We had such a wonderful stay Dec. 19- 30th, 2011! It was perfectly accomodating to feed 11 of us sitting at the tables and many wonderful projects in the cozy kitchen like Gingerbread houses and ornaments for our tree. Friends came to visit comfortably in the two sitting rooms and we just loved walking to the beach and the park - both only three blocks away. The nice linens and quaint decor was all enhancing to our vacation. We made lots of good memories. thank you

Lovely home, quiet and close to beach

We had such a great time staying at this lovely house, many good restaurants in the area. We were visiting family in the area and felt right at home. I have been to several VRBO places too and found this place to be quite a deal. This place is clean and kept up compared to some other vrbo rentals that I have stayed at, it is in a nice area, and very charming.

Recommended for:Girls getaway, age 55+, pet owners, families with young children.

Our visit to the Neptune Beach House

We have rented many vacation beach home rentals from VRBO and others in the $700-$900/week range. This property is literally 3 blocks from the ocean, and the beach is dog friendly. That was the only positive of this rental. The house is old, which is usually fine by us, but this one is in very poor shape including extremely dirty/stained/ripped carpet and linoleum flooring, filthy kitchen, 1 plastic shower stall that is about 2.5' X 2.5', shower head at chest level if your 6' tall, not to mention that we spent an entire day waiting for a plumber to show up as the shower drain was backing up and flooding the floor due to the dinge and hair clogging the drain. The owners wouldn't even consider refunding us a day. Overall, we would not recommend this property.

Owner response:Once notified of the problem, we promptly contacted the plumber and asked him to contact them to coordinate their schedules. The pictures of our home are very accurate. Our home is one that is pet friendly and that is another reason that they rented our home along with the ability to park their fishing boat in our driveway. We take pride in our home - which is family owned and was built by the father/grandfather of the owners. Our housekeeper does an excellent job maintaining our home.

My family and I spent over two weeks at this well kepted house while vacationing and visiting with family. The house provided a great place to come "home" to after going to the beach, visiting family in Jacksonville or a fort in nearby St. Augustine, going to the zoo or even a nice museum in Jacksonville. Renting this home provided more space than any hotel room and also provided the opportunity to "eat in" (a cheaper and healthier way to dine). Our children were pleased to find a variety of toys, books, boogie boards for the beach, and even a "pack-n-play" in which our baby could sleep. The house has a dining area and eat-in kitchen large enough to have friends and family over. If we had any questions, they were answered. In fact, all of our communications were politely and promptly answered. In time, we would like to return. Chris and Christi and family

We had a great vacation at this beach house. My husband, myself, and my two little ones stayed there for a week. The price was reasonable and the description is truthful. I loved the proximity to the beach, the comforts of home, the neighborhood, the washer/dryer, and the sun room. There were even a few toys that my little girl found within minutes of getting there. The dining area is great. I was able to host the four of us plus 7 more for 2 meals during our visit. Plenty of room. We will definitely stay there again. Thanks!
