your house was perfect for our 8 adults and 6 young children---everybody especially enjoyed the pool and the spa---the house was large enough that each family could have their own little area when they wanted. it was close enough to the beach whereby we did not need to drive to get to the beach and some shops---thanks for letting us use this wonderful property

We had a small family reunion before & after a relative wedding on Feb. 29! Your home was very clean & spacious - comfortable!. We had plenty of room especially in the family room where we usually gathered. The weather was too cold for the pool, but we did use the hot tub! It was fun walking to the different restaurants that you listed in your "guest book." How thoughtful of you, Cyndi. And we greatly appreciated your generous change in arrival time after a 7 hour drive from AZ. We are planning to get together again & will use your suggestions. We can count on you! Great house!!! Our family of 19....(Basically all adults and a 3 year old) spent an extended weekend here over Thanksgiving. Ideal location for enjoying the beach or getting on the freeway to go play. The pool/ hot tub were great, beds were comfy, plenty of bathrooms, and we Enjoyed most of the comforts of our own home. Cindy was so good to work with. She was accomodating w our requests and great with communication. Loved the city of Carlsbad and all it had to offer, as well. Thanks and see you next time:)

This house made the most wonderful setting for our family reunion. We were nine people staying in the house with many guests coming and going. The spacious open floor plan worked wonderfully well for our large group. We especially enjoyed the beautiful backyard with the pool and hottub. Very lovely!

The house worked out very well for our family. Plenty of room and with 4 pre-school age children and one toddler, the pool/hot tub worked out great. The kids had so much fun playing in the pool and hot tub. For what cooking we did the kitchen worked out good, no complaints. Who cares if the dishes don't match--we were there on vacation not entertaining anyone. For having no air conditioning the house stayed cool and comfortable. We recently stayed there in April 2011 and loved it. The house was perfect. We were a group of 12 and had plenty of room and everyone had a great time. Cyndi is awesome to work with. Would highly recommend this property. The hot tub was enjoyed by all. The pictures you see are exactly what you get. Property was very clean as well as the surrounding neighborhood.

Fabulous Location for Women's Retreat

I organized a women's church retreat for about 20 women over 3 nights in April 2010. We had to double up with beds and use air mattresses and couches, but there was plenty of room for this. The master suite has two walk-in closets each big enough for a queen air mattress. We had 6 people in the master suite alone. The photos were great, you can't tell from the photos that the kitchen opens up to the family room, which was wonderful. The pool and spa were great, but the grassy area seemed smaller than I expected from the photo. Overall, the home was better than I expected from the photos. We had room for a yoga session for 8 on the back patio. The beach was a little further than I had imagined, about a 10 min walk, but still not bad. It was clean and beautiful and very easy to find. There were plenty of sheets and towels for the group, as well as almost all of the kitchen supplies we needed. There was even an extra twin mattress that we hadn't been counting on, which was wonderful. We're very pleased that we stayed at this rental. I had so many questions for Cyndi and she was very helpful. If our group doesn't grow very much, we will probably return here next year.

Family get together prior to a family wedding

Our family experience was not what we expected or viewed in the pictures. Home was beautiful from the outside (front/back) however the inside showed very differently. Beds were by far just marginal along with the bedding/towels which showed a lot of wear/tear. Kitchen very poorly appointed with a mix-match of plates, pots/pan, limited glasses and general kitchen accessories. Had to call the manager to get a working iron and an air bed that did not have a hole in it. The backyard provided a lovely setting, plenty of chairs and picnic table, however there was not a single pool toy that did not have a hole in it and the BBQ required cleaning. The property was extremely convenient to the freeway and downtown Carlsbad, plenty of places to eat. Home is located on a busy street so our children needed supervision if out front and the garage that is mentioned was locked and not available, parking was limited in the evenings as most is on street parking, during the day there was no issues. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this property if you are used to the nicer end of what VRBO has to offer.

Owner response:The interior of the home is exactly as pictured in our 16 photos - fun, beautiful, and comfortable! (See our other reviews.) We periodically replace items that have been worn or broken by our guests, and recently purchased a new BBQ, new set of Farberware pots/pans, and new kitchen glasses. The kitchen is very well supplied with a large variety of kitchen utensils, knives and appliances. Since this review, our cleaning service has been instructed to also check the BBQ cleanliness and pool toy box. The garage was temporarily unavailable that weekend, but is now open. It offers 3 spaces, plus 4 spaces available in the driveway, and lots of street parking. This guest had a huge party at the house, with many many more cars than our usual guests would have. Perhaps she was upset that we charged her for the broken glasses found poking out of their trash bags.

