Gorgeous terraces and sunlight streaming through big windows make you feel utterly at home in Venice. This is a family apartment, a vibrant retreat to unwind and enjoy the sounds of life wafting in, as church bells chime in the background. Relax on the large terrace off the kitchen – you’ll hear voices calling, dishes clattering, and water lapping as the boats roll by in the nearby canals.
Our comfortably furnished apartment is on the top (4th) floor. Romantic and very homey, with beautiful unobstructed views. Peer out across the rooftops or step onto the quiet balcony at night to gaze at the stars, and you’ll feel what a special place this is. The newly renovated kitchen is outfitted with all the dishware and cooking utensils you’ll need. So shop at the local markets and have fun preparing a delightful meal you can eat on the terrace! Each room has a balcony or terrace adjoining.
People always tell us that our apartment is even better than they expected, and we get many people who return every year. Located just a short walk from the train station near Campo San Giacomo. Visit my website at the link below for more information.

The apt. is lovely & the description accurate. It's spacious, sunny, with excellent views out of all windows, a terrace off the kitchen that you can take meals on, in a great area, near a beautiful campo. It's also nicely furnished, including good books and internet connection. Owner helpful. The main drawback is that it's directly over an American-style bar, where young people talk loudly in the evenings into the week hours of the morning. The sound carries to the apt., specifically to the living room and the bedroom over the street, making it hard-to-impossible to sleep there. The second bedroom is reasonably quiet once the door has been closed. If you don't need two bedrooms, or if an EXTREMELY sound sleeper occupies the noisy one, and if you don't mind walking up a number of steps (it's on the top floor), it's an ideal apt. that I'd heartily recommend.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, age 55+.

I was fortunate enough to stay at this apartment for work during the opening of the 2011 art biennale. Axel was extremely accommodating with our last minute reservation. The apartment was clean, bright and wonderful. It was so nice to be woken up each morning by bells and sounds of the city getting their days started. The apartment is a quick walk to the vaporetto and a great place to retire in the evening after a long day of exploring Venice. The pizza place below is really great too! I've recommended the apartment to several of my art world colleagues and hope to return soon! Do not hesitate to book!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We have just returned from magical Venice, all the more magical this trip because we stayed in this beautiful apartment filled with light and wonderful art and with a stunning view over the rooftops to San Marco's campanile. We loved shopping in the Rialto markets, cooking in the chic, well-equipped kitchen and sitting on the terrace to watch the swallows and listen to the many bells ringing the hours. And we loved being part of a neighbourhood --joining everyone else on the Campo San Giacomo dell'Orio to sip a spritz or coffee and watch the world go by. This apartment is a splendid place to start out from and return to each day, and we are certainly planning another visit!Owner response: Many thanks to our new Canadian friends, Bruce and Wendy. For spring break 2008 we took our 2 kids to Ireland to see Grandma and then invited her to come along to Venice for a few days. Judith and Axel made our trip so enjoyable by offering us wonderful tips and guidance about Venice before we left (thanks so much for the great directions to the apartment, and suggestions to shops and restaurants in the area.) Once in Venice, we couldn't be happier with the apartment. It was very comfortable, spacious and well appointed. The apt was so close to everything. At first we relied on the Vaporetto to get around and get our bearings. After venturing around Venice a bit, we discovered that the apartment was close to everything; shops, restaurants, sights, etc. Pretty much everything was within walking distances and we started to really explore the city (enjoying getting lost and discovering new sights.) Thanks again Judith and Axel, we are already planning our next trip, we will let you know our plans and hope to stay at your place again. Talk to you soon. We had a fabulous Christmas holiday in Italy Dec, 2007. This flat is truly amazing, very cool and right in the center of everything. Judith and Axel were the most helpful hosts with everything from their accomodations to helping plan our week of touring. I asked every question you can think of (driving, customs, things to see, buy, eat etc) and they answered them all with glee!! I even called the day before our departure to inquire about the weather! Their apartment was quiet, yet we walked everywhere and were still close to "action" since our kids are young adults. We used their guidebooks and high speed internet everyday. It is very roomy, the four of us were quite comfortable and even found everything we needed for a great Christmas feast. In spite of it being very cold (Dec!)that week...we were cozy and loved our stay in Venice. It really is as neat as it looks in the pictures and the bathis awesome. A hotel is more expensive, you've no room to move around...and you won't meet great people like these in a hotel...so why would you stay anywhere else??!!. We not only have great memories of our Italian vacation but now we have found new friends as well. As you can tell I could go on and on...so feel free to contact me if you need more convincing. You will not be disappointed because this place is truly their home away from home and it will be yours too for how ever long you are blessed with a stay in Venice! Our family of 5, including 3 young adults, enjoyed every minute in this apartment. From the modern kitchen, to the quaint shutters, to the beautiful view, there is no doubt we will stay here again. We absolutely loved it here. It's in a quiet district but close to everything, and the nearby campo (San Giacomo) is charming. The apartment is spacious and clean and well-appointed, (even though we spent most of our time on the terraces). My family and I have been coming to Venice for many years, and of all the apartments we have stayed in, this is our favorite. It is gracious and has a modern kitchen, bathroom, and heating system--rare for Venice. The views from the terrace and balcony are lovely.
