In a beautiful period house set less than half a mile from Oxford’s historic centre with its university colleges and beautiful architecture, our charming second floor apartment is available for you to enjoy. Ideal for two people, it is a little oasis of peace and tranquillity hidden behind an iron gate and a curtain of foliage with all the hustle and bustle of Oxford life easily reachable by a pleasant stroll along the Thames or Abingdon Road (no need for car hire).
The Victorian house is converted into five separate apartments, and you will have the whole of the top floor to yourself. There is ample parking (unusual in Oxford) if you should need it as the house has its own rear driveway and parking area, and you are free to enjoy a gin and tonic on the lawns as you watch the evening sun set over Oxford’s "dreaming spires."
The apartment enjoys a fantastic location next to lovely Hinksey Park with its tennis courts, open air swimming pool and boating lakes. A few steps away, over the road from the apartment, you will find the Four Pillars Hotel nestling in 20 acres of Thames-side parkland--a 4-star hotel with excellent restaurant, bar and terraces. The gym, pool and spa are also available for your use for a small fee or you can book yourself in for a beauty treatment if you are feeling self-indulgent.
The apartment itself is full of original features with solid wood floors and doors, original windows to the front and has a large double bedroom, useful dining area, open plan kitchen/living area and a stylish bathroom.
The living area contains a sofa bed for your use if required and television with DVD player and digital channels. There is a stereo system and CDs and there are plenty of books available as well. Wireless internet is free for your use.
The kitchen area is well equipped with all you need to prepare your own meals, and there is a washer dryer available should you need it.
The apartment has a small dining area and the beautiful bathroom has a fantastic shower and bathtub to soak in by candlelight after a hard day spent exploring the nooks and crannies of Oxford. A travel cot and highchair are available if required.
You will want for nothing in our gorgeous flat. A welcome pack with essential supplies and a bottle of wine will be waiting for you on arrival, and we will show you around personally to make sure you have everything you need and are feeling nicely at home and able to enjoy your special time in Oxford. |
