My wife and I stayed at Exuma Blue for our honeymoon and we couldn't have wished for a better place. It's a 10 minute walk to town, which has banks (with 24 hour ATMs), grocery stores, shops, restaurants and bars, etc. It's a 5 minute walk to a little secluded beach. One day, we decided to go to a more popular beach, and so we were able to cheaply book tickets for a water taxi at the Peace and Plenty restaurant/hotel/bar (a 10 minute walk from the house), and were quickly ferried to Hamburger Beach. The house has every amenity. We grilled our own meals on the balcony, with a spectacular view of the water. The island itself offers a lot, and the house contains a lot of pamphlets with information on adventure tours, etc. The area is safe and we felt comfortable walking around at any time. Everyone speaks English and American currency is accepted everywhere, and it's a 1:1 exchange rate with the Bahamian dollar, which is also nice. If possible, try to get a direct flight into Georgetown; island hopping can be a pain. Altogether, it was a great stay, and the property manager, Delwood Hall, is a cool guy and was available to help whenever we needed it.

Exuma Blue is exactly as described. It is beautful and clean, and the views are picture postcard perfect. The reason we give it less than 5 stars is because of a couple of personal things; we like to keep all the doors open (screens closed of course), but the road was very noisy. Lots of traffic going back and forth to the settlement. So, then we had to close the doors. (We like it real quiet when we sleep) and run the air conditioner. We are not air conditioner people. It always seemed too hot, or too cold. I read where some people loved the bed, that was not our favorite either. But the worse thing that happened was that on the 4th night of our stay, we woke up to a nasty smoke smell. We thought maybe Exuma Blue was on fire, but thank goodness it was not. The islanders burn their trash. And from Friday night until Tues when we left, someone was burning, somewhere. The weather was very still, and the smoke just hung there. Yuck. Delwood was awesome. He got some groceries for us when we got in. And was there to answer any questions. One thing you beer drinkers should know, the local brew is Kaluck (wonderful) but I was of the assumption it was sold like in the states-handy 6 pks, 12 pks, etc. Beer is sold (best value) by the case. Try lugging a case in hot tropical weather! Rodney (taxi 11) came to our rescue and ran us to town and back. Stocking Island is great fun. The pig roast on Sunday is great. Elvis' water taxi to the island is an entertaining ride.

My husband, young son and I arrived on Grand Exuma to find the quaint, quiet and most important clean cottage with a wonderful view of Elizabeth Harbour. Exuma Blue is the quintessential relaxed island cottage with all the ameneties one needs stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and of course the beach. The best beach closest to Exuma Blue was Jolly Hall beach about 1/2 mile away with Groceries being about the same or less. One can walk into Georgetown and Jolly Hall but after about four days of hoofing it with a child in tow a rental car is highly recommended as there is no public transportation with the exception of the water taxi to Stocking Island. As luck would have it we were able to get access to a rental car with Delwood's assistance which made our vacation complete and more enjoyable as we were able to explore Exuma's natural beauty. We thank you Delwood! It would be wise to make rental car arrangements with Delwood prior to leaving to insure that a car is available. Yes a rental is expensive but well worth the cost. It is also good to remember that Exuma is an out island so grocery variety is a hit and miss but we never lacked the necessities and infrastructure (water and electricity) were briefly interrupted due to utility work but were restored promptly. There remains evidence of Hurricane Irene which struck the Bahamas in August of 2011 but it has not stood in the way of the graciousness, kindness and hospitality of Exuma's residents. We were won over by the hospitality of out islands life and truly experienced a much needed escape from the hussle and bussle. We are already planning our return to Exuma and other out islands.

