I spent quite a bit of time on the VRBO site for Savannah looking for a nice home to stay in and am very, very glad we stayed here. It is an exquisite property: Spacious, elegantly decorated and yet relaxing at the same time. All our family members met in Savannah for a get-together, and were absolutely delighted with the accommodations and location. Although we had high expectations because of what we saw on the website, this home far exceeded them. We would recommend this beautiful home to anyone who is visiting Savannah. In fact, as lovely as Savannah is, I'd be willing to come back as much to stay in this home as to visit the city. The rental process was extremely easy and Luxury Living is very accommodating and pleasant.

I wanted to write and tell you what an amazing time we had at Wedding Cake House. My whole crew of 14 is seasoned travelers who have stayed at some of the finest hotels in the world and they can be tough customers. Imagine my delight when they arrived in Savannah were completely thrilled about the accommodations. It is rare to have such individual privacy and room to be together all in one place. The house was absolutely lovely. The beds were all comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. We spent an amazing amount of time on the porches and in the kitchen. Everyone loved the house so much that our last night there we opted to just stay in and enjoy the house and being together. The home is in a wonderful location, just perfect for short walks! Luxury Living provides great information for anything you need either through phone, email. We would love to come back again and when we do - we will definitely stay here again!

The house was wonderful we couldn't have asked for more! We loved everything about our stay!! Though recently remodeled and refurbished, the owners maintained the charm and history of the house. The house was very clean and well-maintained. It was what our family really appreciated most. We would recommend this property to friends and relatives and thank the owners for their kindnesses to us.

The thing I will remember the most about my stay is the fact that after renting for over $3000, I had to pay $5 a day for internet service. While this was stated and not a complete surprise, it is one of several "little" things that would have made my stay excellent rather than average. The fact that a shower head was missing was also a disapointment. When I called (on a weekend) I received a very poilite response and apology from a rep (Carol, I think) who explained that the item was back-ordered. Why not replace the item with a $20 Home Depot temporary till the gold plated custon made item is available? Once again, the needs and wants of the guest come second to the owner's way of doing business. Next, when I emailed a question, it was never answered. I called and got a barely understandable answer (I only speak English) that seemed to say, well "I don't care--that is your problem" The place is very dark because of the location but there were several missing or burnt out bulbs. A couple spares were in a cabinet but they didn't burn out on my watch and should have been right when I walked in. Again, a distant owner who is unaware of reality. I say that because when I asked a question, I was told that the owner would have to be contacted to answer a simple request. Tells me the management is incapable of making a simple decision and again that the guest is out of luck. The house was is very good condition and only one major appliance was not working. I reported that and it was a surprise so obviously these things aren't checked. A TV remote had no batteries--obvious since the back was missing and the TV is on a wall 8 feet up so unusable. A kitchen described as such a great one should have a good set of knives. The building was comfortable and in good repair. It rained and I wanted to mop the porch so no one would fall but never found any kind of mop. Could have used some towels but was afraid I'd scratch the floor. Hey, if it was an easy job, anyone could do it. Hopes this helps make the experience better for the next guest. So many good things
Owner response:This review comes as such a shock. We went the extra mile for this guest. We arranged for them to preview the property 3 different times. They inspected every inch of the mansion prior to booking the property. We also gave them a very nice discount on their reservation. We allowed them free early check in. Every appliance on the property was operating. Burnt out light bulbs and dead batteries are a fact of life! We would have graciously replaced them had we known about them prior to reading this review. The shower head that was being replaced was one of two shower heads in the shower so the ability to take a shower was not hindered. We did apologize to the guest that due to the back order of the custom fixture they would only have one shower head. This home is the result of an award winning restoration. It is one of the most photographed and coveted homes in Savannah in a premiere sunny location on famous Monterey Square. We have had nothing but rave reviews from all of our guests. Unfortunately some guests look for issues in order to get money refunded.

We know why this house was on Savannah’s home tour. Spectacular.... we rented Wedding Cake Collection for an annual company meeting. It was the perfect place for our guest to enjoy their stay as well as conduct our daily business meetings. It's obvious that this restoration was a labor of love. It is the perfect mix of modern conveniences set alongside historical architecture. The attention to historical detail while fully modernizing the home is amazing. All of the rooms are beautifully decorated and each bedroom has its own bath. Everything in the home was perfect....and so comfortable. The location is perfect for walking downtown, to restaurants or just exploring. All of us were so favorably impressed. Thank you for sharing your magnificent home with us.

