Came to CA from MN in the late 60s to teach school in Huntington Bch. Skied in BB and fell and love with it. I designed and built the beautiful home. I am a hands on person so will find many wonderful aspects about the property. It took about 15 years from design to finish. I no longer teach, but work with my investments and spend time with my family and travel to all corners of the planet.

It's that time again...hunting for a cabin in Big Bear for New years! We stayed here last year. Although the location is VERY covenient to the slopes, no one told us that the owner actually stays within the living quarters during our stay. This was a bit uncomfortable just for lack of privacy. He did come to the door twice and one of the times rang the doorbell which woke my friends 5 month old twins from their nap. In addition we brought our own tv and portable satellite dish for all the bowl games to which the owner unplugged! Our poor husbands had to try to find the correct signal for the satellite dish again. So in this regard, we didn't care too much for our visit. The house has plenty of rooms and living space. If the owner wasn't there we would probably go back.
Owner response:There is a managers attached quarters. This is copletely seperate with it own entance. On occation it may be occupied. During the holidays when the help seems to disappear and when there is a report for a snow storm. like to have someone there to get people in and out. I often ring door bells and knock to suggest to move cars so they don't get towed or snowed in. There may be cases when there are objects and cords (TV satellite antena) in walk ways and stairs. Yes, I moved the dish not unpluged it. I thought it was in a very dangerous place Safey first!
