Former B & B in historic Carolina Heights neighborhood available nightly, weekly, monthly or longer term.

Built in 1921. 15 blocks to riverfront, downtown shops and restaurants. 15 minute drive to Wrightsville Beach.

Every room is bathed in sunlight with huge windows, many facing the large garden in the backyard with its old gracious magnolia tree, and pathway leading down three steps to a lower formal garden with a pond, fountain, Camelia trees and Azaleas.

There are 3 fireplaces (one working) with large 1920's decorative mantels.

The chef’s kitchen has stainless steel countertops and three sinks. There is seating for 6 around the kitchen island for informal meals. The dining room seats 8-10 people comfortably for special dinners. Catering can be arranged if needed (must be requested in advance).

There are 5 bedrooms: 2 spacious rooms with king sized beds, 1 large room with queen-sized bed which has a new organic-pedic mattress, 1 huge room with 3 twin sized beds and 1 smaller room with a full sized bed. There is also an additional futon bed so that 2 more guests can be accommodated. A pack and play infant bed is also available for your use.

This is a luxurious and relaxing home. The bedrooms are large and private, with attached bathrooms. There are two staircases, making it ideal for more than one family to stay together and yet maintain privacy. It is perfect for wedding parties, graduations, family reunions, or relocations to the Wilmington area. It is also comfortable for smaller groups that just want some space to spread out. It is even ideal for a couple looking for a romantic home in Wilmington.

Children’s play equipment available including swing set and slide in backyard. Toys are available in the home to entertain the kids.

    My family gathered for our sons wedding the first week of October 2009. My husbands’ brother, three sisters with husbands and Uncle France and Aunt Beverly traveled from Georgia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Florida to celebrate. The house was a perfect match in location to downtown Wilmington, the River Fest Festival and Wrightsville Beach. The fenced in back yard was greatly appreciated by our Yorkie, Maggie. The house was large and very comfortable, especially for that number of people. As you can see there was plenty of room for singing and dancing. The house is a grand ol’ lady full of charm and grace.   • We had a great time at this house. Plenty of room for all of the kids and adults to space out. Will consider this house next year. Natalie responded to every email and was quick to respond. She takes customer service very seriously. Libbey was there to assist us when we arrived and quickly showed how to operate and run the house. She was very kind and welcoming. The kitchen has many appliances and plenty of needed dishes. The rooms were great and large with all leading to a bath room. Thanks to Natalie and Libbey for the great job and service they have provided. We enjoyed the back yard as much as the house. Thomas Lexington NC

  • We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home. My toddler and two dogs enjoyed playing in the shady backyard. The house was clean and very comfortable. We loved sitting in the kitchen drinking coffee and planning our day. The best part was how helpful Libby and Natalie were. We are looking forward to another trip back.

  • We had a wonderful experience staying at the "David House." We were a group of five old friends who had not seen each other for years. The house was so spacious and comfortable that we had a hard time getting out the door to explore Wilmington! Rather, we often lazed around the house hour after hour, lounging on the comfy couches in the sunny front living room, drinking coffee at the huge dining room table, or hanging out in the kitchen (a space that was large enough for the whole bunch of us to make meals together without bumping in to each other). Most of all, Natalie (the owner) was incredibly helpful from the get-go. I had lots of questions (having never been to Wilmington before) and she must have spent almost an hour on the phone with me when I first called to inquire about the property, answering in great detail all my questions about the house's proximity to restaurants, the beach, the weather in Wilmington in May, etc. Natalie knows that coordinating reunions can take a little effort (especially when people are coming from all over the country, as we were) and she was extraordinarily supportive, patient, and understanding in that regard. She (and Libby -- a local friend who helps manage the property) were as nice as could be. They sincerely wanted us to have a wonderful vacation --which we sincerely did!

Wilmington is beautiful and this house was the perfect location only minutes from everything. The house itself is becoming a little worn but it was really clean, the owners and hired hands were super nice, hospitable and easy going. Not to mention, the price was unbeatable!! We will definitely stay here again. Thanks so much for providing a great place for families to enjoy in Wilmington, NC!

  • We and several of our friends stayed at this house while we were in town for a Wilmington wedding. We were blown away when we walked in the door. The expansive, historic downstairs feels luxurious (that and the fact that there is a beautiful huge kitchen, which adjoins a laundry and fridge room, which adjoins a bar pantry, which adjoins a large dining room with seating for 10. The rooms are all very lovely and well maintained. The large back yard is another huge plus- it has a swing set for small children, a grill, a patio with furniture. We loved this place so much we convinced the owner to let us add on a day for just the two of us when our group left. It's within 30 mins of either Wrightsville beach or the southern (Kure and Carolina) beaches, and its a long pleasant stroll to the downtown waterfront. We can't say enough good things about the place- I am already plotting how to get back. But the best thing was really the attentiveness of Natalie, the house's owner, and of Libby, a nearby neighbor who checks you in and makes sure everything is in good operating order. We were there on a record -breaking hot day and she brought a big fan over for one of the upstairs bedrooms that gets a lot of sun during the day.

  • We spent Memorial weekend in "The David House" - and had a wonderful stay. The house is very cool, great staircase, spacious kitchen, great books and games, back yard BBQ and picnic tables. It perfectly accommodated 3 generations of our family, with 5 adults, 4 children and 2 dogs. There was something for everyone. We had privacy in the master suite, while our girls screamed with glee when they saw "their" room with pink curtains and 3 single beds. Natalie and Libby were lovely and very accommodating. We were just 1 mile from my brother's wedding, and 20 minutes from the beach. We will definitely come back.