A gem in the heart of Savannah! We couldn't have stayed in a nicer place. We enjoyed the spacious rooms, and the master bedroom and bath are fabulous! Our experience in this exquisite house will never be forgotten. The kitchen was fully prepared for anyone doing gourmet cooking. The dining room ready for formal entertaining. The living room arranged for cozy conversation. The bedroom's and bed's ready for quiet repose. We would highly recommend this property. Great stay! Great people with whom to do business.

We had just a wonderful time on our vacation. There were 17 of us and the home accommodated us perfectly. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen could not have been equipped any better. Whatever you needed was there. A great time was had by all and we hope to have the opportunity to spend our vacation here again. The owner was great to work with and provided us with great information about Savannah.

Our visit to Savannah was fabulous. We enjoyed fantastic dining, great shopping, wonderful sights, but the part that made all these come to life was the convenient accommodations we had at our home on Taylor Street. Luxury Living is truly what we experienced. The attention to details within the home made our stay both comfortable and memorable. This is definitely a home I want to return and enjoy again.

We rented this house recently over Memorial Day Weekend for my son's graduation. We had a wonderful experience here at the house. Lots of space for my whole family (ten people!), clean and beautiful with many bedrooms and luxurious bathrooms to accommodate everyone. The area is very safe and within walking distance to the Museums and many restaurants and bars. I was worried about parking as there is no available off street parking (garage parking just for one car), but we brought five cars with us, and believe it or not, we all found spots on the street within a block. Thank you for a great weekend!!

This place is breathtaking. There is no doubt we will be back. What a great investment. Thanks again!

We were very happy with our recent Savannah's vacation, staying at Wedding Cake House. The ease of using the VRBO on line information and reservation process was a pleasant surprise as we had never rented that way before. The written information supplied by the owner, on access, amenities, what to do, where to shop, best restaurants, etc., was very helpful and right on target. It was truly a trouble-free rental process. Really nice 4 story house. Everything was in working order. Quality mattresses in beds. Plenty of pots, pans, toaster, plates... for cooking. Extremely clean and comfortable.Thank you for the wonderful stay!

What a beautiful Mansion! The location cannot be beat both for access to historical sites and to restaurants and bars. we had a great time and will return when we get a chance. The house is a great place to stay and very convenient for touring and eating opportunities. For those who like to cook, the kitchen is well appointed with top of the line appliances and great cookware. The beds were very comfortable as well. Don't miss the opportunity to stay in the heart of historic Savannah. We took some business cards to share with our friends and co-workers and will highly recommend that they book with you when they go to Savannah.

Tammy Jo -What will we remember the most about our 3 magical days in this fabulous city? The smell of the flowers? The serenity of the squares? The mansion’s plush beds that enveloped us in comfort each night? Our constant and easy laughter as we celebrated our friend Patti’s 50th birthday in proper Savannah style? What a home…what a city…what a cherished memory for 10 loving ladies. Thank you so much.

We stayed here for four days and it was the most enjoyable stay that we have ever had in Savannah. The location was one of the best, the view was fantastic and the house was beautiful. From the pictures on the website I had expected it to be nice, but once we arrived we all agreed that they did not do it justice. Why would we stay anywhere else in the future. It was GREAT!

We rented both the Wedding Cake Mansion and the Forsyth Park House for a family reunion. Renting an historic mansion is a wonderful way to experience Savannah. The property had everything we needed and more. Gourmet kitchens and luscious bathrooms. The location is great and the property was fantastic!

This is a great house!! We had our family vacation here in July. We found the house online and were a little worried about what we might be getting into. We could not have been happier. There were 10 of us (including 4 kids) and the house had plenty of room (we rented the main house). There was plenty of things to see in Savannah. This was one of our best vacations ever and the house had a lot to do with it.

This location is idyllic. A beautiful house, in a great location, in a beautiful city. There is plenty to do or it is the perfect place to do nothing. Have fun with friends, reconnect with family, relax on your own or spend romantic evenings with that special someone. It is such a wonderful experience that you will come back again and again.
