Welcome to the historic Doublegate Inn, a Bed and Breakfast located on Cedar Knoll. This country manor has been tailored to those seeking quiet relaxation in splendid rooms on dreamy beds. This intimate Inn has the feeling of a getaway with the comforts and warmth of a lovely home. We welcome those guests who appreciate a good nights rest, a complete breakfast prepared with the finest and freshest ingredients, along with hand selected teas and organic coffees. Each room is a mini-suite with either a reading chair or a sofa, private bathroom, and a deep bathtub. You'll find a comfy TV lounge upstairs, with a flatscreen which is complimentary with the king suite, or shared when warrented. Downstairs in the Living room is a shared television area with an enormous DVD library, and a large wood burning fireplace, which is known to be lit year-round. A private library of collected books is also available for your purusal. Subjects range from golf (our favorite), design, photography, art, local and world history, and classic literature, and you may even find a novel or two to enjoy in your room. Whether you are an avid golfer or fisherman who rises with the breaking dawn, an obsessed skiier who needs to be first in the lift line, a bird watcher, hiker, or bicyclist, we are here to support your enthusiasm for your sport.

Think of us at the Doublegate Inn on Cedar Knoll when you are in need of a blissful retreat. Just don't be surprised by the wafting scent of freshly baked cookies upon your arrival. We have small well behaved pets on the property, so it is a challenge to accomodate guest's canine family members, however children are welcome!     • My 18 year old granddaughter and I spent our first trip together at the amazing Doublegate Inn. We were treated like royalty and fed like Queens. The Quiche is unforgettable! Eric and Stephanie-thanks so much for a wonderful experience. the Doublegate is so welcoming. It is warm and elegant at the same time. We'll remember our stay here with great fondness.     • One night is not enough! I wish I could have stayed a week. This place is as comfortable as home... but does your home have such wonderful decor, a fabulous cook, hundreds of books, comfy sofas and chairs all over, a hot tub and a kind man to keep all the fireplaces going while his sweet wife makes sure you want for nothing? The guest rooms are tucked away upstairs, each with private luxury bath, imaginatively decorated and so snug you'll be happy even if it's a rainy night. I wish I'd had the leisure to enjoy the "Portabella Lounge" for a movie or a session of the Olympics on TV, but the hundreds of books kept me too well occupied. We got in two hikes...a moderate one to Mirror Lake and a short but spectacular walk to ZigZag Falls. I nearly wore out the shutter on my camera! The Inn's guidebooks to the area show so much recreation within just a few miles that multiple trips in all seasons are in our plans already. The charm of the Doublegate and its hospitable innkeepers, Eric & Stephanie, puts you in a constant dilemma... you sooo want to lounge and unwind at that peaceful place, but the uncountable adventures to be had right there on the mountain call irresistably as well. I will be back with my kayak this summer, again to mushroom in the fall, and with my skis this winter. I can imagine no "homier" home base for outdoor adventurers, or golfers, or those who just want to de-stress in a quiet, lovely setting. I could write another whole essay on the food, but just take my word for it... your stay here will be unforgettable.

      What a beautiful relaxing comfortable spot...We don't want to leave! From the welcome sign, cookies, and fruited lemonade to the super comfortable beds, crackling fires, and delicious breakfast, our stay was just perfect. We loved playing croquet on the front lawn, sinking into plus sofas to enjoy the opening ceremony of the olympics, and using the Doublegate Inn as a base from which to explore Mt. Hood. We look forward to coming back!

    • Wow, what a first rate experience all around! The Double Gate was like a county manor. My husband and I stayed for two nights last week and everything was so special that I'm telling everyone about it. Everything from the elegant decor to the delicious breakfast (Stephanie, I'm still dreaming about the quiche)to the comfortable bed to sleep in was perfect. Eric and Stephanie are wonderful people as well as master inn-keepers and we enjoyed the time we spent with them, too. We highly recommend this B&B and can't wait to visit again.