My husband and I had a fabulous time staying at Exuma Blue. The home was clean, and spacious and had a great view of Elizabeth Harbor. The beaches are absolutley gorgeous and there was hardly anyone on the beaches the whole 9 days we were there. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing place to vacation come to Georgetown and stay at Exuma Blue. We did a lot of snorkling and swam in the crystal blue water, the beaches were clean, not very many people on the island and not very many restaurants to go to but you MUST go to Santana's just ask the locals where it is and they will tell you, the best grouper (fish) you will ever have. We enjoyed our stay so much and look forward to coming back. Todd/Sue Fountain Hills, AZ

Just got back from a wonderfully relaxing week in Exuma. We stayed at the Exuma Blue Cottage near George Town. The Cottage is clean with all the amenities you could need. It is equipped with all your cooking needs so you will just need to go to the grocery store and everything you need will be in the kitchen. There is onsite laundry, games, beach towels, beach bags, snorkeling gear and sea scooters. There is a Sleep Number bed so every night my husband and I slept as though we were at home in our own bed. There is a large deck on the front of the house with a great view of the water and lots of seating to sit and enjoy the sun and the breeze. There is a beach walking distance from the house along with a few restaurants and a bar. If you are up to a little bit longer of a walk you can walk into George Town. If relaxing, swimming, snorkeling and fishing is your thing this is the place to vacation and the house to rent. We will definitely stay here again!

We have been renting vacation houses for 15 years and Exuma Blue was the most welcoming of all of them. Exuma Blue is a very clean house and it has everything needed to welcome guests. When we arrived there were already three 5 gallon containers with the a cold water dispenser, bath and beach towels, snorkeling equipment, satellite TV with wireless Internet access, paper towels, all the bedding, etc. It was a very pleasant and comfortable arrival. We really enjoyed Exuma and the location of the house is excellent: close to George Town, Stocking Island and halfway in the island. The house keeper, Delwood, went beyond what we expected, picking us up at the airport, and through our stay he was very pleasant and helpful. Thank you.

I lived for most of January 2011 in Exuma Blue. I was looking for a hideaway to escape to in order to re-charge my batteries and write a business plan for a new venture. Exuma Blue was perfect for this. It's a 15 minute stroll into town and I found this no hardship to complete a couple of times a day. Exuma is a fairly quiet and unspoilt island (outside of Regatta time, I guess) and that is the secret of its success in that you all mix easily with the very friendly and welcoming locals. Ronnie and Hughie at The Two Turtles could not have been better hosts - go there Fridays for BBQ and band. Also take a water taxi from Government Dock over to Stocking Island on Sundays for the Chat N Chill beach bar experience, with a pig roast to go with it. Rake and Scrape at Eddie's on a Monday is a must, as is a visit or two to the Fish Fry which is only 500 metres from Exuma Blue. The house itself has everything you need - a capacious fridge/freezer and oven, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, satellite TV, wi-fi and a printer/fax/scanner (Tina, the owner, helpfully told me to bring a HP56 black and HP22 colour printer cartridge as you can't get them on the island). As well as the essentials there is also plenty of outdoor seating on the decking which has a view of the sea and Stocking Island in the distance and even a candle-lit jacuzzi in the bedroom! There are fins, mask and snorkels available and 2 wonderful underwater scooters for lazy snorkelling. Delwood, the agent on the ground here, was at the other end of the phone and looked after me if I needed anything fixing or had any questions. While here I also rented a scooter for a day to explore the islands and went scuba diving with Dive Exuma, a 5 star PADI outfit run by Tamara and Jonathan and based at February Point. The trip to Long Island and wreck dive there and Shark Point dive on the way back were a high point. I had a wonderful time in the Exumas while it froze back home in London and I certainly hope to return. David Roche

Tina and Delwood, her man-about-town, made sure we were well accommodated and acclimated to the possibilities of exploring Exuma. The house itself is beautiful, the bed comfortable, the kitchen, dining area and front porch were large, peaceful and relaxing after a day of exploring. Everything was clean and well-maintained, and after seeing the hotels, we were extremely happy that we decided to stay at Exuma Blue. The house is located almost in the middle of the island, so it was easy to get to the main town (GeorgeTown), the hub of nearly all activities on the island. Thanks again for a wonderful stay--thanks again to Delwood, who was friendly, extremely helpful, and courteous!

