We stayed at Ramsgate over Easter Break 2011. It was absolutely wonderful as Bonnie has managed to insure everything you could possibly want or need is available in the condo. The condo was very clean. The kitchen (which had just been updated I believe) was fantastic with plenty of room and had everything a cook could need. The beds were comfortable and my kids loved the bunk beds with "ship" sconces on each level for reading. The deck was lovely and the only condo in Ramsgate with a great umbrella for shade. The pools were very nice and well maintained which is a nice option when the beach is too windy. It didn't hurt that the weather was perfect...but regardless...it was the best rental we have chosen in the Santa Rosa/Destin/Sea Grove area to which we travel each year.

We stayed at Ramsgate in April 2011 and LOVED it! This was our first family trip to Florida's panhandle. The location is amazing and the condo is perfect. The owners have thought of everything to make it a convenient and comfortable stay. Our daughters loved having their own room and so did we. The master has an outstanding view of the ocean/beach and the waves would put you fast to sleep. It was so fun to have a huge porch and great table with umbrella to have lunch, dinner on. We saw dolphins everyday. Each day we would watch the sunset and at night you could sit on the porch and watch people with flashlights go crab hunting. We thought the location was great. We actually liked that it's in Seagrove, vs. Seaside. The beach wasn't crowded at all and it was a quick drive or bike ride to get to Seaside, Watercolor, Alys or Rosemary. We would definitely stay here again!

So our second trip to ramsgate was,as usual, so much more than expected! It was like going home. Everything we wanted was at our fingertips. And with many more special and thoughtful touches than one could imagine. To start with, it is so clean, organized and welcoming when you walk in. Everything you need is right where you need it and things you didn't know you needed, wouldn't think of yourself or imagine would be there for you at a rental vacation home are everywhere. From little things like dishtowels, soap, detergent and that spice you need for the grill but forgot yourself, to the most UNBELIEVABLY comfortable beds, bed linens and towels. It's truely like you are staying at a 5 star hotel. The bed and comforter are better than my own. I said that last year also because it's soooo nice. And! fresh flowers at the bedside! Yes, fresh flowers. Amazing. Everything is so nice inside that it actually has to be right on the beach so you can just look out your window and see why you need to leave the house at all. The ocean and white sandy beach are at your every view from inside and steps away. We actually this year spent a lot of time on the huge deck during the days. The water is right there so you can just jump in, come back up to your towel and book and waste away your day. We also went to the heated pool a lot. So clean, nice and relaxing. One of the best things about ramsgate is the location. It is 3 minutes from Seaside and Watercolor and 6 from Rosemary so we were always able to go out and about sightseeing or eat out somewhere different and not have to go very far or be gone very long. It is like being at your own home only at the beach. And you only want to ever go back to ramsgate. I would not even think of staying somewhere else and am confident that once staying there, no one else would either!

If you are a father, or husband, that has to get the beach site "ready" before the family comes down for the day, this is the place for you! Beautiful views wherever you look, great deck, great rooms, great umbrella, great everything! I can't say it enough, you are on the sand and that makes all the diffrence when you have little ones, old ones, or just two middle aged ones that like having a private bathroom and cold ice just a few steps away! No fighting for space on the beach, nice and quiet at night and a short ride to Seaside shopping and dining, it truely has it all. We will be back year after year.

We've made a tradition of spending at least a week with the family in South Walton over the holidays. This year we (three adults, two kids) spent it at Ramsgate and came away with some great memories. While the weather was a little chillier than normal, most days it was still shorts and t-shirt weather for at least part of the day, and there were still people surfing and swimming in the gulf. Things I'd recommend or liked? Well, the usual activities are long walks on the beach, kayaking, biking, family time, hiking, and just relaxing. New restaurants? This year we tried George's over in Alys beach for a celebration dinner with friends. That was a first visit for us, but we'll be back on our next trip. On new years eve Seaside had a live band and a big fireworks show which was fun. Personally I like to try new recipes when I'm on vacation (my wife wishes I'd do that more when we're at home), and the kitchen had everything I needed to do that. One day I did my special BBQ ribs with the secret sauce on the grill while watching the sunset and they came out perfect. I will definitely stay in Ramsgate again. It was clean, very comfortable, well stocked, and definitely beach front like the pictures show. No surprises except good ones. We're pretty familiar with South Walton after several years, and we all agree this is a special place.

