"Arcadia" is the perfect home away from home. It is 2 miles outside of Mt. Shasta city, but sits by itself, on 6 acres. It is surrounded by forest, with complete privacy. We strive to make this stay a comfortable one, with all the amenities of your own home. There is a woodstove as well as electric heat and all the equipment to cook a full holiday meal. If you want to relax at the end of a hard day on the slopes or hiking trail, we have a large clawfoot tub for soaking.
Mt. Shasta has plenty of recreational activities, but if you want to just relax here, I have plenty of books, magazines, puzzles, movies and toys to keep everyone entertained while visiting this beautiful area.

The Unique Benefits at this House
This property is unique as it has not train or freeway noise! Relax with just the serenity of geese in the pasture across the road and the birds in the yard!
Owner's Map of Mount Shasta
I purchased this house in Mount Shasta in 1999, thinking I might retire there. Well, since then I have missed my country lifestyle, with animals, so I have moved up onto the Klamath River. I love this house and the setting, but I didn't have enough space to have farm animals there and that is why while I don't live in my house in Mount Shasta anymore, I hope that sharing it with vacation renters will delight someone else. It is a great place to have family gatherings, as I have had and to take children and grandchildren, to the nearby lake. If you are ever on the Klamath River, you are welcome to give me a cal and stop by and see the angora goats, Scottish Highland cows or Great Pyrenees dogs. Rita

I stayed at this beautiful property during a dancing facilitator training I took about 1 1/2 up the road from the house. I found the whole place to be very beautiful and tranquil for resting and regenerating during this rigorous training I participated in. It was just me, a single gal and I was very much at ease coming to and fro. Everything is in close proximity. The scenery is gorgeous, the house is very cozy, especially the living room and by the parlor stove, and the bedroom with the canopy and mural on back wall is stunning. I had all the privacy and serenity I could ask for. Thank you for providing an amazing place to experience while visiting Mt. Shasta. I would certainly visit again!
Owner response:Thanks for taking the time to write this nice review, Eve! It is always so nice to have vacationers come and enjoy the tranquility of the house and surroundings!

My daughter and I stayed here for a few days of relaxation and bonding, game-playing, cooking. What a fabulous place! From my master bedroom window upstairs I watched the snow fall in the morning........exactly what I was looking for. I love the sun porch, even though it is winter, for viewing that beautiful snowy pasture across the street. You feel you are completely tucked away from the world. Rita has every conceivable supply you would ever need to feed the wood stove, cook, watch movies, snowshoe around...........even toys and strollers for young ones. Rita is soooooo accommodating and wonderful to deal with..............seems her main wish is that you have a wonderful stay.
Owner response: It really is a goal of mine, to make everyone's stay as wonderful as can possibly be, in Mt. Shasta!! If there is something you do not see offered, please ask if it can be provided for you, as my renter.

I loved this cabin. We wanted privacy for a romantic getaway and wefound it at Arcadia. The house is beautiful, fully stocked (lovelysoaps!) and comfy. It had everything we needed to cook meals in andeat at the patio table overlooking the peaceful pasture framed bypines. We took trips to Mt. Shasta and walked around the property, butexcept for a quick trip to the supermarket, we were blissfully alone. -Cris Gutierrez

I stayed for 3 weeks during Sept. of 2008. I used to live in Mt. Shasta as a kid and love the place. I had a wonderful time and yes the place is so quiet and peaceful, I loved the pasture view and the ability to walk around the neighborhoods. The bed was very comfortable. I will be back. Thanks Rita

I have a whole notebook with positive comments and have just recently added this guestbook comment section, but will say that one of the most often comments made is "this place is so serene and you have provided everything we could possibly have needed".