I have forced my wife to vacation in the mountains since 2005 and OWED her this trip big time! Our goal was to relax and relax we did. Exuma is one beautiful place and Exuma Blue was the perfect headquarters for our excursions all over the island. The place was exceptionally set up and the addition of Dellwood from HG Properties as our "go to" guy was wonderful. We needed a kayak - it was there the next day in our driveway. A rental car - same. The island itself is a jewel. The short trip over to Stocking Island (which may be the most perfect spot for a beach day in the world) revealed gorgeous beaches to ourselves, cool trails, crystal clear water, and two wonderfully set up places to get the best Bahamamamas in the islands! February Point was a wonderful place to have a nice night out - at the Bamboo Grill - as was the restaurant at the Grande Isle up in Emerald Bay. Awesome. The only question that remains is how soon can we get back!

I just recently returned from 5 greats days staying in 'Exuma Blue'. It was a great experience. The unit was clean and well equipped for my stay. Although it was walking distance to downtown, I chose to rent a car which made my stay much easier. A taxi was arranged for me to meet me at the airport and I felt like I was so special in that Dellwood (my Exuma contact) was so helpful and accommodating. The convenience of having the washer and dryer was great, but found myself bringing home a suitcase of unused clothes. Just stick with the bathing suits and be sure to visit Elvis at the Harbour to take the water Taxi over to Stocking Island. I'm already planning my next trip! Thanks, Tina for a great experience and making things so easy!

We had a great time at exuma blue and were sad to leave, hopefully we can return again soon. We found the property consisted of everything necessary for a comfortable long or short term stay, for an adult couple and alot more extra's, such as snorkeling and beach gear and board games. Theres a well stocked kitchen (blender, ice machine, toaster, spare containers, dish washer etc), and comfortable lounge and spacious bedroom and balcony. We barbequed on the balcony for most of our lunches, and then enjoyed a fun dip in the jacquzzi in the evenings, the view from the bedroom, lounge and balcony is amazing. I enjoyed spending time on the swinging chair on the balcony looking at the garden and view of the sea. Direct TV was also fabulous as there were pre-recorded films and other programmes could be recorded too. Local calls are free on the island which was great, and the staff managing the property were also extremely helpful. We did not really go to the beach at the bottom of the road, as there was not too much sand there, but went 20 mins walk further left to jolly hall's great beach. Our honeymoon was better than we could have planned, we made friends with many locals and were taken out by them, fishing and even a boat trip to the cays. A dream location and well worth the visit, and self catering helps as most things such as dinning can become quite expensive on the island. Lastly we just like to thank the host who made the honeymoon, even before arriving by appreciating complications that arose with our airline and going out of her way to help, God's blessings to you and all our new friends in Exuma.

We can not say enough about how incredible Exuma Blue is - imagine being in a luxury hotel, except you are the only guest! Every detail is complete down to the soft linens and sleep number bed. If you want peace, relaxation and to get away from it all, this is where you need to be! We will be back!

Everything at this propery was top notch and sophisticated while still comfortable and laid back. We were so happy with every aspect of this beautful house, and plan to come back again! You won't be disappointed - after 30 years of travel, my significant other said this was by far the best accomodations he's come across (he doesn't do the mass hotel or resort scene.) We can not wait to come back!!!

We just returned from a wonderful one-week stay at Exuma Blue in Georgetown. The house was just as described: clean, comfortable, and very convenient to everything, with beautiful views over Elizabeth Harbour and lovely dark skies at night. We walked to town daily, although we also rented a car for touring the island from Barreterre in the north to Williams Town in the south. We took the water taxi out to Stocking Island twice and loved everything there, from conch salad at Chat'n Chill to the gorgeous beach on the Atlantic side. The nearby Fish Camp and Santana's in Williams Town were also favorite destinations. Captain Ryan sells grouper and conch from his boat at the Gov't Dock if you want to cook your own dinner. Tina's management folks at H.G. Christie's were great, helping us rent the car and arranging taxi rides to and from the airport. We would highly recommend the island of Exuma and Exuma Blue for a memorable holiday!

