Nice Condo

The condo is a very nice place to stay. We found it to be clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well equiped. The views from the balcony are awesome. We watched the dolphins amost every morning. The pool is great, especially if you have young children. The shallow end is perfect for our 3 year old granddaughter. Then there is the beach. WOW!!! The sand is so white and beautiful. We rented chairs and enjoyed all but one day when it rained. That day we went to Fairhope. Fairhope is a great place to go and shop and eat. Romar place is very convenient to shopping and eating places. Thank you for a very nice place to stay.

Recommended for:Romantic getaway, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

I own a production company and have filmed numerous condos in the region, including this one. Compared to other condos I've filmed, this unit is as close to a 10 as one could expect. Most owners do not focus on details like flat screen TV's, updated kitchens and furniture just to mention a few.The owner has an eye for keeping up with the latest styles. Some of the condos I have filmed remind me of Motel from 1977. I would recommend this unit to anyone visiting the Alabama Gulf Coast! I certainly enjoyed my working vacation in this unit!

A great way to spend time away. Great sugar sand beach, beautiful clear water nice grocery stores, and entertainment facilities. Owner response to a small situation was instant and thorough. I'll be back!

Owner response:Thank you for the positive review. I was very glad you called about the water issue. That little water drip could have been a disaster. The water line to the ice maker in the unit above was leaking, thankfully it was repaired before it burst and leaked all over 406 and every unit below. For those wondering how I handle complaints, the following statement is in your rental agreement. In case of emergency call me or e-mail me . If the unit is not clean or there are other issues, call me immediately and I will get the cleaners back, or get repair people notified. If you wait until you get home to e-mail me, complaints will fall on deaf ears.

Romar Place

My wife and I drove 21 hours to get to Romar Place from Minnesota and I'd drive double that to stay there again simply for the view alone. Right on the Gulf! It doesn't get better than that. We were there in January 2011 so we didn't get to enjoy the pool but we walked on the beach on a beautiful 60 degree day. There were so many good points about staying at Romar but the best had to be that it was right on the beach. Not to mention the sunset views from the patio. STELLAR! It was one of the most relaxing places I've ever stayed at. We also liked the fact that everything was within a mile or two. Nice restaurants/bars (The Pink Pony. I reccomend the AYCE catfish) for a few cocktails, then back to the condo to just unwind. 5 stars to the owner. The condo was very well kept and it made it easy to relax. Felt like home.....only a little better ;) Thanks for having such a GREAT place and we look forward to staying there again...and again....and again.

The pictures were taken a long time ago. Beds were in need of replacing in the bedroom with the 2 dbl beds. The shower curtain and stopper were very moldy. The main problem was that the king size bed had sheets with urine stains on them and when we washed them they came clean. My family had actually slept on them for 3 nights before we opened the drapes and saw that it was on the sheets. Called the owner and nothing was done about it. I would not stay in this condo. There is one on the 2nd floor that is really nice and clean so I will use it next time. This condo has a lot of issues like the door handles loose, piece of baseboard laying in floor, no stoppers for all of the tubs, dirty kitchen tools in the drawers, can opener in drawer rusty and electric one not working, light bulbs out and plastic chairs on balcony dirty and split. Generally not taken care of and obviously the owner has not been there to oversee. Do yourself a favor and find another place even if it cost a little more.

Owner response:The pictures were taken by me in the spring in 2010, the video was taken by DPI production company, at great expense, in January of 2010 . The furniture is the same as of this date. The renter may be confused because the bed covers are different in the pictures, I replace the bedding often. I find it strange that this renter didn't open the drapes in the master bedroom for 3 days. These windows are the best views of the beach and Gulf, in the condo. I use a commercial cleaning service that cleans linens at much higher temperature then home washers. I did receive a call from this renter about a spot on a sheet. I called the cleaning service and they went immediately to change the sheets, but could not get in as no one was present. I respect the privacy of renters and will not enter unless they are there, a later attempt was made and no one answered the door. It is possible there was a mold spot on the shower curtain but the cleaning service changes the liner twice a month. Just as an aside, My family and I stay in Romar Place 406, in the off season, and have made many personal touches, and feel at home wile there. The renter says, "generally not taken care of". I love my condo, I have replaced the white particle board kitchen and bath cabinets with modern, expensive wood custom cabinetry, appliances are new stainless steel, floors are 20 inch tile, bedroom TVs are wall mounted flat screen and main room is 50 inch HD flat screen. She says there are no tub stoppers. There is a lever under the faucet in each of the three tubs the open and closes the drain. What I find most interesting is VRBO will allow lies, personal attacks, and prevarications to be posted on the site that I pay for to advertise my property. Once a negative is planted no mater how many good comments there are, the unsubstantiated, negative, complete distortions will remain.