Perfect place! Clean, comfortable and convenient. The location is ideal - right at the beautiful beach with a large deck overlooking it all for beautiful sunrises and sunsets. This was a ladies' getaway long weekend and everything about it was pure perfection. We relaxed and enjoyed the views, took long walks, long bike rides and enjoyed local seafood. We both can't wait to go back with our families. I highly recommend it!

WOW! Ramsgate would be more accurately named 'heaven on earth'!My husband and I just spent a week there with our daughter and could not be happier! It really is amazing. You really are right on the water. You walk down a few steps from your deck to the white sandy beach and the bright blue water. You are right there if you ever need anything. And once we finally made it inside, we wanted for absolutely nothing. Ever.A fully stocked kitchen with all the amenities. Every little special touch and detail was there. The furniture and beds were so cozy and comfortable. It was like a home away from home.It was the definition of a vacation. We also loved the location. Less than a mile from Seaside, Watercolor and Grayton. We did 2 full days of sightseeing, shopping and great eating. And we were close enough to come and go as much as we wanted. Our best memories though happened right at Ramsgate. We saw a rainbow, dolphins, the tidal lake, sunrise and sunset on the water, grilled fresh seafood, ate our meals on the deck overlooking the ocean, slept to the sound of the waves. It was perfect and we can not wait to go back.Thank you for all of it.jennifer, bill and sunny.

Ramsgate is simply fantastic. I love the gulf, and staying right on the beach is REALLY convenient. It's really nice not to have to shlep your gear to the beach in the morning, back in the afternoon, and then, whoops, have to take the kids to the bathroom. All you have to do is step inside or or step outside, and there you are. No stress, 100 percent vacation.Ramsgate itself was clean and oh so comfortable. I spent 75 percent of my time on the decks or the beach, and probably the rest of the time napping. I had a stress backache from work at the start of the vacation, by the end it was gone. For a computer junkie, the free WiFi was a nice touch. When we wanted to figure out where to go for dinner, we just fired up the laptop and searched for restaurants in Seagrove: bingo -- Cafe 30A one night, Seagrove Market another. But the BEST was grilling out on the deck while the sun is going down, watching the water, and having a nice glass of wine. The kids always have fun here. The last time we stayed the tidal inlet between Eastern Lake and the gulf had opened and the kids spent a lot of time there. We saw some manta rays and dolphins. Now it's back to the real world. Thanks for helping me and my family a really relax for a change.

I almost hesitate in writing about how wonderful Ramsgate #2 beach-front condo truly is. If I share my positive comments, I am afraid everyone will want to come stay here, and then our family will not be able to find a vacany here- just kidding. The truth is: this is a once in a lifetime beach property. It is right on the beach- you can see the waves rolling in, the sand crabs burying whatever they bury, and the sand pipers running everywhere. The sun rises and sets right in your face. At night, you fall asleep to the sound of the waves lapping the shore. You can see the water from every room, except from the bathrooms. It is a perfect place to relax, or play. There are two pools to choose from- one is heated, the other is gulf view as you swim. I am looking forward to bringing my nephews to visit and play here. What a perfect place for kids to really enjoy the beach- no theme parks, just nature, and natural beauty. The owner must be a great mom, as she seems to provide everything a kid could want for the beach- toys, games, puzzles, and appropriate movies. I cannot wait to get there again- I already have my reservations, so feel free to make yours now. Ha!

We have stayed at Ramsgate twice so far and found it to be the perfect for our family. Step off the deck onto the beach, incredible views, beautiful water, two pools and close to dining and entertainment(if you choose to leave the house). All ammenities are provided, just bring swim suits, towels and smiles. We will be celebrating our 20th anniversary this summer and are planning to return to ramsgate for the week.