We had the most wonderful reunion and reception at this house. We had family from 4 states visit and had plenty of room for everyone. Cynthia was fantastic and it was close to the beach and resteraunts. We were able to bring our kids and dog and it was amazing. I will remember it always.

nice home for a family get together. the swimming pool/hot tub is best feature. access to beaches is very good. access to I-5 is excellent.master suite is enormous. owner is accomodating.our family group of 16 had great time.

We had a wonderful extended family vacation in this beautiful home. Our party consisted of 10 adults and 8 children. Perhaps the best feature of this home is the multiple living areas inside and outside. The kids and some adults can enjoy a swim while others watch a Padre game on the big-screen TV, while still others can enjoy a quiet place to read. Cyndi has done a great job creating a home that is both welcoming and beautifully decorated. She was very quick to respond to e-mails and phone calls too. The location of the home is ideal. Many of us took the easy walk to the beach and even to Carlsbad village. We had a very blessed time!

Our entire family (8 adults and 9 children) traveled from Arizona to stay here. It was a wonderful family vacation and the location and house MADE our trip – not to mention the perfect sunny 73 degree weather. The pool and hot tub along with the grassy yard were a highlight for all of us especially the younger children. The location to the beach is very easy walk or bike ride enjoyed by both the older children and adults. The house is amazing with plenty of space and is gorgeous home; it truly looks exactly like the pictures posted on the web-site! We would highly recommend staying here to any family. You'll love it and being hosted by Cyndi is delightful.

A fantastic house for any occasion. We stayed 4 nights, and enjoyed the close location to the beach. The pool and spa make it hard to leave the place. When you do want to go to San Diego, or up and down the coast, this house is in a great location to get around SoCal. I'll be staying there again anytime we are going to vaca in the Carlsbad area.

This was a beautiful, commodious house in a a convenient location close to the beach and Carlsbad Village. The home is beautifully decorated, has a lovely back yard with well-designed spa and pool. The owner has added numerous touches to make a stay pleasant, e.g. discount cards for the local grocery and maps of the area.

This rental was the perfect atmosphere for a Ladies' Retreat weekend! It is a beautifully decorated home with all the amenities you could need, and then some. We loved being close to the beach, and the jacuzzi was definitely put to use. My favorite sound was the train whistle going by from time-to-time. It was nostalgic of my childhood. Cyndi is a great lady to work with and was quickly available to respond and meet all our needs!

This is a beautiful home! Tons of space, great amenities, it fit my needs perfectly! I used this home to host a small bridal shower and I was amazed at how well the kitchen was stocked...it even had a kitchen aid mixer! Cyndi is great. We rented this beautiful home for our immediate family (18 of us--10 of whom are children from one month to 11 years old) for our family reunion. They came from Utah, Colorado and California. The home was perfect for our family. Being together in one place was wonderful. Everyone enjoyed the entire home, pool, spa,and yard. One of our grand-daughters (age 3 1/2, from Colorado) thought the wine cave was a pirate cave and loved it! Cyndi was amazing to work with, and helped to make our stay, all that we had hoped for and much much more. We definitely recommend this home and working with Cyndi. We would love to return someday and make even more memories.

Our family had such a nice time here. We rented the home from Cyndi for 7 nights. We had family fly in from New Jersey to meet up with us and we all had such a nice time. We were in the hot tub every night! Not only is Carlsbad a great town, it's not far from San Diego. We saw a lot of the surrounding area and all of the beaches are really beautiful. Plus, the weather is fantastic! Hopefully we can visit again someday soon!

We recently celebrated a birthday and family reunion here and the entire family fell in love with the house and the location. Cindy was accessable and accomodating from the moment we first inquired. I just returned home from a 3-day stay with members of my family in this fabulous guest home. We walked to the beach daily, used the bike/rollerblade trail just down the street and shopped Carlsbad Blvd. We were also able to use the hot tub and one day one of the kids swam in the pool! (that 80 degree day 14Jan!) He said it was fine though the rest of us weren't brave enough! I was thrilled the the cleanliness and enjoyed meeting Cyndi, the owner. I would, without reservation, recommend this fine accomodation to my friends and family and co-workers. What a find!

We stayed here over New Years eve... 4 families - 8 adults and 9 children (7 of them under the age of 4).It was great, the house was spacious, clean and had all the necessary amenities. It is conviently located near everything, the beach, shopping and legoland! Cyndi was so accomodating and easy to work with. We would all go back in a second. We didn't get to take advantage of the great pool and hot tub but this house is great for cold weather or warm.
