We had a perfect weekend at the Cottage at Morningside. The property was beautiful and private, the cottage was comforting and detailed, and the owners were beyond friendly. We have nothing but good things to say about our stay and have already shared this gem with friends and family that plan on visiting Shenandoah Park. We will never forget our stay and hope to be back again soon. PERFECT, THANK YOU!

Absolutely lovely cottage in the most magnificent setting

We had the pleasure of staying at the Cottage at Morningside. It's a simply lovely cottage - impeccably decorated and appointed and very, very comfortable. And the property is just amazing with the Blue Ridge mountains and Old Rag rising up over acres of fields and farm land. You couldn't ask for a more perfect place to spend your time. And the owners went above and beyond - with water, wine, amazing truffles, delicious candied orange and lemon rinds, coffee, cream and bagels for breakfast! We can't wait to return!

Comment by Guest Thank you for such a wonderful stay at Old Rag Cottage. It truly is a magical place and we very much appreciated all the extras such as the wine, chese, fruit and of course the most delicious chocolate brownies! Our every need was catered for and we all feel that we have had a most relaxing weekend from the concrete jungle of Virginia Beach. We hiked around Old Rag - yes all the way to the very top and enjoyed a hike along Cedar Run to the pools. Our evenings on the verandah with a glass of wind and spectacular view, unforgetable. We shall return!!

Comment by Guest Just a note to thank you for a great time at your cottage. The place we left yours to go to was a dump. I have sent you a little thank you gift, so let me know if it doesn't arrive by the end of next week. Your hospitality and the beauty of your cottage was such a thrill. We come every year to your area from about June 19 to July 12, so you will be hearing from us again. Thanks again. We enjoyed it more than you know. We are always exhausted at that time of year, and just want to sit and read and had the extra benefit of the animals around your place. We also had the extra benefit of your graciousness and leaned how the fields get cut and baled. That was interesting to us as well. Stay well and enjoy your beauty!

Comment by Guest. Thank you for the use of your lovely cottage. Everything was very comfortable and quiet, and the quality of furnishings and thoughtful extra touches (chocolate!) made for a very enjoyable stay. I enjoyed the views tremendously. Saw deer playing in the field last evening. The snow was pretty but made hiking difficult, so I guess I will have to return.

Comment provided by guest. We are truly thankful for your sharing your beautiful cottage with us this weekend. We couldn't have imagined anything more perfect. You went far and beyond our expectations. You have created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that was felt as soon as we walked in the door. As we explored the cottage more, we found one wonderful surprise after another. You thought of absolutely everything. We agreed that these accomodations were superior to any five-star hotel we had ever stayed in. And the views are spectacular! You have set the stage for a most romantic holiday weekend and for that we are thankful. We are already planning our return trip! Warm wishes this holiday season and we hope to see you again in the spring.
