Hike by day with the lizards in Joshua Tree National Park and hang by night with the lounge lizards in Joshua Tree's local cafes and art galleries. Or stay in, light a fire and snuggle in the king-sized bed and watch the desert world go by; jack rabbits, quail, bobcats, and visiting coyote will all make their way past large picture windows. Three patios offer spectacular 270 degree views of the sunrise, the sunset, and of course, the sweeping night stars.
Worlds away from crowds and traffic this lovely house is set in the hushed wilderness of Joshua Tree Highlands on 2.5 acres, and is a quick 2 miles to Joshua Tree National Park.
This sweet retreat offers two master bedrooms; living room; an open floor-plan, fully equipped + renovated kitchen and full bathroom with a spacious bathtub/shower. All boast new, fully renovated modern fixtures and appliances. If you don't feel like cooking, you're a short drive from several good restaurants and a great cup of coffee in the town of Joshua Tree.

The Secluded Adobe House . . . what a dream of artistry and cleaver thought and planning. Shades of dove grey, sage, and wheat sooth the eye . . . splashes of Burnt umber, and ochre to awaken the senses and visual art everywhere. Outside, jeepers and peepers everywhere, with soft shy bunnies, and quick darting chipmunks. Such activity and song everywhere makes mere reading seem like a pale, too quiet pastime. Yes indeed we surely enjoyed our stay. My water color paintings turned out fantastic! Thank you very much. This house is truly immaculate and boasts an impressive set of amenities. The location is perfect - right off the Joshua Tree National Park but secluded enough for a private getaway with miles of desert land and breathtaking 360 degree views. The house is not quite as isolated as some of the pictures suggest, with a few other homes within proximity, but definitely far enough away in the distance that you barely even notice. The house has been kept in excellent condition and features all modern appliances, multiple patio seating to accommodate guests on all three sides of the property, as well as a large dining room table on the front porch (great for hosting a party or an intimate dinner) with amazing views, and a beautiful outdoor white tub with running water (hot or cold). Great for star gazing! The interior is just as impressive with a wonderfully and conveniently stocked kitchen (glasses, utensils, spices, and similar basics), simple but modern furniture, and stereo system with iPod/auxiliary hookup. The bedrooms are a comfortable size (sleeps 4 total but with enough room to bring an air mattress if needed) and feature some of the most comfortable mattresses I've ever stayed at in a vacation rental. Bathroom also has a large modern shower and sink - perfect amount of space for the location. House also includes a swamp cooler which provides a more than adequate cooling system during the summer months. Beautiful views of desert land through the large bay windows are inspiring in the day or night and cozy fireplace make it even more comfortable. This has got to be one of best vacation homes in the area by comparison. I highly recommend pre-planning with food and drink (we brought a cooler stocked with food and snacks) or picking up something on the way. There are some restaurants and stores within a few miles if you'd rather venture out but getting to the house itself is a bit off the beaten path and you may not want to make multiple trips back out once you arrive. The surrounding area is hike friendly if you’re feeling adventurous and looking for something to do locally. Cell phone service is limited so please be aware you may only receive spotty reception (though you’ll quickly discover you won’t need it here). All in all, this place is extraordinary and provides the perfect locale for a secluded vacation spot in the desert. With such friendly and informative property owners, you can’t ask for more. We will definitely be coming back again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

This place delivered the goods. The property is a beautiful, private, stocked, comfortable and creative space. There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this rental. The two beds are very comfortable, too. I had the best sleep I have ever had away from home. It's close to town but feels very far away. It's close to the National Park. It's far enough away from town to have dramatic starry skies complete with shooting stars. We're definitely coming back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: thanks for the great review guys - come stay again. Jeff and Jennifer

Stayed for a long weekend at the house, had an amazing time. Kitchen is very well stocked (down to olive oil, pepper grinders, and martini glasses!) and grilled steaks and lobster were the order of the weekend. Watching the sun set and the stars come out from the huge outdoor tub, preferably with a glass of wine, is highly recommended. Beautiful views, wonderful stars, comfortable beds, great amenities. House is not as isolated as shown in the pictures, a relief to our group. Comfortably slept two couples and an unexpected addition (on our own air mattress). Joshua Tree National Park was entrancing, and the Joshua Tree Saloon burgers are not to be missed...or their happy hour, with fourteen beers on tap. Owners very helpful, easily reached. We'll be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
