This is an incredible home for a family vacation! The kids could play in the fenced back yard without too much supervision, and the beach was literally in the back yard! Our favorite place by far tho, was the deck overlooking the gorgeous ocean! From morning coffee to cocktails to late night chats-there was some group enjoying the view and breeze! Oh-and the sunrise!!! The owner and his local representative were attentive and quick to respond to our questions. All in all-A+++. We've already recommended this property to friends planning a 50th anniversary family vacation!

You can't find a better location on Kailua Beach, The house is great, not perfect but very comfortable and well stocked. We enjoyed our stay and will go back again as soon as we can. We had 11 people and the house worked perfectly for our needs and our family who live in Kailua came and hung out with us at the beach most of the time.

You cannot beat this location. It really is less than 100 feet to one of the world's most exclusive beaches. The house is amazing and has everything you could possibly need. We made use of the grill, blender, microwave, dishes, coffee maker, boogie boards, beach toys, beach towels, washer and dryer, dishwasher, internet access...definitely all the comforts of being at home, but in paradise. The house was clean and well maintained. Owner answered all questions in a timely manner. The Property Manager was hospitable and very helpful. My husband and I, our 2 small children and my mother in law, stayed Oct 1-12. We also had my brother-in-law stay with us for the first week. My father and step-mother were able to join us for the first week too. Even with all these people, we had plenty of beds left to accommodate more family. The floorplan of the house is awesome. Absolutely Perfect!

What a delightful property. Tastefully decorated and fully equipped. If you stay here, check the kitchen before you go to the grocery store. It is very well stocked with almost everything you could need except perishables! The location is sooooo awesome - right in the center of Kailua Beach! We went to sleep to the sound of waves breaking on the sand and had morning coffee on the deck every day. This was a getaway for my husband and I and we totally enjoyed the experience. Granted the house is big enough for large families but it is also intimate and cozy for just two people. The manager is outstanding too. We were unable to get the wifi to connect and Pat was there within 10 minutes and took care of it. He was also most helpful with suggestions for local restaurants. We plan to return in a couple of years and will definitely stay here again if it is available.

I rented this house for my family of 10 and it was a perfect setting for us. The best things I liked about this rental were the location of being right on the beach, the large back yard, and the convenience of home features that were available to us. The sandy beach, ocean waves and water, and nice grassy back yard were perfect for our four grandchildren, whose ages were 1.5 to 4, who loved to play in the sand and water. On the third day my 1.5 year old grandson was up early in the morning in the living room with his shorts. In his baby animated gestures, he wanted help putting on his shorts. After I did so, he climbed on the couch and pointed to where he wanted to go: outside to the beach. Needless to say, he loves the sand and water. We all enjoyed sitting out on the deck relaxing, sometimes watching the sunrise, and also in the evenings. The house was clean, nicely furnished with a Hawaiian motif, and had all the amenities we needed, which made us feel like we were visiting in a friend’s home. The one thing we did have to “fix” ourselves was making the house child-proof safe. Being from Hawaii, this was a great setting for our children and grandchildren to meet our extended families who live here. The property manager was very helpful in describing the features of the house on the first day. This was my first time experience renting through VRBO and the owner was very responsive to my concerns and questions. I highly recommend this rental to any family.

We had a wonderful 10 days at this property. We would go back and miss it already. What a great location and clean house. The pictures do not due it justice we were pleasantly surprised. The beach is awesome. We had kiter boarders with us that had a wonderful time with just a short walk down the beach. The deck is the best in Kailua. The kitchen was so well stocked and we all love to cook. The yard was a big bonus with the small children with us and even a climbing tree. The place has lots of boogie boards, beach and water toys. This place has it all and right on the beach. We had long walks up and down the beach from the house. The owner is easily assessible and answered immediately.

Being from Hawaii and living overseas, I've stayed in a number of different beach houses around the islands and this one is up there with the best. The back yard and beach were the focal point of the trip, as they should be with any stay in Hawaii, and this house has both of those in prime abundance. The inside of the house is just want you want in a family friendly vacation house - clean and tidy enough to be healthy and happy, but not so overly polished that you're afraid to get a grain of sand in the house... For a big family trip, this place is hard to beat. There's always a gamble with the weather on this side of the island, but it's only a 40 minute drive and you're on Waikiki beach if you need sun and sand, but can return to the quiet of Kailua to get away from the hustle and bustle. FYI - You will need a car to get from the house to other places around the island, but the walk to Kailua Town and the main shops and restaurants is only about 20 minutes. Highly recommended!

We travelled with my parents, sister, nieces, kids and others all in tow and everyone had a wonderful time here. It was hard to get anyone motivated to do anything but stay at the house/beach all day. We've been back for 1 day and we miss it already! Can't wait to come back. Thank you so much for giving us the chance to taste a little slice of Hawaiian paradise!

I grew up in Kailua, and now live in NYC. Aware of the location of this home on the best portion of already amazing Kailua Beach I rented it January 2011 for two weeks. I had modest expectations for the home based on pictures, but the price was something I could afford and it was big enough for my extended family. I was shocked when I arrived! The place was terrific. The owner had redone the kitchen, baths, etc in May and never got around to editing the website until a week or two before we arrived. The home was spotless and right on the beach. The yard was extremely well maintained and much bigger than it looked in the pictures. And the deck........... no better spot in all of Kailua. We had wonderful days sightseeing, swimming and boogie boarding and spent each night gathered around the large granite island sharing stories of the day. There were plenty of beach chairs boogie boards as well as a random collection of beach items and toys. The front yard also has a great "climbing tree" we used to take pictures of the kids for next years holiday card. There is an outdoor shower built from a surfboard. The trade wind breeze off the ocean (which never seems to stop) cools the house nicely making AC unnecessary and was the perfect antidote to 10 hours of stale airline air. We were never hot but appreciated the shade from the trees in the yard at mid day. The home is close enough to the beach that you can see the water from the large windows and everyone commented how nice it was to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. The bedrooms all had ceiling fans as well which we used. The bathrooms (which looked new) had marble showers with high quality fixtures with plenty of water pressure as well as a hand shower which was convenient for the little ones. The kitchen had everything needed even an unexpected large supply of spices, condiments and non perishable items. There is an outdoor gas grill on the north side of the house which got a good work out and the kitchen appliances worked great. When the large flat screen TV went out and Pat the manager quickly brought a replacement. Kailua town is small and relaxed, but had everything we needed close by. There are 4 or 5 grocery stores as well as many nice restaurants all within 5-10 min. Access to Honolulu and the rest of Oahu was easy and quick. We particularly enjoyed dinner at Lucy's and had Ninja Sushi and Korean BBQ (many places) for yum takeout! A true paradise in every way. Wish we lived closer!!

Spent a week here with friends thoroughly enjoyed the spacious accommodations and location. This house was perfect for our small group of 11 adults. I can definitely see families enjoying it too. The property couldn't have been at a better location--right on the beach! Everything that was described in the review was accurate. The only thing that should be checked out is the clothes dryer. The drying process was much longer than normal. The vent screen was cleaned before each load but I believe the exhaust pipe going up through the roof may need to be professionally cleaned (same thing happend to my neighbor recently). Loved the location on the beach and the quiet, beautiful town of Kailua. Mahalo

The house was clean and tastefully furnished; with all amenities one needs. Kailua town with many good restaurants and shops only a 20 minute stroll away. Try Lucy's Grill n Bar for great food. Obama did. Highly recommended for families and close-knit groups. We didn't want to leave.
