Our Retreat home is the place for relaxation, rejuvenation and renewal. This turn-of-the-century, historic home, lovingly restored and beautifully decorated, has all the amenities (and more) of your own home.
The Retreat sleeps up to eight and has three bedrooms and two full baths. Upstairs is a master bedroom with a king-sized bed and full bath, plus two other bedrooms, each with a queen-sized bed. The main floor has another full bath and a sofa sleeper in the living room.
You'll have everything you need to cook with in the bright, airy kitchen. Enjoy a DVD or cable television on the large, flat-screen TV in the living room, or catch up on your reading in the warm and cozy den. There's plenty of room for everyone in this spacious home.
The Retreat is one block from Len's, a full-service grocery store with a meat counter featuring Boar's Head deli meats, homemade salads, soups and other items for a spur-of-the-moment picnic or late-night snack. A half-block away is our favorite ice-cream store, Nelson's, with the largest ice-cream cones you've ever seen (a child-sized portion is more than enough; be daring and try the Lumberjack--if you finish it, they'll take your picture and post it in the store).
Within walking distance is the historic business district of Stillwater, the birthplace of Minnesota. Watch the eagles soar along the St. Croix, a designated Wild and Scenic River. Step back in time as you shop for antiques and unique gifts on Main Street. Hungry? Choose from an array of restaurants and pubs: Mad Cappers for hamburgers, sandwiches and soups; Savories Bistro for homemade desserts and a fabulous weekend brunch; the Dock Cafe or Marx Wine Bar for upscale dining.
Whether you come to Stillwater to shop, dine out or live the small-town life for a while, the quiet, restful elegance of our Retreat home will be the most memorable part of your visit.
