and the sounds of the ocean, flowers blooming, and don't like crowded, noisy beaches and traffic.

The pool was great,the walk to the ocean was a little confusing,its shorter to drive to the public beach or to the cut.But the house is alright and the kitchen is great,i liked all the decks and plenty of room for everyone to relax.
Owner response:Sorry you did not find the map in our guest book. There is a direct 3-block scenic walk to the beach, as well as several nearby nature trails. Although, a lot of people do like going to the Cut for frequent dolphin viewing.

We had an excellent time. The house is very well appointed and well laid out. The view of the bay is lovely and the sunsets were awesome. It was also very quiet and private. The screened pool was a perfect place to relax after a day on the beach. Would definately recommend a stay at this beautiful home!
