What a wonderful home that is just across the street from one of best beaches in the world. We had a family of six and there was everything we needed. From ping pong tables to surfboards the home has all the amenities. The pictures do not do the home justice. We had a wonderful visit and give this home our top recommendation.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The location of this house could not be better. I know, after hours of research, how much the other houses go for on this street (some 2-3X more)! We felt right at home instantly and everything we needed was in the house and in perfect condition (kitchen had everything we needed for family meals, great bedding, towels, etc). The street (road?) the house is on is a VERY A-list location. We spotted many celebrities on the beach, the little grocery market and at the various restaurants. Everything was very nonchalant and relaxed however. The beach from the George Clooney movie, The Descendants is LITERALLY right across the road (about a 30 second walk). It is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world but surprisingly not that crowded. PLENTY of room to spread out and relax, swim and surf (a first for our family). We are already planning next year's trip and are planning on renting this same house. We loved it!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Thank you Nikki you saved us. we were in a rental that did not meet it's billing and needed a place for 3 days, you had an opening and moved quickly to accomodate us, thank you. Your house is awsome, Hanalei pier and one of Hawaii's best beaches were just steps away. We especially loved the privacy of the master bedroom with steam shower that is seperated from the house by a deck. During the day the beach park close by gets a bit of traffic but by evening all is peaceful. The mobile food truck at the pier has some of the best tacos. We will return. While the house and the grounds are lovely, the property sits next to a public beach, public parking lot, and kayak rental shop. There is a lot of traffic going in and out of these areas from early in the morning until well into the night (especially on weekends) and the gravel road adds to the noise. It was definitely not quiet nor peaceful at this house. That said, Hanalei is a great little town and Kauai is beautiful. There is much to do away from house, so if you are going to spend minimal time at the house or are not bothered by noise, this is would be a great place to stay.Owner response: Awww so disappointing to see our first negative review in almost seven years of welcoming as many as 40 families per year into our award-winning home. This woman stayed at NamiNori House the last week of June, 2012--which is definitely the busiest time of year in Hanalei. School had just gotten out and we were heading into the holiday weekend. During that week, the empty lot between our home and the Hanalei River was being used illegally as a public Farmer's Market! Our community rallied and the county shut it down. There was definitely more traffic than we ever had there. It was truly unfortunate timing for these guests. I'm pleased to say that our road is back to it's normal, country self... Our location has always been one of the biggest selling points of the house. We have a double hedge, 15 feet high and a gorgeous, lush interior, compound-like yard that is simultaneously private and next to the best Hanalei Bay has to offer. We are steps to Hanalei Bay, Pier and River. As such, we are at one of the most popular spots on the island. Our guests have always considered this a huge plus. Weekends and holidays will get more passers-by. "Busy" for Hanalei is still quiet by most people's standards. I sincerely hope we can welcome this guest again someday.

I stayed at this home with my husband and 2 other couples. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We were very close to restaurants if we wanted it or we would just grill food and eat in the yard. The view is nice and literally a minutes walk to the bay. I would definitely recommend it to others and would stay again if in Hanalei.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

House is lovely and very close to the pier on Hanalei Bay. There was everything we needed, including surf boards, beach umbrellas, bikes, etc! Given the location, there is a fair bit of noise (especially early morning) with a decent amount of traffic in and out of the public parking lot. Weekends were especially busy.Recommended for: Families with teenagers.

Kauai, Hanalei, NamiNori--perfect getaway. We've spent 12 summer vacations in Kauai. Last two at NamiNori. It's beautifully equipped, and the perfect location for morning beach walks, north shore snorkeling and all the quirky stuff that comes with Hanalei. We're doing it again this summer.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

NamiNori is the sixth house we've rented via VRBO & HomeAway, and we have yet to be disappointed. The location is the greatest asset of this house. We thoroughly enjoyed being so close to Hanalei's pier and Black Pot Beach. We spent each morning at the pier photographing the sunrise, and each evening at the pier photographing the sunsets. We really loved the pier and park, as you can tell. The house is very private and very comfortable. The tall hedge fence and lush gardens provide a peaceful sanctuary. We enjoyed having a separate master suite and loved the lanai area. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, pots and pans, however we would love to see the owners stock the basics like salt & pepper, oil, sugar, etc. that other rentals have provided. We literally had to buy every little thing to be able to use the kitchen properly, and at Hanalei prices that can get expensive very quickly. Air conditioning in the master suite is listed as a selling point in all of the listings we found for this house, however the air conditioner was broken and could not be repaired while we were there. Was it a vacation killer? No - the trade winds are very pleasant and keep the house cool, and the daily light rainstorms helped, too. We loved the gardens, and it's obvious the owners take great pride in them. We enjoyed fresh limes right off the tree, and saw green bananas that will make a future renter very happy. We even had a family of chickens in residence while we were there. The house does provide unsecured wireless access for the internet, and a printer was available in the living room, although there was no paper for it. Overall, we found the house very clean, very comfortable, and very pleasant. The location is unbeatable. Weke Road is a beautiful, quiet street and Hanalei shopping and restaurants are an easy walk or bike ride away. The owner is very friendly and accomodating, and returns phone calls for assistance very quickly. We spent 8 days checking out all the beaches & towns on the island, but Hanalei Bay was by far our favorite. We loved the laid back vibe of NamiNori House, Hanalei town and it's people. It was the perfect place for us, and choosing the right house and location made our vacation even better than we imagined. We would definitely recommend NamiNori and Hanalei Bay to other renters. I cannot imagine anyone being disappointed with this little corner of paradise. It was heaven for us. Mahalo, Nikki.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at the NamiNori house in October 2009 and had a wonderful time! We traveld to Kauai to elope, and stayed for two weeks. The location of the house was perfect! We could walk to the beach and ride the house bikes to town and the farmer's market. Although the house had 2 surf boards, we rented stand up boards from the very local surf company for the week and enjoyed paddeling the river and catching a few waves in the bay. I travel alot for work and the bed in the master suite was the most conformtable bed I have slept in! We can not wait to come back to celebrate our 1st Anniverey and will look to stay at the NamiNori House again but will bring some friends along this time! Thanks Nikki!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

It has been over a month since our stay at the NamiNori House and all I can say is that we miss it so much! Our stay was just perfect. From the start, it was a pleasure to correspond with Nikki and upon arrival we were beyond happy with what we saw. I agree with one of the previous reviews...the photos really don't do the property justice. The NamiNori House has everything you could need for a tropical stay and more: well appointed home (simple, clean, tastefully decorated), hammock, beach amenities, outdoor shower, beautiful lanai, games/toys which made the stay for our 5 year old a blast...the list goes on and on! And the beach cruisers made getting to and from Hanalei town a fun excursion. The super close proximity to the amazing beach was also great! I look forward to coming back and would recommend the NamiNori property without hesitation. It would be a perfect set up with the master suite for family vacations too. What a find! Thank you Nikki for a wonderful stay! Pauline, Jennie, Kate & Meredith - San Francisco, CA / OahuDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