GUESTBOOK COMMENT:As an "old" Florida couple, my husband and I moved to the North Carolina mountains 14 years ago - thinking that was paradise. HOWEVER coming here has awakened all of my "Florida life"! We have so enjoyed being here in the sand and the sea! We realize that this, too, is paradise! We also realize how much we miss the gulf and Florida. We love your home and that you so graciously share it with others. Everything we needed was at our fingertips - just bring food - the deck and the fact that we had the BIGGEST umbrella was great - Don't change anything - we will be back.Rodney and Judy

GUESTBOOK COMMENT:Another perfect weekend at Ramsgate #2. We were here the same weekend last year and both times were so relaxing. This year we even got one spring day (on January 18th). 72 deg. The boys woke up at 6 am each day begging to head for the beach and even earlier 1 day. They sat on the upstairs deck wrapped in a blanket to watch the sunrise. These are things lifetime memories are made of. The first morning here, Baylen (age 5) walked on the deck, paused, turned to me and said "Mommy, isn't it so beautiful here!?". Thanks you for sharing this place.

GUESTBOOK COMMENT:We saw a rainbow this morning! Today was a little rainy, but we still had a great time. We went to the Red Bar in Grayton Beach. On Sundays they have a bluegrass\ragae band that is wonderful. In the afternoon the rain cleared and we went to the beach. We have to go now because the steaks are almost ready. We can't wait to come back again.

GUESTBOOK COMMENT:The absolute worst thing about this place is having to leave. We had a short visit - could only stay 3 days and each one was perfect. Yesterday it was calm enough the kids and I went kayaking looking for that sunken treasure in the Seagrove article. We didn't find it (yet)., but we ran into a couple pods of dolphins not 2 - paddle lengths away. Today the water is so calm I was hoping to see some manta rays, but haven't yet. Gotta go.

GUESTBOOK COMMENT:WOW! We had no idea that paradise was a mere 6 hour drive from Atlanta. You know that you have had a great day and you are a lucky soul when you see the sunrise and set over the crashing waves of the beautiful gulf of Mexico. All that and occupied children whose laughter can be heard up on the deck (and nooo bedtime problems for little ones who wake at 6:30 am (Can you tell we had a fabulous time?) Thank you.

GUESTBOOK COMMENT:Thank you for the beach. It was wonderful. I am so attached to the sea. That is because I was born in the month of Cancer the Crab. I also think it's because I was born in the year of the dog. Even though it was cold, I took my shoes off and put my feet in the water. Some days it was very warm. I'll never forget the times Emma and me would get out of the pool. I loved the beach. It was great. I hope we can come here again.

GUESTBOOK COMMENT:This is our first visit to this area of Florida and it is absolutely beautiful! It's a perfect getaway for families. Of course, we loved playing on the beach or just watching the ocean from the deck. Ramsgate #2 has been a wonderful place to stay - so comfortable, clean and family-frendly. It's the most well-stocked vacation home we've stayed in. We have 2 and 4 year old daughters who love the beach toys, games and videos (the side railing for the bed & safety gate were very beneficial for my 2 year old). The umbrellas, table and chairs on the deck for the beach made our outdoor activities much more enjoyable. We ate seafood every night which we mainly bought from Goatfeathers Seafood Market and prepared at home. Modica Market in Seaside has great muffins and Muffalelta sandwiches. We also enjoyed renting a surrey (the bike-like carriages) and riding around Seaside (my 4 year old's idea). Thank you for the wonderful place to stay.

GUESTBOOK COMMENT:This is our second visit to Ramsgate #2. Our last visit was Sept. of 01. We thoroughly enjoy sitting on the beach and the deck and just watching the ocean. Our children love the beach and investigate all manner of marine life. One of our favorite past times is crab hunting along the shore at night with a flashlight. Those ghost crabs are FAST! This is a lovely place to stay and we appreciate how well supplied and stocked it is. The table and umbrella for outdoor dining is perfect as well as the grill. Bruno's has the best pizza (I would not recommend Angelina's pizza) and Shades in Seaside is wonderful. We dined outside (in early May it is perfect weather for that) and their food is just scrumtious. Also - Goatfeathers has wonderful fresh fish for the grill - we almost exclusively ate fish this visit. What a treat. Thanks you for opening this lovely place to visitors.