We booked a last minute trip to the Bahamas and lucky for us Exuma Blue was available. The cottage was spotlessly clean and just as it appears in the pictures. Tina showed us amazing hospitality by leaving lots of food in the freezer for us to use, including homemade tamales!!! We were looking for a romantic getaway and that is exactly what we got. Beautiful ocean view from the deck during the day and at night we took in some amazing stargazing. There is lots to do, we took a trip over to Stocking Island and fed the stingrays, did some snorkeling and of course, some exploring!! We couldn't get over the deserted beaches - we had three mile beach all to ourselves. Easy walking distance into town and the grocery store, as well as restaurants. We were sad to come home to winter - and hope we can go again soon. I have already recommended Exuma Blue to friends and family. Thanks for a wonderful experience Tina!!

Exuma Blue is a new, beautiful, spacious one-bedroom cottage. My wife and I rented it for a month this past February 2010 at a good monthly rate. It is well laid out and very livable, with laundry and storage room on ground level. All living area is up top, which affords a private, airy and open feel, and the deck overlooks the incredible, ever-changing hues and textures of the water in Elizabeth Harbour. The deck is usable all day because it faces north. It catches the morning sun, but is shaded from the hotter afternoon sun as it passes behind the cottage. The cottage is located in a private quiet location on a paved side road about 100 yards up from the main road. The cottage is surrounded by natural vegetation and no other buildings. It is walking distance to two very nice beaches and, even more importantly, to Georgetown, the main town on the island. You will need and want to go there often. There are only three stop signs around Georgetown, no stoplights. It’s lovely village. There are two grocery stores, a straw market, good shopping, library, good restaurants and take outs, Top-to-Bottom hardware/fishing store, Minns’ motorboat rentals, car and scooter rentals, a gas station, 5 churches, two banks, internet cafes, night spots, mail boat and fast ferry to Nassau, a common area for community events and concerts, and friendly , beautiful, un-pushy people. After being on Great Exuma for a month, and going all over the island numerous times in our rental car, I saw nowhere I’d rather stay than Exuma Blue, both for itself and for its convenience to everything else you may want and need. We will be going back…today, if I could!

Jan '09 - with our 25th wedding anniversary in sight and a tough year behind us (jobs, health, funerals you name it!) we were looking for a real chance to get away from it all and spend some quality, healing time together. Wow - Exuma Blue delivered, in spades!! The description and pictures of the cottage speak for themselves, you will not be disappointed. The island itself has much to offer but in a gentle, non-intrusive, live-and-let-live way - it's easy to see how Tina and Jason fell in love with it and decided to build. Take a boat to Stocking Island and write your names on the wall in the Chat'n'Chill, then join in with feeding the tame stingrays; stop off at the "Beach Access" sign on the bend well before Tropic of Cancer on Little Exuma, you will have 1/2 mile of warm sea and white sand beach entirely to yourselves; SCUBA dive an Atlantic coral reef with the girls from Dive Exuma. Go enjoy Exuma Blue but leave your return ticket open...it's really hard to leave....

My Boyfriend and I have rented the cottage from January through April 2008 and we love it. The house sits up on a hill side and gives you a view of Elizabeth Harbor while you are watching TV, eating at the kitchen table, or from the Jacuzzi tub which is located in the bedroom. We spend a lot of our time on the front porch which has a swing, love seat and padded bench to lie on. There is also a propane grill on the patio to grill on if you like. The kitchen table can be easily moved outside if you like to eat outside. The home is very well furnished and has new appliances (toaster, oven/stove, fridge, dishwasher, blender, Crockpot, egg beater, washer and drier). The AC works great but you may not need that if you come in January. There is internet at the house and satellite TV and a phone. The house is close to George Town which is the main town on the island. You can walk there from the cottage. There is a small beach down the road from the house that you can walk to as well. I would certainly recommend this cottage for your vacation it will feel like your home away from home.
