The Unique Benefits at this House
A very quiet and relaxing property with beautifully landscaped grounds with outdoor activities galore!
Two houses (units) on one property ideally located in the Hanalei Palms just a two minute walk to the beach
Owner's Map of Hanalei
Our first visit to Kauai was in 1983. My wife and I stayed in Hanalei and while it rained the entire 9 days, we realized there was only one place we'd rather live than Carmel, CA and that was Hanalei. We had an opportunity to buy property in 1989. We have enjoyed all these years and hope you fall in love with Hanalei, as we have and believe as we do, it is 'Heaven on Earth'.

We (5 adults and 1 toddler) stayed at the house for 9 days. The house is easy to find and it literary located 3 minutes from the beach and 7 minutes from "downtown" Hanelei. There are plenty of beach-ware stocked at the house (chairs, boogie boards, snorkels, etc) and anything else can be easily rented in town. There was also plenty of toddler-ware including strollers, high chair, and beds which make it very easy and convenient for us. The house layout worked very well for us. There was plenty of inside and outside space. The kitchen is large and accommodates many cooks. It has all the necessary pots and pans and knives and tools. In the beginning of our stay, we stopped at a grocery store and stocked up on food and snacks. We had couple questions during our stay and the owner was very responsive. Thank you!

Four of us stayed in the Aloha House this September. It is a very comfortable, well-equiped home with an excellent location, a 2 minute walk to Hanalei Bay and a 10 min walk to town. We especially appreciated the layout of the house - the bedrooms and bathrooms were private for 2 couples and the open living space and deck areas made it easy to convene as a group. Very clean, quiet and relaxing! Highly recommend.

Everything about it was right. A reasonable price, a clean and comfortable space, a stunning location, comfortable beds, strong shower, excellent kitchen, etc. Not to mention Hanalei Harry, the wonderful cat out in the yard. :) And by the way, the owners are a profound pleasure to deal with before, during and after the trip. Suffice to say: we will absolutely be back!

Mauka House is Charming and Very Comfortable - May/June 2011

We stayed at the Mauka House from 5/30/2011 - 6/6/2011. The house is easy to find, closer to the beach than we thought (it is very close), and is very comfortable. The house is immaculate and very charming! The house is very well appointed and we found everything we needed plus some. Either the rooms are tiled or have wood laminate floors except the bedrooms, which are carpeted. We were concerned with mold because the property is located in Hanalei which can be very wet. We did not encounter any mold or mustiness in the property. The house and landscaping are well maintained! Also the décor of the house is extremely nice and Kirsten has actual art in the house which makes it feel like home. Kirsten provides extras like books, DVDs, bikes, boogie boards, sand toys, etc. We loved the outdoor HOT shower – it was very nice after spending a day at the beach. Then there was Harry the Cat, he is so cute and spoiled. Unfortunately, we are highly allergic but he did not bother us other than wanting attention. My son was so in love with him but he is allergic too. I would highly recommend this property and working with Kirsten is a delight! Thank you Kirsten for providing us such a beautiful and comfortable place to stay during our stay in Kauai! -Kelly and Family

My husband, kids and I LOVED Hanalei Bay where I had visited with my parents years ago. SO thrilled to see that it remains a great, safe, clean beach with none of the crowds of many Hawaiian spots. The home was perfect.Very comfortable, spacious, clean, and well stocked with everything we could have needed. Only a quick walk to the beach, close to the lifeguard station, where they are vigilant about keeping the water safe. We would love to return to this place with family and friends next year. Thanks so much!

What a perfect location for a relaxing vacation...Having visited most of the islands, we absolutely fell in love with Hanalei, Kauai for the true Hawaiian charm and island lifestyle. Our experience at Aloha House was perfect in every way...First and foremost, the one minute walk to Hanalei Bay made this the ideal location and the home itself was charming, clean and true hawaiian-style. Our group included 2 families and the layout was very accommodating - the upstairs loft perfect for the teenagers! The kitchen was well-equiped with newer appliances and everything we needed. We enjoyed the large wrap-around deck with BBQ and beautiful tropical gardens surrounding us...(and the grapefruit tree provided the sweetest fruit, perfect for breakfast and afternoon grapefruit martinis). Also appreciated were the beach necessities - towels, boogie boards, paddle ball, cooler, bikes and toys galore...Finally, the safe and welcoming neighborhood made our visit so relaxing - we loved getting to know the neighbors - genuinely kind and wonderful people..(also loved Harry the cat). We hope to be back to this perfect piece of Hawaiian Paradise very soon. Mahalo!

Hop and a skip to the magical beach, this was a comfortable and gracious home away from home. Everything we needed - from kitchen equipment to quality bikes and boogie boards - was provided. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen/living room a center of activity - the deck and garden a bonus. The sleeping loft came in very handy when our son and daughter's visit overlapped. We stayed for two weeks and hope to do so again and again.

This was our first stay at Aloha House. We were there right after Thanksgiving 2010 for ten days. Aloha house is in the most perfect spot. We loved, loved, loved the house. We had rain the first few days and the waterfalls were so beautiful to wake up to. It was a very well equipped house and Kirsten was was very helpful. It was such a relaxing vacation. The neighborhood was very quiet. One of the neighbors gave us a bread fruit which we tried with dinner one night and the grapefruit from the yard was really good. The flowers in the yard were beautiful. We will definitely go back again.

We stayed at the Mauka house in late May 2010, and it was completely wonderful. The house is well-appointed, clean, and has everything you need for a wonderful stay in Hanalei. We walked to the beach and town with our three-year old daughter often. There are gorgeous views of the mountains and waterfalls from the back bedroom huge windows. The owner is very helpful and prompt in communicating. We loved Hanalei Bay for swimming (walking), and went often to Tunnels Beach (car drive) for snorkeling- saw monk seal, turtles, and tons of fish! It was the perfect place to stay for our family.

The Mauka house is the most perfect place to stay in Hanalei Bay. A block away from the beautiful beach and a five minute walk to the quaint town. No need for a car. The house is peaceful and spacious with good views of the mountains and waterfalls. It has everything you need. A well equipped kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and a relaxing living room and patio. A lovely house in a delightful town. What could be better that that.
