A beautiful three story home, Sound of Mind has been professionally decorated in the Hemingway Island motif. Four well appointed bedrooms plus a bonus apartment, can easily and comfortably accommodate 8 to 10 persons. The master suite is situated on the third floor with fabulous views from its very private veranda. A gourmet kitchen, wet bar, serving area and wine butler provide for great relaxation and entertaining in the great room. The bonus apartment features an efficiency kitchen, a full bath and two queen sleeper sofas. Enjoy Keys breezes from a screened veranda spanning the entire back of the home. A sandy beach area at the back of the home beyond the pool offers a great play area for children or a nice nap area for a lazy afternoon on the hammock. It’s the perfect Keys retreat for families or a romantic getaway.
So many great activities await you here! Kayaks are provided for our guests ( a one person and a 2 person). Paddle 200 yards to the world renowned Pennecamp Coral Reef State Park and enjoy their facilities including two sandy beaches and complete snorkel/scuba facilities, plus a glass bottom boat. We’re right up the street from Dolphin Plus, where you can schedule a swim with the dolphin adventure. If you like to fish, you should know that this is the fishing capital of the world! Fish for marlin, sailfish, wahoo, snapper and grouper on the Atlantic Ocean, and fish for tarpon bonefish, trout , redfish on the Gulf. Bring your boat and dock in the private marina 200 feet from the house for free. Or you can charter a boat at one of many marinas along Overseas Highway. You can also fish, lobster or snorkel right off our beach .
Located at MM 103 in heart of Key Largo, and only a 45 minute drive from the Miama Airport, you only a few minutes drive of a whole assortment of great restaurants, including Mrs. Mac’s Kitchen, The Fish House, Encore, Num Tai’s. If you like a little nightlife, The Big Chill, The Carribeen Club, Pilot House and Snappers offer local entertainment , food and wonderful tropical beverages and again are minutes away!

What a beautiful home! Our family was together (all of us) for the first time in several years! We all are so delighted to have chosen your home. We too are celebrating a special surprise birthday for Chris and he really was surprised. We were all in awe of this beautiful home. It truly has everything anyone could want. We loved every minute . The kayaks, fishing, little beach (became Bo's beach) the pool, the porch, a different sunrise every day. Thank you very much. The decor was wonderful with so many animal images. Three generations gathered together for a celebration of Mother's 80th birthday. We had a blast! This was a perfect spot and paradise to celebrate life and love! Thank you so much for the opportunity to enjoy this lovely property. We kayaked, swam all hours, and went boating. There are really no words to express how much we shared here- what fun! This was a great week and we enjoyed every minute inside Sound of Mind. It was very calm and peaceful here. I know I speak for everyone when I say awesome job! We really enjoyed your beautiful home! We had a terrific time in Key Largo (diving, swimming, with the dolphins, eating out, jet skiing, ect) but what was especially nice was to return home after a long day and enjoy family time together in such a lovely home. We took advantage of your cards, games and videos. Our mother spent many hours reading on the screened porch and watching everyone in the pool. Especially thank your for the generous gift basket. We truly enjoyed our stay at "Sound of Mind". The pool was fabulous, the view gorgeous and the accommodations outstanding. About the owner: We hope you enjoy your stay in the Keys, wherever you decide to stay. You will find as we did that there is a distinct laid-back feeling here that is nowhere else in the US. There is no sense of urgency, no need to stress, no problem that a look out at the beautiful water can’t help. Being Ohio transplants, David and I know cold and snow, and while we still cherish our roots, we love our paradise home of Key Largo. We are boating enthusiasts, water lovers, fishermen, so this is the place for us. Most days we wake to blue skies and blue waters surrounding us! Entertainment if we want, just relaxing if that’s the plan! Not a bad restaurant in sight, glorious fresh seafood at the market or at the restaurant! We hope that you get to capture and experience the island feeling while you are here in the Keys and that you can take a little of it back home with you! We have made our home a comfortable haven for you. We’ve supplied all the necessities for you to have a great stay.
