My family recently stayed at the Berg House in St. Paul to celebrate our son's college graduation. It was the perfect house for so many reasons. The house was clean and ready for us upon arrival. The house is much larger than the photos make it appear. This was a nice surprise. Seven adults and two kids under 2 stayed in the house, but with other out-of-town family and guests our number grew to 13 for dinner each night. The kitchen (well stocked with everything we needed!) and eating area were big enough to hold all of us comfortably. The Berg House quickly became the place to gather together. There was plenty of parking and access to the house was easy. We spent a lot of time outside on the patio because of the nice weather. We even grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for our crowd one night because there was a grill available. The house was very kid friendly with a crib, high chair and toys. Also, the park just across the street was perfect for our very busy 22 month old granddaughter. I cannot say enough about how easy it was to deal with the owner, Svein. He was patient with my myriad of emails asking loads of questions. He always responded promptly (a big plus) and kindly. Our deposit was refunded within 36 hours of our stay. Svein made the process of renting this house simple and easy. While everything about the physical house was great, it was the intangible "feeling of home" that I think makes the Berg House special. All our family members and friends commented on how comfortable the house felt and how everyone could just relax and enjoy our time together. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a vacation rental in St. Paul.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

My wife and 4 children just returned from a week long stay at the Berg home. The location to local Minneapolis/St. Paul attractions and restaurants is wonderful. Mall of America is only a 10 minute drive. The home is clean, cozy and charming and we really enjoyed the fireplace on those chilly nights. The owners are just great and very helpful. If you are heading to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area this is where you want to stay...you will love it! Thank you Berg home!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

This house suits our needs for staying in the Twin Cities to visit grandchildren and children for an extended time; the house is simple, warm and well located near my favorite Mississippi Market, Bars Bakery and Black and Blue ( a clothing boutique with unique choices for men and women). And within a few blocks is my favorite "Cheeky Monkey" lunch place! The round about, and the small city park in the center give the location a unique feel and though we've never been there when school is in session, the playground is inviting and the neighborhood great for an afternoon or evening walk.Did you find this review helpful? My family rented Berg house for early holiday celebration with our son. We had two couples and two children staying at the house. It was very comfortable and was in a nice quiet neighborhood. The location is great. Everything was clean and in working order. Had a tv issue and the owners were quick to get it fixed. We would stay there again. A good value too . Thanks Bergs!Recommended for: Families with young children.

We had a great time staying at the Berg House! They have some great toys for the kids to play with which I was not expecting, but was glad to see. It was also nice to have the kitchen full of things that you wouldn't expect at just any rental house.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

About the owner: We are a family of five, currently living in Manhattan, New York. Olga is born in Ukraine and Svein is from Norway. Our three children Sebastian, Sophie and Ingrid keep us pretty busy.
Why the Owner Chose St. Paul:
We bought this house in 2005 when we moved to St. Paul. The house was built in 1889, and has a character and charm that spoke to us. It is in a child friendly neighborhood, with a huge park just across the street. Mississippi Market, our local Coop with local and organic produce, is just a two minutes walk away.
